Hey everybody, I have been gifted an xj900f to go along side my xj6n by my other half's dad however there is a slight snag! Now here is the awkward part for me, he has not ridden the bike for the best part of 9 years which does not phase me but he has no recollection of where the v5 is & if he ever declared it worn due to a health issue, the bike is in good condition and to me it would be nice to get it back to full health & I can learn a trick or two along the way. Does anybody know how I can get a log book without landing him in it for it not being sorn or without a massive cost? Thanks for any advice as I don't know where to start. Shaun

got new bike on 4/2/14 a Yamaha XT600E (just like saying that) how long does it take to receive the log book? its been 21 days now, on yahoo answers someone said it usually takes a couple of weeks & to leave it 6 week before chasing it up if you haven't heard from the DVLA but don't know if this is true got my mod2 tomorrow but even if I pass cannot tax my new bike (did I mention its a Yamaha XT600E?) because it says not to order one until you get log book or previous owner might get it by new I mean new to me, 2003 model

  3. So I had my first spill coming out of the Wallasey tunnel tonight. Bike decided to do a bit of acrobatics while I was braking, think I hit a spot of oil or something. I'd wondered whether I needed all the padded/kevlar gear with "just" a 125 YBR, but after landing on my shoulder and sliding along the floor at 30mph I now understand why it's important! A bit bruised, but I'm intact, so I guess the gear did its job. Bike wouldn't start at first, was just getting the engine light, but after about 10mins of catching my breath and cursing it fired up like nothing had happened. Handlebar is a bit bent, and the right indicator won't work, but otherwise it looks largely intac…

Just seen this on faceache and looks a great alternative to painting. The hydrographic process consists of transferring a pattern to an object using water displacement. The object being printed can now be dipped through the pattern. The water being displaced by the object causes the pattern to wrap around and adheres the print to the object no matter how complex the shape. Creating a continuous finish. http://www.kustomcoatingsuk.co.uk/

is it possible to fit an xvs 250 engine into an xvs 125?they look pretty similar but i wonder if it was possible would i have to change the braking system as it would obviously need more stopping power?

Got a bloody section 59 yesterday for doing a professional photography session on a unused beach on my motorbike (fully road legal). Just wondering if any one knows of any one I can write to with a petition to get some legal land for us to ride on as there is no where for over 20 miles. I no I prob won't get any where but I'm fed up with it police thinking they rule everything and are bigger than me they do not even no how to issue a section 59 I had to tell them how to do it they wanted to take the bike straight away but I told them if they want to do that they got to catch me but if they give me a section 59 I'll cooperate I'm not a little chav on a battered old…

Hi all. As I'm new to biking (had my licence since June 2013) the first set of jacket and trousers I bought were textile ones. I'm looking in to buying a leather jacket and trouser set and wondered if anybody has heard of the brand, and if so what are your thoughts? Thought I'd ask as it's a lot of money to spend (500 pound for the set I'm looking at!!). Any advice would be gratefully received.

  15. I mean like Fizzies and early Yammies (RDs etc.) have? If we'd all bought RDs 10-15 years ago (when they were real cheap) we'd be sitting on a bit of an 'investment' now. Same with MK1 Ford Escorts - couldn't give them away 20 years ago . . . have you seen the prices now? I guess I'm trying to figure the next 'thing'. Your thoughts gentlemen?

Still got to be run in but at least the weather isn't too bad. The shiny pictures: I took it for a little run using my normal commute roads. Seems to go OK. I've just got to scrub the tyres in a bit and then give it some welly. Well pleased! Back to 4 bikes now and 3 are Yami's.

THE BATTLE-BITCH IS BACK!!!!! Up the MoT centre, check over, test stuff, laser-alignment thingumies out and a thorough examination top to tail... I have a pass certificate, no advisories and a MASSIVE grin on my face!!! As is the custom, I have a couple of photos to show - Here's what is left of the damaged parts. You may notice stator rotor and pickup, stator cover, entire back end and rear light assembly, indicators, number plate, footpeg, mudguard and the rear wheel: The crash bar bore so much impact that it bent in and shattered the thick metal stator cover... ...and actually bent the stator rotor (which was subsequently used for a spot of weldi…
