Folks, sorry if this is inappropriate, but: Screw eBay! www.bikesforbikers.co.uk is now open for business! Like most of you probably, we (me & 2 mates) were getting pissed off with eBay's monopoly. SOOOOO…. My mate had the brilliant idea of starting our own auction site, exclusively for bikes & bike parts. We’ve spent the last few days setting it all up, and it’s live NOW. It’s “under development”, and also remember that we don’t have eb*y’s coffers, so it’s a simple set up, so it’s not as slick, but it does everything we think we need!

I have a Seca 2, 1993. The tail light has gone out recently, but after attempting to replace the bulb, I discovered that it still didn't work. With both bulbs the brake light continues to work. I feel that this is some kind of wiring issue, but after thumbing like a 3rd grader in graduate school through my service manual, I don't think I know the first thing about checking the wiring. I have a voltage meter, and know how to to use it. Can someone give me a nudge in the right direction of which parts I should check, and how? A second problem that I believe to be unrelated: occasionally when I go to turn the bike on, I put the bike in neutral and hit the ignition switch,…

Hey there guys. After many months trying to sort my FZ400 1985 out for MOT, i finally thought it was ready to go. So I booked it on monday and took the wee beastie on the 15mile trip there. All went well with brakes, lights, bearings and the general workings of the bike until..... drip drip drip drip. MOT guy noticed a fuel leak pissing all over the side casing. Nooooo it was going so well. After inspection noticed the fuel pipe connected to the carbs had a split in it. Thank god the guy was easy going. We took the tank off and cut the split off. It was my fault for using cheap jubilee clips. After the disaster it passed with flying colours. Just need to get it taxed and …

on my 1974 dt175 i have the mikuni carb with the round slide. anyhow it has come time for me to buy some parts for it, float gasket, mostly. but i figured as long as i was at it i would finally buy a main jet. my air filter is pretty much one of the cone ones. and when i got the carb it had a lump of lead blocking the jet intake and a regular bolt in the banjo bolt hole. (basically it had a fully clogged main jet.) i removed the lead and fashioned a cap for the opening so as to allow fuel to be able to flow into the main jet intake area. but without a main jet installed, (never had one) it tends to run really rich, even with the throttle needle in the top notch. i wa…

My midlife crisis came later than most so I bought a Dragstar 650 I know about bikes from many years ago so my know-how may be out of date, but here goes I cannot move/pull out the choke cable.. The choke cable is free in it's outer cable but the lever it is supposed to move is solid it only moves about 1/8 inch As I said I may be out of date but isn't the lever which the choke cable is attached to supposed to move because mine doesn't. cheers

An elderly man walked into a jewellery store one Friday evening with a beautiful young blonde at his side. He told the jeweller he was looking for a special ring for his girlfriend. The jeweller looked through his stock and brought out a £5,000 ring. The old man said, "Oh no, surely that's not the best that you have?" Hearing that, the jeweller went to his special stock and brought another ring over. "Here's a stunning ring at only £40,000," he said. The young lady's eyes sparkled and her whole body trembled with excitement. The old man seeing this said, "We'll take it." The jeweller asked how payment would be made and the old man said, "By cheque. I know…

Some financial matters came together this last week...& I must say that I've got a great wife 'cuz she gave me enough cash to add this to my 2-Wheel collection..... I'd been watching this on CraigsList for the past 3 months.....& actually test rode it 2 weeks ago...hit it off right away with the seller....who's an avid Pedal Mechanic (bicycles). So I rang him up on Saturday & got him to take $1800 plus my trusty old Gitane..... It's an '88 XT600 with less than 9k on the clock....so plenty of life left in her... For me, it's a perfect starting platform for a SuperMoto project.... best part is the most expensive parts (wheels &am…

A father walks into a restaurant with his young son.. He gives the young boy three 10p coins to play with to keep him occupied. Suddenly, the boy starts choking, going blue in the face.. The father realizes the boy has swallowed the coins and starts slapping him on the back.. The boy coughs up 2 of the 10p's, but keeps choking. Looking at his son, the father is panicking, shouting for help. A well dressed, attractive, and serious looking woman, in a blue business suit is sitting at a coffee bar reading a newspaper and sipping a cup of coffee. At the sound of the commotion, she looks up, puts her coffee cup down, neatly folds the n…
