Hi, I have purchased 5 new rear disc bolts for my XJ6s and I would like to know the tightening torque also whether I should use threadlock on them ? Another less important thing I would like an opinion on is the round gear shift rubber which I have also purchased, it is genuine Yamaha and I notice one end of the hole is chamfered and the other is square, which way round should it be fitted on the metal lever ? Hopefully someone has the answers ! Lincol

I have a sr250 custom bobber, I've cleaned the carb multiple times, still doesn't help much. It will crank and idle, was only running only on half choke, it will idle and ride now with choke off but still wants to spit back through the carb and backfire, also wants to shut off sometimes at stops. How can I fix this?

Hey everyone, just after a little advice or guidance if you may. I bought some Goodrich hoses (race setup) so there are two front lines opposed to one line to a caliper then a pipe going over, anyway I have no mounting point for one of the lines however I have an adaptor which looks like it will screw in somewhere & brake line will clamp in.. Does anyone have any advice as to maybe where or what is best, bike is a 2010 yam xj6n Thanks for any help Regards Shaun

Hi folks , the brake calipers on my project LC are pretty much shot beyond recovery . I was wondering if anyone would know if brakes from any modern bike will go on without too much messing about ?

Just after a bit of advice, Just picked up a Yamaha 1100 dragstar, its pretty standard apart from the exhaust and lots of chrome. It seems to be running fine, its a 2005 with only 12k on the clocks. . . . one owner since new. when I crack the throttle open in a low gear, the engine note seems to change and the clutch appears to slip a little, the speedo rises, but after a few seconds of the bike roaring, the engine noise will subside and it will start to accelerate a little more aggressive than usual. standard test - like put the bike in top gear when rolling at 5mph doesn't seem to make it any worse or better, it still seems to slip and hesitate before pulling …

Hey guys & girls :-) I am a newbie to the forum, so please go easy lol :-p i was hoping for maybe some advice, I'm planning on buying a R6, my budget is around £2.5-3k, iv had a look on stuff like auto trader an piston heads etc etc, but just don't know which one is a good deal to actually get, hence why I'm here :-) maybe you guys could offer me some advice on when purchasing a 2nd hand R6 etc etc, or if you see any good deals around the budget i have please let me know :-) thanks for the any help given guys :-)

What speed can I ride my XVS 650 Cruiser after it's 1000km service without doing any damage to the motor as I am thinking of doing a small trip on the weekend?

hi, i now have a 2006 ybr 125, carb moddle bike, the engines had it, popping spluttering on and down on compression and it sounds like a bag of hammers, now i can change the engine like for like, but i can get the newer injector engine with alot less miles. now i know my bike cant take it injector, but what if i took the injector manifold off put the carb one on and changed the ignition pick up, along with the stator plate would that work? as the engines are identical in side and out, the only differences are the injector thanks

Hey everyone, we'll being new to biking (other than a 50 which is not a long distance machine...) I finally got out for my first ride! Have to say that I loved it, got up to Buxton and around some B roads & A roads in the area before heading back to j&s with one of my mates and his dad on his new bike, still need to work on my confidence in the bends a little bit however this should come in time. Hoping to get out a lot more now, here is a pic from the day after I have fitted my renthal braced bars not so long ago, just need to get my Goodrich shadow hoses on next week. Comments welcome

I was out riding my ybr the other day and in all of the sudden it stalled, but not like the engine was broken. The engine had ran dry on oil, and it ws a bit hot. When I came home (by car..) I filled oil and made sure it was cold enough to try and start it, but i wouldn't. - it has fuel - new oil - spark plug works fine - cylinder goes up and down, with a draft - fuel flows thru the carburetor - air filter is clean and almost new What else does it need? I even tried to fill starter gas straight into the engine and it still wouldn't ignite. Any suggestions?

Hello today i picked up a rare 1983 yamaha rx50 in red. Anyone got any info on these bikes as there is not much info about them on the web. as far as i know they made less than 2000 of them and you couldnt actually buy them they were given away by way of a raffle. One was given to each dealer by yamaha as a way of creating showroom traffic as far as i know it was only in america cheers.

i have a yamaha xj 400 diversion and am cueerntly looking for advice on best place so source parts as i work for wemoto and im ashamed to say we are lacking in the listed parts for this bike i know its a long shot but in the process of getting mine sorted im hoping to put together a more extensive range of info on this bike any help greatfully recieved also if there are any other yams parts we dont stock and know there part numbers please let me know so i can get onto wemoto admin to help others out

This is more an opportunity for you to laugh at me than me asking for advice. Was on my way to college today, my friend was driving behind me. I pull out onto a roundabout and start accelerating towards an exit that goes onto a big bridge. BANG. No power. Manage to quickly run up the slip road with it and put it in a bus stop, after frantically waving my arms around to indicate a breakdown, since my bike has no hazard lights. Chain has came off and completely jammed itself. hi all,i have a sachs roadster 125 which uses the xv125 engine. does anyone (paul white)have any idea regarding replacing the clutch,not had it out yet but the bite is right at the end aithough not slipping at all. any advice would be good . thanks craig
