Hi there, I have a Thundercat which is running hot when stationary (i.e. in traffic). The fan doesn't kick in until well into the red which I understand is common but it has actually boiled over before now. I am going to change the thermo switch for a lower operating spec switch so just canvassing opinion on what would be the optimum temperature for the engine to run at please? Any information greatly appreciated, Cheers, Lee

  3. {{if $formValue}} {$value} {{endif}} Following a test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya three weeks ago, the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP Team return to Barcelona for round seven of the MotoGP World Championship. After securing a third place at the Mugello circuit, being serenaded by the Italian crowds, and simultaneously taking over second place in the championship rankings, Valentino Rossi is ready to commence the championship battle in Barcelona. The Doctor has a 23-point margin to the leader in the standings and hopes to strengthen his position as a title contender this weekend at a circuit that he knows like the back of his hand. Off to sunny Hull tomorrow to hopefully pick up a TDM850. Its a '96 mk2 model with the 270' crossplane crank and has aftermarket 2 in 1 pipe and blue spot brakes. its done 40k miles and has had a local respray in white and green. I've booked the national express as its only £15 (£48 on train) and get there 13:20. hope it checks out then I can ride to squires and have a look round the show. so I either could be stuck in Hull with no bike or zooming along the queens highway with a new bike. watch this space

Hi there, just joined the site. I recently bought a 2009 WR125 and the engine light is permanently on, not flashing. The last owner said this happened when somebody knocked the bike over. Im also having problems with the neutral light, sometimes the bike doesn't recognise when it is in neutral. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The bike seems to be running well. Many thanks, Nick

Hello, my name is Harvey and I own a 1987 Yamaha dt50mx that I am currently restoring. The old barrel on the bike was scortched and getting piston slap so I decided to buy a 70cc airsal kit. I found out that the VM20-273 mikuni carbs are recommended for my setup but was unable to find out what I should have my needel height or pilot jet set to. If anyone has any known information on this please leave a reply - Harvey

  13. Started by Malky,

Hi guys, my wife and I are both 5’9” tall in our 50s and fed up with only being able to ride for about 1 1/2 hours before being in discomfort. Wanting a tourer (just back into bikes after 30 years) rather than use my Thunderace I bought the beemer for 2 up riding. It’s ok for short trips up to an hour and a half but a 2 hour trip at the weekend was no fun..... and it was a nice sunny day! With a budget of around £5,000 any ideas? I’ve no objection to any make or age - we just want to lose the discomfort. I’d thought of a Goldwing / F6C but don’t want to lose the essence of using the bike and getting wedged in traffic. Thanks in advance, Malcolm

rHi Guys So I'm wanting to start working on my XVS950 myself instead of paying someone else to do it.... Whats the best way to start learning? I've seen the Clymer Service & Repair Manual but is this any good? Would it help a total noob get started and be able to do things like replacing brake discs etc..? Any help would be appreciated.

Well, little shocked tbh. Long storey short, last week discovered that the mk4 Mondeo actually has a hybrid camchain/cambelt thing going on. I thought it was chain like the mk3. Thing is its supposed to be changed well before 125000 or 5 years. The punch? mine is 150+ and 10 years old. Woah. So the tank got parked till i can do the timing belt which will be Saturday and i figured I'd just use the bike full time for a fortnight. Was a bit nippy a couple of times, and very wet on a couple of others but I'm riding the bike, yay. Even though i do need to be up 15min earlier to have time to unlock the garage/bike etc and put all the crap on. The bit i did…

  17. GRT Yamaha Official WorldSSP Team's Lucas Mahias leaves Round 4 of the 2018 Supersport World Championship at Assen still leading the overall standings after a strong ride to fourth, although he was disappointed not to be able to fight for the race win on Sunday. His teammate Federico Caricasulo was pushing as hard as he could during the race before contact with another rider saw him crash out while battling in the leading group. In the European Supersport Cup, Alfonso Coppola made a strong start but faded towards the end of the race to finish in 20th place. Mahias struggled to find the perfect setup in Aragon and, unfortunately, he suffered from a similar issue throu…
