Newbie here so please be patient hahaha At a crossroads now as to which bike im gonna go with. I've whittled it down to two. YZ125 or YZ250F (New most likely and leaning towards the 250F) Skill level.. Noob. I've heard the "buy cheap and work your way up" many times. So please leave that bit out of any posts pleasee ? Whats the best "servicing" process do you guys and gals go through after every ride or so too? i do understand the level of up-keep on these competition bikes is extensive but im really looking for the absolute best process and best products to use. Dont worry about budget products. I'm really looking for the perfect process and who…

Recently having a baby and being a born again rider I thought I had better brush up on my road craft. Unlike the UK there is no advanced rider organisations like the IAM or BMF, or with the local police force like the BikeSafe workshops. So last Saturday I took the first stage of the Advanced course with Honda Australia Rider Training (HART) in St Ives, NSW. Assuming I'd be the only Yamaha rider, out of the six students on the course there was a wide range of bikes, MT09, MT09 Tracer, CBR600RR, BMW R1200 Adventure, Classic Harley and a Kymco 550 Maxi-Scooter. The HART training facility was purpose-built for police driver training in the early 1960s. Due to this …

{{if $formValue}} {$value} {{endif}} Movistar Yamaha MotoGP's Valentino Rossi turned his fortunes around today at the eyetime Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich, claiming a strong 6th place after a superb comeback race. Maverick Viñales had a more challenging outing at the Red Bull Ring - Spielberg track, but made up ground in the second half of the race to finish in 12th position. Rossi started from 14th on the grid and was wary of the first lap, when the busy mid-pack of the rider field would be diving into the tight first corner, but he managed the situation well. He finished his first lap in 11th place, trying to be both on the attack and the defensive. At…

Hey, the ypvs is not working properly on my dtr.. When i start the ignition the pulley moves the valve as normal. Then i start the bike and the ypvs seems fine. The pulley is moving but suddenly it just stops?? It can stop at any time, after the first rev or after a short trip. I have tried to look after people having the same problem but it seems like people ypvs do not move at all or it works. I have removed the power valve, cleaned it so tjat it moves freely, i have adjusted the pulley cables (many times!) and i have opened the servo too see if everything is good. I have hear it can be the pv controller or the cdi, but these are expensive parts so is …

Hey everyone I have a question for the people in the know. I'm confused with the tail light arrangement on the early r6, some have a big ugly single tail light and some have the twin round rear lights that look alot better. It seems to me like it's a mixture of years because I've noticed some bikes have the twin rear light and then newer ones have the big ugly thing and visa versa. My question is, is the twin rear an upgrade or is it of a certain year bike and fits on the earlier bike? My budget is a little tight and I'm only finding bikes in my price range with the ugly rear light but I want the twin lights, so can I source the rear fairing and lights…

Hi there, I have a Thundercat which is running hot when stationary (i.e. in traffic). The fan doesn't kick in until well into the red which I understand is common but it has actually boiled over before now. I am going to change the thermo switch for a lower operating spec switch so just canvassing opinion on what would be the optimum temperature for the engine to run at please? Any information greatly appreciated, Cheers, Lee

{{if $formValue}} {$value} {{endif}} The GMT94 Yamaha Official EWC Team and YART Yamaha Official EWC Team endured a drama filled 8 Hours of Oschersleben yesterday in the penultimate round of the 2017/18 Endurance World Championship. GMT94 held on to take a valuable third place on the podium, whilst YART were not so lucky, recording a DNF. Oschersleben pole-sitters David Checa, Mike Di Meglio and Niccolò Canepa of GMT94 were quick off the start and showing immediate race winning pace until the first challenge of the race struck. In a repeat of last year, they were imposed a stop-and-go penalty for failing to turn their lights off during their pit-stop, ultimate…
