as one or two of you may be aware, i`m trying to reserect a bag of bolts into an XS400. i am at the stage now where i may have to buy from abroad for a few parts and i am concerned. this could be my first time buying from abroad. we all know of someone who has been conned or fiddled by scammers abroad... what i would like to know is what i need to look out for when buying from overseas. what have you lot come across?? who should i avoid? do you lot know of any companies that give a very bad service to thier overseas buyers??? are there any really good companies that you lot can recommend??? in particular exhaust companies..... it`s a sad state of …

i am currently restoring this bike and would like to add a few performance parts, aftermarket header, aggressive cams, etc. i am having difficulty tracking down any parts for this bike and any help would be very much appreciated. in it's stock form the bike ran 11.70's and would love to get it down to a low 11 or possibly a high 10. thanks.

Hello All!! I just bought my second bike at the age of 60 so I'm learning everthing anew. I'm also a complete computer luddite so apologies in advance for delayed replies as I've had these typing fingers for sixty years and I can't do a thing with them! By the by, are you all Brits here? I think I qualify, as the first time I "rode" a motorbike was sitting on the gastank of my grandfather's BSA in Fermangh,NI in the 1950's. Very fond memories, indeed. I don't quite understand how a group of Brit gearheads can be so witty- I'm constantly laughing at the repartee. All the best, and apologies for my Trimph riding brother in New York!!

hey, This is my first winter with a bike, and I wasn't sure if they needed any special care during the colder months. Basically, I'm gonna be away for about a month, so I was just wandering if there is anything I should do to prevent the bike from becoming damaged due to the cold, especially since it won't be used for a while. I don't have anywhere to store it inside so my options might be limited. cheers!

Hello, i'm looking to buy a set of handlebar pull back risers for my dragstar 650. I'm a bit (to say the least..) confused about size... I find a lot of riser sets on internet dealers, but like 90 % is for harley..... also don't want to order in the states, i'm not so patient to wait for 8 weeks or so. Basically, the diameter of the risers i have now is 32 mm (so 1 1/4 inch i guess). Is that some kind of standard in motorcycles, or are sizes between brands different? Also, when they speak of 4 inch risers, is that 4 inch from the point of the upper plate, or from bottom of the riser (as they are still more than 1 inch inside the upper ball plate.. So as you see, …
