Hi All New here, managed to miss this section at first attempt and upset someone by directly asking a question. Slapped wrist. Anyway, had Yamaha bikes since early 80's and still got some of them amongst others. Now my kids have joined in too.... Mike

Hello everyone, just introducing myself, I am Vince and I live in Cornwall. I recently got given back my original 1981 Yamaha DT175 MX from my brother. I am currently looking for some parts to upgrade it and struggling to find UK sellers, so hoping in the right area to get some pointers from the community!

Hi guys, My name is Al and I'm a born again biker. I rode a Suzuki GSX250 as a commuter on a learner licence until just before my son was born and I stopped riding to watch him grow up. 16 years later and I had an itch that needed to be scratched so I bit the bullet and took a few lessons and now am fully road legal. On Monday I took possession of a 1990 XJ600 (Pre Diversion model), but it's rained since and more storms are forecast for the next week so I've only had 50 or so miles under my belt since picking it up!! I'm looking forward to getting a few miles under my belt and improving my skills and also to reading a few of the forum topics. Cheers Al

Hello, out there! I'm new to biking, having done my CBT a month ago and since then bought a 2002 SR125, which I love. It's really encouraging to have come across such a friendly and encouraging site for Yamaha owners. I know nothing - nothing! - about the mechanics of the machinery, but have my Haynes manual and hope to learn in time. I think for the first times though when anything goes wrong it'll be a case of taking Mildred to a real mechanic and looking on and learning. (Might be soon - she keeps cutting out in first gear. The last thing a novice rider needs at busy junctions...) Anyway, very pleased to make your acquaintance!

Hi guys, Just a quick note to say hi, I'm new to this biking malarkey, passed my test five years ago and never bought a bike until May this year when I went for an SV650S. Great bike, however not for me, I loved the torque, the power, the noise, the looks but the riding position and the constant vibration through my wrists giving me pins and needles meant it was more of a chore to ride the thing. So I started looking for something a bit more upright, I looked at Bandits, Fazers and the like but kept coming back to the Diversion. Luckily I found a mint 60 plate Diversion S at my local dealership for just shy of £3k, 8000 miles, black, standard bike, really well loo…

Hi all new Yamaha owner here had my brand new (well to me anyway) 1985 XS 250 last week so thought I would join the club. I am saying Hi here but expect I will spend most my time on the site in the classic Yamaha section, why an almost 30 year old 250? Well my GPZ 500 was about past its sell by date needed a lot for the MOT this time so needed a change. Been looking at reviews and whatever and getting a little fed of the need for more power better ABS more electronics etc. Seams you can’t go more than a few miles without a massive array of luggage or 1300 cc of power or you can’t have fun on anything that doesn’t have your bum in the air and low bars and my back …

hi all i've recently set about the challenge of restoring a yb 100 to somewhere near it's former glory (i'd settle for running) but it's fair to say the bike is in a fairly poor state of repair and i would appreciate some advice along the lines of whether or not this is a non-starter or basically where to begin. have purchased the haynes manual and from a brief look on line i can see all the bits are available one way or another. some photos below and I should mention i also am missing the keys (!) but hey-ho... any feedback / guidance on where to begin would be much appreciated. Nick
