Hello Guys It's been a while since I've been on here and I hope you are all well. I'm hoping you can help me on this one because I'm stumped. Bled my rear brake and put new pads in on my MT09, made sure there is no air in the system and pads are seated correctly. As soon as I bolt calliper back on to mount I loose pressure (rear brake doesn't work) but when I unbolt calliper and just rest it on the disc it works perfectly. I've checked for leaks but can't see anything and the piston and piston seal are fine. Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi guys. Need some second opinions just to help me on my way. I've noticed the bike started to heat up. It never reached the red bit was getting up there. So after topping up the coolant.. Bleeding the systems etc I've noticed the coolant was leaking somewhere. But no puddles or water marks anywhere. So I checked the oil and yes there is some coolant in there. Not loads but still milky. So I've ordered new seal and gaskets etc. My question is. If I continue to run my bike with just topping up the coolant every so often to stop it overheating. Can I damage more parts internally? Just for a week until my part arrives. Also the bike was starting fine before toda…

Hi guys! Having a bit of a "problem" when trying to put my bike into first gear from idle during a cold start. The engine starts usually pretty well (occasionally cuts out during idle on a cold day), but when I get onto the bike and try and put it into first gear....the engine cuts out. I have to repeat this process maybe 1 or 2 more times before it eventually works and I can ride off. I know the Yamaha SR125 has a side stand cut off trigger (caught me out before!) so I could investigate that switch. However because it eventually goes into first gear after a while when the engine is warmer makes me believe its a clutch problem. Thanks guys!

Question to any of our Australian friends... Are there any associations for advanced motorcycling? In the UK there's the BMF, Rospa, IAM but I can't seem to find anything similar out here, surely there's something?

Just thought i'd pop this up. Guy at work has just picked up a mint, never seen rain 15000 mile 2003 gsxr 750. It is in truly stunning condition. Good value buy, not overpriced. around 2k I think he paid for it. Power commander, pipe, usual trinkets. Arm fulls of receipts, notes on when services are due and done. Receipts back years. Recommendations on the high quality oil he used etc. The polish even. Guy had to sell for financial reasons, washed it more than rode it by the sounds of it. The kicker, I have mentioned john before as the guy rides year round whatever the weather on the 400, that's a 65000 mile gsxr 400 and uses mother natures heavy rain in ap…

Hi, I have an 07 MT03 (the proper 660 single) and yes there are a few still on the road! 2 weekends ago I was out for a ride and saw according to my speedo I was doing 188 mph and 0 revs. So I stopped, and restarted the bike hoping the problem was not terminal...... it was - the whole display was dead. No neutral, indicator, main beam, nuffing (Later on closer inspection a chip on the printed circuit had blown) So as Mr Yamaha wanted £440 for a new one , after a lot of searching I managed to get one from a breakers . It works fine except that when I start the engine the display and rev dial goes blank for a few seconds. At first I thought it could be that the …

Well, it wouldn't be a new month without something new coming into the unit. Continuing the trend, it's an XS500... Built to do 70's class races in France, owner did two races, had a motorcycle accident (not on the track) and couldn't ride the bike any more. There are no lights, but unlike the flat-tracker it has its brakes, good tyres and has passed race scrutineering before, appears to be well built and very clean, had it running today and it certainly gets a move on, charging system appears to be intact, needs a silencer to be anywhere near road legal though, figured it could be an early birthday present to myself. Oh a…

Hi, we have a Yamaha Aerox YQ50 2012 (UK). The handlebars hit the knees at full lock. We are wondering if the frame is bent or something like that or if the bike is made for small people. Can anybody who's got access to one please make some measurements from bits that aren't too flimsy etc? Maybe from the ends of the handlebars (both equal with steering 100% straight ahead!) back to a fixed point somewhere near the fuel filler. Then the overall width to the tips of the handlebars in case ours are different. Also the handlebar tips down to the footplate securing screws. If someones got the cladding off then measurements to inside of curved frame behind fuel filler. Mu…

I Hi I'm new to the group. A friend recommends I tried the forums for some help. I have a couple of bikes I'm trying to repair. I need a donor engine for an 05 xt125, so either a Xt or ybr engine. I already have two 05 (I think) engines but they both have slight differences, different connections and amounts of wires coming off the stator plates. So I'm hoping someone out there has a manual or a link for a wiring diagram to help me either source the right engine for a straight swap or perhaps I can get away with swapping the connectors over. Thanks in advance.

Hey peeps. Picked up another addition to the fleet a couple of weeks ago, a little QT50 I found on the auto jumble at the Dorset Steam Fair, in my drunken logic I decided it needed to come home. Needed a new set of tyres and the brakes fettling (even after cleaning and roughing up the drums, the rear brake would only put out 27%, the MOT requirement was 25%), nevertheless it did eventually pass. So it now has a fresh 12 month ticket, I use it for riding around on the airbase when I'm at work, the top box is large enough for small aircraft spares or a crate of beer and it has "No Fat Chicks" written on the back in permanent marker So far nobody has …

My neighbor has an XS750, the tacho stopped working two days ago and he asked me to have a look, when I got there this morning I took the cable off and found out it was totally seized (Like not from rust, from fraying and tangling itself up it seems), put on the cable he bought as a replacement and it still didn't work, on closer inspection we found the drive gear wasn't turning. I took the valve cover off and to our horror we found out that the drive gear has totally eaten itself, the bevel drive on the camshaft is basically gone. Now the real problem. All the shavings seems to have been swept into the depths of the engine. Do you think it's game over? I'm guessing…

Hows it going guys? Im new to yamaha club and i would appreciate any help i can get from you guys. I have a 1980 yamaha sr250 and the bike is driving me insane. The bike originaly belonged to my grandfather and he abandoned it. Once he abandoned it, my father took the bike off his hands. This was probably in the early 90's. I was just born haha. My father rode the bike here and there untill he ran into a problem with it. He would start the bike, and the bike would idle perfectly. But as soon as he touched the throttle, the bike would die. No biggie. My father told me he spent a year on an off trying to fix the bike until he finally gave up on it. Here i am now, 23 years o…

Hello! I just bought a 1997 Yamaha XJ600S Diversion. I bought it used obviously. When i went to look at it before i bought it everything worked. He said it had been standing for a while, like a couple of months i think. It was a bit tricky to turn the ignition but i figured it out and it worked. We probably turned it on and off 3-4 times and it worked. When i got home and tried to turn the ignition it was as said a bit tricky but it worked, it started and the lights worked no problem and i could drive it. Then it all went south when I removed the front fearing. I removed the front fearing(front lights, front signals, gauges, some cable from the gauge thing to the fro…
