  3. So I just bought a 2008 MT03 660 with 3,000 miles in hilariously good condition. Thing is all stock with no new parts or mods. I love the position and torque and knew full well it would be a vibey Bike. However at about 5000 RPMs the vibe is so intrusive that I get blurred vision, a bit of a chatter in my teeth, and am left with a headache the next day. Is there any way to combat this? I’m mostly a B-road rider, but do also cruise at 50/55 mph. I regularly enjoy rising 8-hour days and your Europe so headaches the whole time sucks. I love the bike, torque, pop and punch, etc - but not sure I can put up with how bad the vibrations are. Seat gel? Rubber mounting? …

Hey all - just wondering whether any of you have bothered to fit a louder horn onto your bikes at any point? I’m not really one to go around tooting at everyone and anyone, but particularly during the winter months I like to know I can be as obvious to people as possible if needed. Anyway - I’m heading to Germany this weekend on the bike and took the opportunity to buy one of these Soundbomb Mini horns. For under £30, and a direct replacement, I thought it was worth a shot. My bike is a sports tourer (and a BMW), so direct replacement it was not. I needed to buy an additional wire so that it would work with the CAN bus and then bend the metal bracket somewhat to ensur…

Started of ok, plan was to buid a summer house down the bottom of the garden. That was kicked into touch as my youngest (33) got thrown from one of her horses and broke a leg. The old man had to step up and spent the spring/summer looking after 4 horses and the dog. Thankfully, shes now almost fully recovered. The accident meant that my plans for half a dozen trackdays had to be abandoned, so the recently fitted full fairing and power commander never saw track action. However, I did manage to get 2 days at Donny Park, one in sept and one in oct. I was dead lucky again with the weather on both, and had 2 smashing days out. The second was Leon Haslam trackday, and I went to…

Morning guys just got hold of a 77 rs100 and trying to get it running. Is a non runner at the mo and needs various things doing. One issue at the mo is with the clutch pushrod. I can't get correct adjustment on it I've removed the pushrod and found no ball bearing so ive fitted that and now I can turn the adjuster so it just touches the end of the rod but it goes so far into the case I can't put the lock nut on ! Iam thinking the previous owner has fitted the incorrect length push rod in it? Anyone know the correct length for a 77 rs100? Anything else I might have missed? Cheers

Hi I've just joined. I've got a 1992 Diversion that I built up from a box of bits 5 years ago. I use it as a winter bike and it has now done 59000 miles. It has always had a clunky gearbox - the worst I've ever experienced - and the timing chain tensioner has no adjustment left so I've decided to change the engine for a lower mileage one. The engine in the bike has a number that starts with 4BR which is the Yamaha model number. The new engine I've got starts 4DU and seems identical in every way. What is Yamaha model 4DU and what are the differences between the two engines. Can any one help please? msdavidson

I was given a YB100 years ago as part of a thanks for a fabricating job i done for a friend of mine, it stood in bits in his garage for years before he gave it to me, he says it is not stolen, he said he never registered it as it was in bits when he got it and meant to restore it but just never found the time, i have no documents, no number plates. BUT I DO HAVE THE FRAME AND ENGINE NUMBERS and was told it had 2 previous owners, can anyone help or advise me if i can track down its original number plate as i hope to re-register and restore it for my son, i have spoken to the DVLA, they told me i have to rebuild it first, photograph it and submit all the identification numb…

I have a random problem as the title suggests. I bought a sr125 recently and knew it had an issue with the speedo not working.. but the bike ran great so was happy. I've realised since riding around the block to figure out whats going on that the odometer is actually going backwards?? How is this possible? The speedo cable is fine if i turn the cable then the speedo works and turn it for long enough the odometer goes up correctly but for some reason my speedo drive is running backwards? Has something been set up incorrectly on the front end? It's a 94 model with disc brake at the front only. Any input would be greatly received.. Tia

Hello all, I’m a newbie to the forum, bikes and Yamahas. I found an old 1989 Yamaha YB100 Deluxe in a barn on my wife’s farm. It’s been sat there for some time and I managed to persuade her to let me take it home for some TLC. Whoever left it did so with fuel still in ??‍♂️. Going off the DVLA MOT checker it last ran out of MOT in 2014 with the same mileage on the clock as it has now, so has literally been stood. So far I’ve: - changed the fuel filters - drained the tank - replaced some fuel line - cleaned the carb - cleaned the float and float bowl - reset the pilot air screw - reset the oil pump setting - got it through an MOT It does run and runs fine at…

Long story short, for some unknown reason the throttle cable was stolen from my Yamaha Mt-03. I'm having trouble installing the new one as I have no idea where the cable was routed. Is it common for them to go under the fuel tank? Thanks, Raj

Help needed! The sight glass on my trusty Dragstar Custom needs replacing, but doesn't seem to be available without having to buy whole master cylinder. Second hand units are hard to come by and mostly seem to be available from the US as V-Star version. Can anyone tell me if this is a suitable replacement please? It's also been suggested that the oil sight glass could be used. This is available as a separate item to buy, again does anyone have any knowledge of whether this could be used? Thanks in advance Jude

  16. Dear Yamaha fans, long story short I have brought a Yamaha YZF-R 125 from Switzerland to the UK. The bike belonged to my son, I know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about motorcycles. The bike clearly has to be made UK-compliant, for example the headlights have to be modified so that the dipped beam is in the correct position. However one huge item is a module which "converts" the european "dashboard" from kilometers travelled and KPH to miles travelled and MPH. The dealer says that a UK bike would already have such a module to permit conversion but European bikes do not have that module and hence I need to buy one as part of UK compliance. The stock code is "5D7H35001300". And a cost…

Hi Guys I'm after peoples opinions if you don't mind... I am having an issue at the moment with my XVS950. It starts up fine on a morning and when its been stood for a while and is cold. The problem comes when you ride it for an extended period (say half an hour), the bike wont start back up until its totally cooled off... It's happened twice recently and both times after a 30 minute ride...it gets 10 minute rides everyday twice a day and there is no issue...starts every time but ride it for 30 minutes and it struggles to start back up if you don't leave it for at least an hour... The people I've spoken to think its the starter motor....like its over…
