Hi guys, im sorry if this post isn't supposed to be here, but right now I just sat down with a beer trying to figure what the hell is going on with my yamaha. Ive had issues from day focking 1 with this bike and today the damn bike broke down on me after sitting in the sun for a few hours (it was quite hot). I rode it to work this morning, no problems, rode home, no problems. Since the weather were good I left it outside while eating dinner, but when I was ready to set off, it fired up like normal, but died pretty quick. Id say it ran for about 5 sec and then died. She did NOT want to start after that, and it didn't prime the fuel pump when I turned on the ignition …

  2. to Yamaha ownership. I just sold my auld Triumph and now I have some money burning a hole in my pocket I am happy to go £3k on a bike and would be looking at something like an XS650. This is based on my mate owning one back in the early 80s when I had my 1st Triumph. I liked the look of them then, and still do Any thoughts or opinions

following on from a few topics on here, and on a couple of other forums i am on, i am going to start a ''ARE YOU WILLING TO HELP'' thread. i have read a few topics about people needing things done to their vehicle but due to the owners lack of ability or knowledge or confidence then they have either put the work off and made it worse or sent it to a garage to get the work done. for example one of the guys on a off roading forum i am on wanted to fit a lift kit to his car, springs, spacers, new shocks. i have done it and he is only a few miles away, he was quoted just shy of £400 to get it fitted. after some discussion i said i was happy to help him fit it if he came…

It's been a while since I started a new post, so thought I'd share my new toy! Picked it up last week, I'm 30 this year so I thought balls to it and had a brand new bike. Gone for the new speed twin... Pics attached. All I'll say is that it's awesome, torque for days, nice and easy to ride - even at a spirited pace Sorry it's not a yam [emoji851] Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

I've had enough carrying a backpack just to carry my waterproofs and disc lock, can anyone recommend a smallish tail bag I can leave permanently on the bike?

Hi I'm in the process of rebuilding a Yam XT 250 1981. The bike was dressed up to used in a war film by a company (Classic Cars 99) who supplied vehicles to the film industry. This bike was modified to have a camera set up on it and beefed up for jumps. It seem that the steering yoke has been changed possibly 500. I've bought a replacement bottom yoke but not a top one. The problem I have is that the clock ( two circle ones) fit into a base which bolts to the top yoke but the centres don't match up. So it either the a different top yoke or I got the wrong clocks? I think the centres on the yoke is 100mm and the clock base is 120mm. Any thoughts

  14. So I believe the KTM lc2 125 Engine is a clone copy of the DTR 125, but I read that the KTM top end is more powerful due to the power valve and porting, has anyone tried fitting one to a DTR and does it improve performance?

Scratching my head trying to get the bike running but no spark from the coil, have checked all the wiring all seems good, currently getting around 5v to the coil from the cdi but i dont know if thats enough. Resistance readings at the coil and the source and pulser coils are lower than haynes manual says they should be. I dont want to just throw a cdi at it and hope although Ive got one on the way just incase.

Spoke with Andy (elvis fan) yesterday. As of 3pm yesterday his green SR, yes the 80mph plus SR was nicked and left burned out. Wished him well but still sucks. He had just given it the works too. Chain, fork seals, oil and filters. Even had a full tank of gas. I hope the scum die of something painful.

I've had enough of listening to the droning noise from the akropovic on my commutes and have just ordered some 'better' foam ear plugs (Hearos Xtreme Protection NRR 33). I'm now thinking I should have gone down the custom route, is anyone using them?

Mot done. All clear. Season begins. I was in the garage fixing the ruddy indicators that decided to stop working till after 10 last night when I was double checking. All I could find in my spares box was a relay from a mk2 escort. Worked would you believe it, older than the tdr same connections etc. Now you can hear the plink plik as they work.

Hello legends, I picked up an old AG175 in 3 boxes :) and over the last year I’ve been working towards getting it back on the road, however I’m stumped on where these 3 bits go. Below is a link to my iCloud thing where I’ve shared the image. can you let me know if any look familiar:) Link to image Thanks! Rich

Evening all, Does anyone know if the rear shock unit used on the '83 XT 250 is the same as was used on any other bikes at the time - am thinking of DT 250 MX/DT 175 MX, or Yam IT of some size, or maybe an early XT 350 ? Looking to replace the stock one already on a bike, but most suppliers don't list the "pre-Monocross" (linkage-style suspension) system XT's in their models ranges. Cheers guys.
