Off to sunny Hull tomorrow to hopefully pick up a TDM850. Its a '96 mk2 model with the 270' crossplane crank and has aftermarket 2 in 1 pipe and blue spot brakes. its done 40k miles and has had a local respray in white and green. I've booked the national express as its only £15 (£48 on train) and get there 13:20. hope it checks out then I can ride to squires and have a look round the show. so I either could be stuck in Hull with no bike or zooming along the queens highway with a new bike. watch this space

Hi there, just joined the site. I recently bought a 2009 WR125 and the engine light is permanently on, not flashing. The last owner said this happened when somebody knocked the bike over. Im also having problems with the neutral light, sometimes the bike doesn't recognise when it is in neutral. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The bike seems to be running well. Many thanks, Nick

Hello, my name is Harvey and I own a 1987 Yamaha dt50mx that I am currently restoring. The old barrel on the bike was scortched and getting piston slap so I decided to buy a 70cc airsal kit. I found out that the VM20-273 mikuni carbs are recommended for my setup but was unable to find out what I should have my needel height or pilot jet set to. If anyone has any known information on this please leave a reply - Harvey

Hi guys, my wife and I are both 5’9” tall in our 50s and fed up with only being able to ride for about 1 1/2 hours before being in discomfort. Wanting a tourer (just back into bikes after 30 years) rather than use my Thunderace I bought the beemer for 2 up riding. It’s ok for short trips up to an hour and a half but a 2 hour trip at the weekend was no fun..... and it was a nice sunny day! With a budget of around £5,000 any ideas? I’ve no objection to any make or age - we just want to lose the discomfort. I’d thought of a Goldwing / F6C but don’t want to lose the essence of using the bike and getting wedged in traffic. Thanks in advance, Malcolm

rHi Guys So I'm wanting to start working on my XVS950 myself instead of paying someone else to do it.... Whats the best way to start learning? I've seen the Clymer Service & Repair Manual but is this any good? Would it help a total noob get started and be able to do things like replacing brake discs etc..? Any help would be appreciated.

Well, little shocked tbh. Long storey short, last week discovered that the mk4 Mondeo actually has a hybrid camchain/cambelt thing going on. I thought it was chain like the mk3. Thing is its supposed to be changed well before 125000 or 5 years. The punch? mine is 150+ and 10 years old. Woah. So the tank got parked till i can do the timing belt which will be Saturday and i figured I'd just use the bike full time for a fortnight. Was a bit nippy a couple of times, and very wet on a couple of others but I'm riding the bike, yay. Even though i do need to be up 15min earlier to have time to unlock the garage/bike etc and put all the crap on. The bit i did…

I’m also changing the battery to a lithium ion too. Any help will be appreciated, thanks G

  12. GRT Yamaha Official WorldSSP Team's Lucas Mahias leaves Round 4 of the 2018 Supersport World Championship at Assen still leading the overall standings after a strong ride to fourth, although he was disappointed not to be able to fight for the race win on Sunday. His teammate Federico Caricasulo was pushing as hard as he could during the race before contact with another rider saw him crash out while battling in the leading group. In the European Supersport Cup, Alfonso Coppola made a strong start but faded towards the end of the race to finish in 20th place. Mahias struggled to find the perfect setup in Aragon and, unfortunately, he suffered from a similar issue throu…

Hello everybody, so today was on my 2nd time riding on the road, after passing my cbt, all was going well until I noticed It had no power in 5th and as I went to change to 4th as the clutch was In the engine cutout, pulled over at the side of the road and the top end was smoking engine doesn't want to start, got it home, took the tappet covers off and its all solid nothing moves and it stunk when we removed the covers, just wondering if anybody had any ideas as to what needs to be done and what caused it. Spark plug was an okay colour milage is 16k.

LOL, Went out on the bike today, rolling down the dual carriageway in a world of my own at around 60 a car slows opposite as were braking for the roundabout. Out of the window the muppet in the passenger seat shouts.. quoting here... " Awww flat out, go get a proper bike i could go faster on a pushbike" 3 lads (heavy on the lads, barely out of school, if at all) in a crappy Renault something, could have been a Vauxhall. So round the roundabout and i stayed with them. I could have lost out if it had been a sporty something but there was a 'black box fitted' sticker in the back window (by daddy no doubt) so i pulled up behind em and stayed there.. 50, 60, lo…

Hello! New guy here, Ive been told to join by my Yamaha dealer......he said you all may be able to help. This is the first port of call other than usual Google trawling to no avail. I have a indulged myself with a new project (supposed to be over the winter but now for the summer). I've had a few bikes in the past but this is by far my favourite! It is a qt50. Tiny little moped, 50cc 2 stroke, single sided shaft drive. Bulletproof reliability and slow as fuck. I love it to bits. The problem Is, its been bought on a whim and the v5 vin lined up with the sticker on the painted over frame. Engine number was different (swapped engine at some point, no…

Just having the warning light come on only indicates a problem but not what the problem is or which sensor is being activated. This is really ridiculous. I stopped at a shop. They changed the oil. I stopped at another shop they added brake fluid. I was on a long drive up over the mountains to my home in northern Thailand. The light came on again, stopped at another shop. They shrugged their shoulders and said I should just try to make it home. I did but with great anxiety. I called a mechanic friend of mine and he gave me this advice. Hope this helps.... Have you checked the air filter? . Check the coolant fluid reservoir. It is behind the big front cover under the …

Hi All, I have an issue with emergency lights on my MT-07. Few weeks ago I replaced rear indicators with LED versions and did the same with front ones over the weekend. They work fine when indicating left or right, all blink once or twice when I arm or disarm the alarm, but when I try emergency lights they only blink once and stop. Any ideas? Thanks, Jacob
