  1. Started by 2 SMOKE,

So about a couple of years back i traded an old Honda project for a fairly decent Yamaha DT100 LT2 which i though would make a great base for a project. Only just got round to starting it, i am by no means an expert mechanic i have picked up a few things over the years but decided its in my best interest to join up a forum to seek advice from people that are more knowledgeable than me 😁 over the next few months i am hoping to post up pictures https://drive.google.com/file/d/12Q77UiutTiY2a7-m2Ds3oJpLh6aAtjG6/view?usp=drivesdk of the process in getting it road worthy and registered on an age related plate :) and hope to make many friends along the way

Don't know about anybody else but I have clocked up a few miles this winter. I have done my time being a full time motorcyclist and much as people may say otherwise, for me, fuck that!. My car is cheaper, quicker (yes if you include putting all your gear on, unlocking the garage, then the bike etc) and warm and dry. But I have been out using the bike. Bloody good it feels too. Its cold granted but the roads on the whole of late have been salt free and relatively clear of the usual winter slime. Even some sunshine. I know it cant last and Feb will blast us, or March for a late frosting who knows. But for now, yay.

Hi everyone. I'm new to this scene but looking to get into it. Just wondered if anyone had any info about launch date and prices for the Tricity 300? (Sorry I know it's a 3 wheeler). I've tried dealers but no luck so far. Thanks

I have recently purchased a Yamaha FS1 from the Netherlands that I want to register in the U.K. I sent the identification number stamped on the chassis to YMUK and customer service have replied they cannot identify the chassis number and have no record of the machine, they suggested that I try a owners club for help. the identification number stamped on the machine is 2RU093093. i would appreciate any help to be able to register my machine in the uk. Thanks in advance

  6. Rich back on two wheels Trying to find the best, most recommended or the most SUITABLE 2 stroke engine oil. I've searched the for Yamahas recommended 2 stroke oil for my 1986 Yamaha RD350LC and come up with no definitive answer? at the moment I'm unsure which would be the best? possibly MOTUL 2T 100 mineral or maybe one of the Castrol brands, Activo 2T, Power 1 2T or Power 1 racing 2T OR maybe there is a better alternative altogether? I would love to hear from anyone in the know on this one. any responses are much appreciated. plus I'm in a bit of a predicament, as although I've seen the seat removed before and I have the key for the lock which turns b…

Hello guys, new to the forum. Just added an MT03 to me collection and although I like this bike it does seem under geared. 5000 rpm brings 70 mph. Most other bikes seem to aim for 4000 rpm at 70. I'm wondering if the previous owner changed a sprocket. Anybody know what standard sizes were on a 2012 model? Also, it is fitted with Leo Vince exhaust and bangs a lot on overrun until fuel has burnt. Is there a fix for this?

Just thinking about Cynic saying he had a low range on his new bike, so looked up what was out there to extend your range if your a bit too enthusiastic with the throttle! So I found this guy who, apart from the poxy music, seemed to have a couple of good ideas. If we do go for the "YOC does Italy" option this might work if we carried a couple just in case. Also it is illegal to carry a "soft" type of fuel bladder in the UK and Europe, or so I'm informed.

I’ve just picked up my Yamaha DT50MX bought in 1988, used for a year, and then stored at my parents for the last 31 years with a view to getting it up and running again! All told it’s in pretty good nick. It’s not been started for 5+ years, needs a little TLC and some attention to get it looking great again! One thing that has dawned on me is given it’s a 2 stroke, what needs to be done to convert it to run on unleaded? Any advice or pointers to assistance would be much appreciated. I’ve tried googling the answer but cannot find much. Many thanks in advance.

Starting a restore project on a 1979 XS750 Special. So far I've mostly cleaned everything under the seat and tank. I removed carbs today and found a great deal of oil in right side of triple. That means I have a bad petcock on that side allowing too much fuel to enter and flood chamber bringing oil back to the carb. No problem since I plan on rebuilding them anyway. Should I rebuild carbs or can I get away with just cleaning them? Also ordering starter and flasher relays since I'm having electrical issues with lights and etc. Just installed a new battery cover/fuse box. The old one had been removed and was direct wired in the most horrific way imaginable. I figured it wa…

I recently acquired a 1976 RS 100C with less than 5K miles. It doesn't need much attention, but I want to replace the tires. The bike came with a 2.5-18/front and 2.75-18/rear. The Owner's Manual says these were the proper tires, but my Haynes Workshop Manual says 2.75-18/front and 3.00-18/rear. Can anyone tell me which is correct and/or recommended. I'd like to stay as close to "original" as possible. Thanks, Bob

Question - I'm looking at an mt03, stolen/recovered. Keys are present but steering lock is broken and ignition barrel is not with the bike. Would I need new keys, lock, barrel AND ecu or would a replacement ignition barrel and keys work with the current ecu? A new set of everything is over £900 which I want to avoid.

So after the last YOC meet up and rolling round the roads of Wales I think it's time for me to uprate the rear shock on the FJR, this is because I did find myself yoyoing round some of the wonderful bends in Wales. Apparently the OE rear shock on the FJR is known for being a bit under sprung and as it's one I bought used from France some years ago I figured it was time for a bit of an upgrade, anyway I went to the FJ owners club the other day and got a sparkly new YSS shock for the bike, pretty bloody amazing difference in corners and it does not squat down anymore when I give it the beans. Plus I can now alter the ride height and the rebound which the standard shock lack…
