  1. Hi guys, just wondering if you could help me. The thread on my front calliper in which the bleed nipple sits has gone gone; and I was just wondering if anyone could suggest an alternative front calliper because trying to source an original has proven to be difficult. any advice would be appreciated, Jess

Hello, ive just got myself a completely standard 2001 imported dt125. I’ve been looking at dep exhausts for a better noise and possibly better performance? Any one know if they make much difference and weather it’s worth changing the front pipe as well or just go with the silencer on it’s own? thanks in advance lee

  4. Hi, I am thinking about buying this motorcycle I have found used for a good price. It's in good condition, very well maintained. My concern is the cruising speed. I intend to use it for longish trips. I need something that I can cruise at 90kph (55mph) for several hours without issue. Someone told me that at these speeds with this bike I would need to stop every hour or so and let the engine cool. (I do live in a warm weather zone) So I guess it's two questions really, firstly what is the top speed can you comfortably cruise for longer distances on one of these bikes, and how big of an issue is overheating? PS: I suppose I could also gear up and put in a smaller…

I’m currently sat under a tarp near Mont Blanc - I’m camping at the foot of a glacier in fact, and there’s a silent thunderstorm going on around me. So it feels like a suitable time to admit something to you guys... Not long after our Wales weekend I found myself on a rare mid-week rideout on a very hot day. I had always planned a Europe tour for this year (currently on it), and by all intents and purposes I was doing it on my F800GT. The mid-week ride was to focus my mind and think about what I’d need to comfortably execute my 16 day camp trip in a self-sufficient manner. So anyway, I wheel my bike out my lock-up and for only the 2nd time in my riding life I had a flat…

  6. Wanted to drive the bike into work last week. Turned over for 5 secs but didn't want to start first go (its been 3 weeks or so since last start). Then all power went. I have had batteries start to struggle a bit to give you a bit of notice but not this one. The 5 secs cranking just completely killed it off. It is completely dead and the charger doesn't even register ....... "it is an ex-battery" 🙃 New one one the way now but was pretty miffed I missed my ride.

Has anyone ever bought a new Yamaha and it arrived with lots of blobs of bright green paint on it? My son had his new MT125 delivered yesterday and there were spots of green paint all over it. The dealer said that they came from Yamaha like that and showed that the nuts had been tightened properly. However the paint was not just on nuts. It was on wiring, handlebars and tyres. It was a bit messy. My big question was why weren't these removed in pre delivery valet. No satisfactory answer. It was someone else's fault.

So about a couple of years back i traded an old Honda project for a fairly decent Yamaha DT100 LT2 which i though would make a great base for a project. Only just got round to starting it, i am by no means an expert mechanic i have picked up a few things over the years but decided its in my best interest to join up a forum to seek advice from people that are more knowledgeable than me 😁 over the next few months i am hoping to post up pictures https://drive.google.com/file/d/12Q77UiutTiY2a7-m2Ds3oJpLh6aAtjG6/view?usp=drivesdk of the process in getting it road worthy and registered on an age related plate :) and hope to make many friends along the way

Don't know about anybody else but I have clocked up a few miles this winter. I have done my time being a full time motorcyclist and much as people may say otherwise, for me, fuck that!. My car is cheaper, quicker (yes if you include putting all your gear on, unlocking the garage, then the bike etc) and warm and dry. But I have been out using the bike. Bloody good it feels too. Its cold granted but the roads on the whole of late have been salt free and relatively clear of the usual winter slime. Even some sunshine. I know it cant last and Feb will blast us, or March for a late frosting who knows. But for now, yay.

I have recently purchased a Yamaha FS1 from the Netherlands that I want to register in the U.K. I sent the identification number stamped on the chassis to YMUK and customer service have replied they cannot identify the chassis number and have no record of the machine, they suggested that I try a owners club for help. the identification number stamped on the machine is 2RU093093. i would appreciate any help to be able to register my machine in the uk. Thanks in advance

  13. Rich back on two wheels Trying to find the best, most recommended or the most SUITABLE 2 stroke engine oil. I've searched the for Yamahas recommended 2 stroke oil for my 1986 Yamaha RD350LC and come up with no definitive answer? at the moment I'm unsure which would be the best? possibly MOTUL 2T 100 mineral or maybe one of the Castrol brands, Activo 2T, Power 1 2T or Power 1 racing 2T OR maybe there is a better alternative altogether? I would love to hear from anyone in the know on this one. any responses are much appreciated. plus I'm in a bit of a predicament, as although I've seen the seat removed before and I have the key for the lock which turns b…

Hello guys, new to the forum. Just added an MT03 to me collection and although I like this bike it does seem under geared. 5000 rpm brings 70 mph. Most other bikes seem to aim for 4000 rpm at 70. I'm wondering if the previous owner changed a sprocket. Anybody know what standard sizes were on a 2012 model? Also, it is fitted with Leo Vince exhaust and bangs a lot on overrun until fuel has burnt. Is there a fix for this?

  19. Started by slice,

Just thinking about Cynic saying he had a low range on his new bike, so looked up what was out there to extend your range if your a bit too enthusiastic with the throttle! So I found this guy who, apart from the poxy music, seemed to have a couple of good ideas. If we do go for the "YOC does Italy" option this might work if we carried a couple just in case. Also it is illegal to carry a "soft" type of fuel bladder in the UK and Europe, or so I'm informed.
