Ok, so it started out as a small idea and grew. I AM NOT much of a poet, but I figured I would share anyway. Hey there, long haired motorbike rider, I've envied you since I was small. Dressed up in your boots and leather, Riding like you sure looked like a ball. Hey there, long haired motorbike rider, It was a beautiful day when you rode by me, The sun was out and your chrome was shining. Made me smile because you looked so free. Hey there, long haired motorbike rider, I saw you on the side of the road. We were both broke down, you got yours running, I had to wait for my car to be towed. Hey there, long haired motorbike rider, Its been 25 years an…

Hello all, might sound stupid to a lot you out there, but i'm having trouble knowing what gear i'm in. I drive a dragstar 650 '89 (my first bike, never driven one before!), and i'm constantly trying to remember what gear i'm in. don't seem to hear it... so lots of time, i just go up to 5th, then come down to whatever i need to be in. I saw these gear indicators on the web, but that seems to be only for bikes with electronic speed indicator. Any advice? thanks

just wanted to say hi to all. I'm a fan of the older Yamaha's, I used to work in a Yamaha dealer in a previous life, now I work on aircraft. I have 2 running yams, a XS650 and a SR 500, plus several more in bits, exactly how many is debatable! I have a modest workshop and a lot of experience with these bikes, I also make and test CDi boxes and have quite a collection of specilist electrical info on the older machines. copyright rexs-speedshop.com 2009

hi,newbi here. i have a 535 virago, and while i dont know much about carbs, iam fed up with mine! it can be cleaned, and then if i leave the bike to stand for more than a wk,its a pig! i have seen on the virago tech site, which seems to be mostly american, a manifold conversion into one carb, the manifold is simple to make, but i dont know which carb to get? has anyone tried,or done this?

well folks, the time has come for me to think about buying a cage, within which to safely contain myself away from the bitter cold of winter, and prevent my genitals from shrinking and falling off due to frostbite. now, ive got my theory test booked for the 14th November (was the earliest saturday i could find ) and i will be fitting in practical theory tests around my RAF Training, So my thoughts have now turned to which bitchin' ride i should get. Ideally it needs to be an estate as i will be moving around a lot and need plenty of space (plus all the chavs have hot hatches and they are more expensive to insure), a decent sized engine as i will be doing lots of…

Morning all, I am new, both to the forum and also motorcycling. Apologies if this has been covered before, but just wanted some information from seasoned riders. I got myself a Yamaha YBR 125 Custom in June this year after passing my CBT. This was mainly to commute to work, when breaking it in I was using country lanes (summer was decent, dry weather) so it was great fun. When I broke it in and the weather got worse I started using the A2 road (4 lane A road, practically a motorway in Kent) Here's my question. I appreciate it's a small bike, but the wind really seems to effect my ride. Even at 10mph or so. But when I see other guys (even on 125's Maurader) it doesn'…

I'm not sure what the weather is like in your part of the world, but I think the end of this part of the world is almost here.... so far yesterday ; Keswick was cut off, apart from the Penrith approach. The reality of this is that West Cumbria is only acessable from the south! Sellafield Nuclear site has sent non-escential staff home as a result of torrential rainfall and high winds, We had 15 servere flood warnings in place for north cumbria, 14 Flood Watches, Carlisle public park (a big field thing in the middle of town) was under water, as was the Golf course (no loss there then) an may outlying fields, Keswick was only dry as a result of …
