So I'm pootling around on my 125, and it's great for commuting the 3 miles to work, but I want more. Looking to try for my big boy license, and everywhere I turn people are trying to sell me 14hr+ direct access packages. Not a bad way to make £600, but then I am a cynic. Perhaps I'm just being overconfident, but I've had a car license for 10 years, so I know the rules of the road. I ride to and from work every day in rush hour traffic and I'm not dead yet (6 months now). Is it really that hard to pass your test? I've spoken to a few riders who are family/friends, and they've said take a few lessons then just bang in for your test, see what happens. I'm incline…

  2. Having just suited and gloved up yesterday my phone rang. I got it out of my bag easily enough but then disaster ! The glove material is an electrical insulator so wouldn't activate the touchscreen and I didn't really want to de-glove.but it was an important call that I needed to take. I thought initially that my nose would suffice just to answer the call but regrettably my nose appears to be clad in skin that is also an insulator ( and I have been blessed with a nose that would give Karl Malden a run for his money so hitting the intended spot would have been a challenge anyway ). In desperation I decided that my tongue would have to do. I did manage to answer the call bu…

  3. I need to replace the fork seals on my very nearly finished dt250 so I watched a few videos on YouTube and thought 'piece of cake'. Oh dear, bad mistake. I'm having a mare getting them out. The videos show the guy sliding the inner piece like a slide hammer and they just pop out. My bike doesn't seem to have the same end and the innards just slid out leaving the seals in place! Can anyone recommend a method of removing them? Preferably with no expensive tools. I tried prying them out with a screwdriver which just bent and then tried the same with heating up the fork and still no movement. Any help will be greatly received and thanks in advance....

  4. hi guys, I'm now the proud owner of a XT125X 2011 however it has a broken speedo. I'm wondering if i need to replace it with one from another 2011 model or if I can use say the clocks from a 2009? thanks!

  6. I own a Yamaha FZS bike, now four years old. I'm experiencing problems during revving up the bike to high speeds. The engine gives up suddenly, the throttle doesn't respond(like what you face when the fuel tank goes dry), but the fuel tank is full, battery is recently charged. Then I need to keep the bike idle for around 10 - 15 minutes, then the engine check light blinks and then i can start the bike again but not for long when this happens again. I have changed the whole electrical wiring twice now but doesn't seem to solve the problem. It works good till a week after servicing the bike, but then this starts again. Please guys help me out to fix this.

I live in Australia and recently purchased a 1985 SRX 600 (1JK model) as a grey import. Great bike however it is running an SRX 400 rear wheel. I have sourced and found an RZ 500 wheel from the same build period that is the correct mag design however it is a 3.00 x 18 whereas the standard wheel is a 2.75 x 18. If someone can assist with info about the compatibility of this larger rim and whether it will be a fit, would be appreciated. I am hoping, given it from the same period, that Yamaha sourced the RZ wheel from the parts bin and therefore most of the hardware from my rim can be swapped over. Thanks

went to Brid on my little 125 yesterday with hubby, and i said to him as we parked up, hope i don't stall on the way out as its a steep hill from the harbour car park! Anyway walked round had the usual fish chips and a cuppa! Got back to the bikes to see a chap on a brand new 125 bike, not sure what make, had all saddlebags, screen etc, he got halfway up the said hill and......stalled! I really felt for him as he kept trying to get it going, his mate behind on a 1300 Suzuki shouting * " what gear you in you plonker" he ignored him but tried again, by this time 3 bikers sat on the wall stood up and started clapping and jeering, i whizzed round after sitting on my bike and …

I had to go into Bradford Town and parked my bike in the usual place outside an Army careers office. When I had done my shit I come back to the bike and my helmet and gloves have been stolen. I went to the army careers to ask if they'd seen out. I always say hello to them when they are having a cig outside so a few of them recognise me. Checked the cameras and the bike is just out of view. Just bought a new pair of motocross gloves as well. Anyway luckily one of the army lads lent me his helmet so I didn't have to pay £20 to get a taxi home to get one of my others. Good job I have a spare. I usually lock the helmet to the handlebars but lately have slacked off, not that I…

Decided to take my newly acquired Draggy for a spin yesterday, lovely sunny day tra la la. Stopped for petrol 1.3 miles from home, paid for petrol, sat on bike, ignition, starter button .... nothing ! To cut a very long story short I called the breakdown / recovery ppl after trying to bump it , the first chap came and couldn't start it with a jump and had the wrong vehicle to lift it, so a second vehicle was called for. In the meantime I decided to text the chap I bought it from to see if he had any ideas .... The 3 magic rules came as the reply 1. Sidestand. 2. Neutral. 3. Kill switch. I chose number 3 and went home calling myself some wonderf…
