  5. carry a spare wheel on your back whenever you go anywhere, problem solved. preferably the rear as that tends to go more often.

  6. Tommy next time instead of waisting a pack of zip ties use tie down straps, changing a tire the first time is hard for anyone but everyone should learn and own some tire irons. A trick to doing tubed tires is to start 180 from the valve and finnish at the valve, this way you can push the tube into the tire and not pinch it, never push the tire irons all the way down to the rim center so you dont pinch the tube. The first few times anyone I have ever tought how to do it struggled but after a few times it get easier.I have a tire machine at my disposal but it dosent do me any good when I am 200 miles from home.

  8. This should be in the workshop section. No oily bits bits or overalls are allowed in the bar. It won't come off the seats.

  9. Sounds like the needle jet, float height or floats in the carb. If the jet is worn then it lets fuel bypass it, it the float height is wrong then it shuts the fuel off too late, if the float has a hole in it - the same as the float height issue really. The heat won't help but the carb needs to be set up right, not just cleaned. Welcome to the forum.

  10. Hi Tim, does your bike have rear brake shoes rather than pads? If so then you can improve the braking by shamfering off the leading edge of the shoe with a file, you could replace the front forks with ones off of a newer bike that has twin discs, not that expensive and will really make an improvement to the handling. Or you could drive SLOWER !!!! I suppose but where is the fun in that?

  11. As above mate, stuck needle - float to low or float bowl seal is in need of replacing. PS the intro should be in the NEW MEMBERS section (hint)

  18. Lemon juice and water boil in a saucepan for carbs. White vinegar for fuel tanks. When you ride it does give you a craving for a doner kebab and chips - but that isn't a bad thing!
