Hey everyone... I just got done with douching my tank in acid...cleaning out the carbs...new plugs...etc. Here is the problem. I am getting good throttle response, but the RPMS are slow to drop. I did read that you probably need to re-jet the carb, however I have searched the internet high and low to find out what Mikuni carb I actually have on the bike. I tried to order stuff for the 400 from MikesXS, however they are acting like pieces of shit and send sarcastic emails back because they only deal with 650's. Right.. Something i found when i had a little 50cc (Pug Speedy 2) when i changed my exhaust i had to change my rollers, jet and some other stuff. So basically it was like a puzzle. If i wanted to fit one thing i had to change about 500 other things.. So, if i wanted to put one of those new aftermarket exhausts on my R125, would i have to change loads of other stuff too? It's a 1978 xs 400 that I just bought off craigslist for 450$. Seemed too good to resist. Also my dad had bought one of these brand new in 1980. It's going to need the carbuerators rebuilt, and the kickstart was put on wrong by the last person. But it does start easily with the electric start and idles with no odd noises. Just thought I'd share.
