Just heard Loomies was robbed earlier in the week. The thieving bastards took the safe with a weeks takings in it, computer gear and they tore up the place. They will be open this weekend and could really do with it being busy so if anyone's in the area try to find time to pop in for a coffee, every little helps. Find them here: Loomies Cafe A272 (West Meon Hut) Hampshire GU32 1JX http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&where1=GU32%201JX,%20Winchester,%20Hants&q=gu32%201jx&encType=1

Hello everyone. New guy Bruce here. I'm trying to get the wife's '73 CT3 175cc back on the road after years of garage storage. When I "prime the pump" (put fuel in the cylinder through the plug hole) it will start and run as long as the RPMs are kept above idle. Don't know the RPM needed, the tach doesn't work. It seems to run just fine all through the gears & at all speeds but she will not idle & will not re-start when shut off. I've cleaned the carb as best I could w/carb cleaner aerosol. Am having great difficulty finding a rebuild kit or new carb on the net. Any idea? Part sources? Any help greatly appreciated.

I have a 2014 , yamaha xj6f. It's done 1500 miles. I've had it from new and haven't dropped it. I've noticed that sometimes it seems to have a slight oil leak. It's not all the time. I can't see any residue any where. The position of the oil on the floor would suggest that it is coming from the fuel overflow pipes. I can never see it leaking and it's there when I return to the bike. Any ideas of why oil would be leaking from there? Has anyone else had similar problems?

Hello all- I recently replaced the original reeds on my dt175 with boyesen power reeds and the bike is now running very hot. It was in storage for a while and ran fine before the upgrade. Has anyone else used these reeds on this machine and had trouble?

Been a little while since I posted, I've been out enjoying the summer here since it's only a few months long in Canada.... but have some good and bad news! 12k kms after the rebuild on the old 86 FZ600 it decided to blow up. Connecting rod end cap let loose and boom...hole in the case. I have enough parts to rebuild but in the meantime, it was an incredible excuse for an upgrade. I searched far and wide, and found a killer deal on a 1999 Yamaha R6... and HOLEEEEEY shit, WHAT an upgrade it is. Such a smooth bike compared to the old girl, everything feels more stable, however you require a lot of self restraint to not twist the throttle open on a curve and kill yourse…

Hey All, After riding my brilliant wee 125 Dragstar for almost 2 years my CBT is up soon I'm considering moving on and finally getting my licence. Can anyone recommend a good and inexpensive place to do my Direct Access with? Need to get an idea of cost. If it's too expensive I'll just re-sit the CBT and save a bit longer. Cheers.

I own an XJ6 and just bought myself some renthal streetfighter handle bars, they are approx 100mm longer than standard bars si when I fitted then the cables were pulling too tight, has anybody fitted longer bars and got over the problem I have? I know I've seen somewhere an XJ6 with these type of bars on so I'm guessing it can be done. Also if someone's reading this could some one give me the measurement from top of yoke to centre of handles bars as I'm thinking that the risers I have on may not be the originals and hindering the fitting of the new bars ... Thanks muchly )))

Once the daughter-in-law got shot of the SR125 I had no Yamaha connection, so kinda drifted away ..... until today. Here's how it's happened: Monday sold the H*nda NTV650, came home and had a look on ebay for a replacement - spotted a candidate with 15 minutes left on the auction. Put a bid £10 above the current highest bidder with 30 seconds to go, ebay said "Feck orf, it's gotta be £20 more or nowt", so I went that extra tenner and slid the winning bid in with 3 seconds on the clock. Tuesday spoke to the guy selling and arranged to pick it up today (Friday) This morning, up at "Way too early o'clock" to catch the 6:32 out of Dundee, got down to Bolton just…

So I'm pootling around on my 125, and it's great for commuting the 3 miles to work, but I want more. Looking to try for my big boy license, and everywhere I turn people are trying to sell me 14hr+ direct access packages. Not a bad way to make £600, but then I am a cynic. Perhaps I'm just being overconfident, but I've had a car license for 10 years, so I know the rules of the road. I ride to and from work every day in rush hour traffic and I'm not dead yet (6 months now). Is it really that hard to pass your test? I've spoken to a few riders who are family/friends, and they've said take a few lessons then just bang in for your test, see what happens. I'm incline…

Having just suited and gloved up yesterday my phone rang. I got it out of my bag easily enough but then disaster ! The glove material is an electrical insulator so wouldn't activate the touchscreen and I didn't really want to de-glove.but it was an important call that I needed to take. I thought initially that my nose would suffice just to answer the call but regrettably my nose appears to be clad in skin that is also an insulator ( and I have been blessed with a nose that would give Karl Malden a run for his money so hitting the intended spot would have been a challenge anyway ). In desperation I decided that my tongue would have to do. I did manage to answer the call bu…

I need to replace the fork seals on my very nearly finished dt250 so I watched a few videos on YouTube and thought 'piece of cake'. Oh dear, bad mistake. I'm having a mare getting them out. The videos show the guy sliding the inner piece like a slide hammer and they just pop out. My bike doesn't seem to have the same end and the innards just slid out leaving the seals in place! Can anyone recommend a method of removing them? Preferably with no expensive tools. I tried prying them out with a screwdriver which just bent and then tried the same with heating up the fork and still no movement. Any help will be greatly received and thanks in advance....
