Hello, I am currently stationed in Okinawa Japan and i bought a Yamaha SRV250. I got it for a helluva steal. only $750! Anyway, it has some serious carburetor issues and i need to rebuild them. the only problem is i can't find carb parts for it anywhere!! From what i've read the carbs are not the same as its Virago brother being that the Virago only has one horizontal carb and the SRV has two vertical carbs. Anyway, if anyone knows where i can get carb parts for it or if there are any identical carbs i can use parts from please let me know so i can get this thing up and running! Also, the guy i bought it from said that it was a 1981, however, from what i've read t…

hey everyone, Have not been online for a while been busy at work & trying to get the bike clean in areas that have been left to build up a mass amount of grease... anyway after spending what seems like an eternity wiping excess grease/chain lube from around the chain runner/front sprocket/all areas near there with a tooth brush (not my current morning use brush) & some gunk, I took a step back admired what was now looking clean & with it being a warm sunday got it out for a quick blast. got back and had another look at the front of the engine just behind the exhaust & OH MY DAYS! looks like it has got all 11,000 miles of dirt...grit & crap off …

Hey guys, maybe is a bit to soon but I prefer to be prepared. I don`t like to rush my preparing in last days, so.. In july-august will be, I will try cover most of the european countries but most time i will spend in Romania. I need to know any strange things about european countries (like stickers and breathalyzer in france), but not just this. must see points in europe, etc. also what I need to take with me (papers, tools for bike, etc). I`m good enough to prepare myself for traveling-camping (half of my life I was in mountains... BUT, I will also listen to you if you have something to share with me about this... anyway I always forget something home so, i`…

Took a little trip around town and some back country roads here and then stopped at the beach for a couple photos... I'm getting excited about the approaching riding season seeing as how it's going to be my first full season ever!! Can't wait to feel some WARM weather though! Ice and snow is still abundant...but the roads were fairly clear at least. Sand and salt everywhere but I already feel so much more confident after reading that Twist II book that it's like a night and day difference from when I started riding last year. Gratuitous photos attached!

Is it right that you can't change a Virago 535 plug leads without having to change the coil ? This seems very bizarre to me...but that's what I have read ???? Cheers Stuart

Hi guys... I have a Virago 535....Starts really well when she's cold ( almost immediately)...but if I try and start it when she's hot....she'll turn over and not fire...wearing the battery down! If I have waited a few mins tp cool a bit it seems OK again... I am a bit concerned, in case I stall it at lights or summat !!! Any ideas? Cheers

Hey peeps. was browsing eBay looking for my old DT50, came across this, it looks so sad how could someone just leave a bike in a hedge? (unless it was nicked i guess), the tank has literally rusted through from top to bottom!

hello all, The warm days are coming and the rundown xvs i bought last year is finally getting some attention besides turning the engine over once every few days. Got to the back wheel, and it was so seized there was no way to get it of without wrecking the swing arm. after days of fruitless effort penetrating oil soaking and bashings I decided to just cut the spindle/axle and finally get it out. then replace it. examining the spindle, there was NO way this would of come out without cutting it, its rusted solid. MY QUESTION IS: Between the two centre wheel bearings, there is a wide spacer (about 3" long) which is rusted tight to the spindle, this appears to b…
