Hi all. Found this site while looking for help with a slight oil leak with my 650 Dragstar Custom. Sort of found an answer, but before going on with that, thought I'd just put a few words of intro. I've had this bike for approx 5-6 years, moving on to it from my 125 after having my first bike + passing my test at age 50. (Yes, sorry an old woman joining the forum!). Anyway, have always done the annual service on the bike myself (with help from husband or son to loosen + tighten the oil sump bolt + bolts on the oil filter covers). Never had a drop of oil from the bike in that time. Last service done April this year. Horrified to find slight oil leak this week coming from un…

I couldn't find the specific forum to help with engine problems. So here I go.. Sunday the 4th Me and some of my friends took a bike ride to Hartside cafe, but unfortunately my bike broke down on the way there and finally gave up the ghost at the actual cafe. Whilst I was going around a bend pass Alston my check engine light popped on and my power cut. I had to ignite my bike again to get the revs up. It said I was doing 50MPH all the way there with 6000 revs. Whilst turning into Hartside cafe my bike cut out completely and didn't want to start again, so I had to call my father and his friend to recover it. It's not a problem with the battery or sparkplug nor the …

Hi all from sunny Cardiff. New to the forum as I have just bought my first Virago 125. Trying to relive my youth when I had a Yamaha RD 250 when they first came out, as well as other bikes over the years. Not been a rider now for 20 years but got the bug again, must be mad so I decided to buy a, do upper, ( see my other post) You will prob, be hearing from me quite a bit, asking silly questions as and when I get started with the repairs of the XV125 I have bought, so please be patient with me Cheers Carl

Hi All I have just bought my first Virago XV 125cc. Don't know the age of it as it is on French plates, the chap I bought it from bought it in France when he lived there, he bought it in Dec, 2000 and brought it to the UK in 2001, when it arrived here in the UK it started to have a miss fire problem, only running on 1 cylinder and the garage he took it to could not find the prob, they changed the carb, ( the old card is in bits in a bag) looks like the have put new carb, rubber flanges on, new plugs etc, but with no success, so they gave up as it was starting to cost too much money, so it has sat in his garage since then. So it's not reg, in the UK and has never …

Greetings -- new to the forum and relatively a new rider. Have a question, I recently bought a 2008 Roadstar and am in need of new tires -- any recommendations on whats "the best" tires to get for this bike? Being that the Roadstar is a big bike cruiser I am looking for best tires that have great performance and also offer a more comfortable ride not just around town but also for long road trips. Thanks ahead of time for your guidance.... Mike
