Gidday all! Just been doin a little net surfing and came accross this forum. Haven't spotted it before. The name is Ken and I live in the Hunter Valley of NSW, Aust. I have been riding on and off for some years and recently aquired a V-Star 650. I have no need for a bigger bike as most of my previous bikes were all around 250's and I don't get the opportunity to take long rides.

hi all, ... new here, but not new with bikes.. I'm based in switzerland and I assume with 50years I'm a kind of oldie... I have had several bikes in my history: suzuki gt 185, gt 250, honda bf 500f, cb 400f, laverda 750sf, morini 3 1/2 .. all of them sold, because it was my intention to end my carreer as bike... but .... then 2 old offroad bikes crossed my way and I bought them. a 1978 kawa 125 and a yam dt 125 mx.. it's a very emotional thing because these are the bike did like to have in my youth, but could not afford it... now I use them for quick rides up the hills.. and I love to repair and maintain them as well... I was (postively) surprised that …

Just introducing myself here, I used to ride on an XT125 and have no upgraded to a WR400F although I don't know how much of an upgrade it has been so far as I've spent most of the time fixing all that's wrong with it. Speaking of which, this leads me on to the fist topic I have started. An issue with getting tension in the clutch cable - Read more here; I look forward to meeting and speaking to you all soon

Hey guys, I have been riding Yamaha's all my life, street legal bikes now for 2 seasons. I have logged some 14,000 miles in that time ( only 4,000 this season ) I ride a 1985 Virago XV-700, its a V-Twin, shaft drive cruiser style bike. I have done some work to her in the past 2 years since i got her. It was really rough at first, i have had it painted, new drag pipes installed, new mirrors and data clusters, new tires, the seat recovered, and a few new electronic components. I prefer my yamaha over any hurley davidson any day. She's got enough power to handle any riding situation, but doesnt go through a gallon of oil every other week. Nor does it vibrate to …

Hello all, new to the forum and thought this was a great place to start. Currently I do not own a Yamaha but am in the market for a project bike or possibly a project that could become my sport touring ride. I've owned RD's, RZ's, FZR's and R6's. Currently I own a Kawasaki 636 that is strictly a track day bike. I'm a product of the 80's and have fond memories of the Yamaha bikes from that era. I would love to restore an RZ 350 or FZ600, however they just might not be the best bikes for my goal of doing some sport touring. The RZ/FZ project might be better saved for the future. So, what I've been looking into is possibly an FZR 1000, FZ750, or YZF 750. All seem to be …

I just bought my first Yamaha "big girl" bike today, 2009 Vstar 650. My husband and I started riding again about 1 1/2 years ago after several years not riding (both of us). I first had a Kawasaki Vulcan 500, but wanted a heavier and bigger bike (a little bigger). Rode today after we got home and absolutely love it. It's a completely different bike from my other one. I know we will have tons of fun.

Well, where to start? Passed bike test in 79 on a CB200. Got married in 80, flogged bike to buy stuff for new house. 33 years later my uncle said I could buy his CX650ED. WHOA!! I ain't sat on a bike for 33yrs, that Honda is one heavy bike, I'll get summat a bit smaller to practice on 1st. Onto ebay, looking for something a bit different/old/classic(?). Bike or scooter, not bothered, then I saw her "What on earth is that? a Yamaha Beluga? Never heard of it, must be a USSR import" Then, like you do when your on ebay & had a coupe of beers, I placed a bid. 3 days later I checked my bid list & I'd won it!! So fellow 'Beluga' owners i'll be needing your expertise…

I got my very first bike back in 1975 as a spotty long-haired 17 year old, when I moved to London. It was a Yamaha U5E, a sort of 50cc step-through scooter and it was my first introduction to the world of biking. That was followed by a YB100, and then a YDS7 250. Then a crash ended it all for me, when a car driver turned right across me without indicating. Crunched my left hand up and wrecked the 250. As an apprentice engineer at Heathrow, on £7 a week there was no way I could repair or replace it so it stood rusting in my dad's back garden till he gave it away to someone who wanted to resurrect it. And that was the end of my biking. Didn't even get round to taking the te…

I bought a YBR 125 '08 a year ago and started biking merely as a means of getting around but came to really enjoy being on a motorbike. Figured it's about time I sign up here. Plus I do have a problem and I'm looking for some help as well. Thing is my bike is not starting. I put the key in and all the lights come on as normal however I don't hear the fuel pump priming. I have heard how leaving it in the sun can cause problems, however it's not that. I've put it in the shade, chucks many buckets of water on it, left to overnight, charged the battery and still the fuel pump won't prime. I should also mention that for the last 4 and half months the bike has not once …

Hi guys and Girls I have not been on in a while as like most people I have to work... But yesterday I found an old but mint YZF750 11k on the clock and abundance of service history....Bought it and wow....... I spent 6 years on one of these bad girls in the 90s and wish I had never part ex it for an R1. After the first few corners memories came back of what a great bike it is...Shame it was over shadowed by the boring blade. Some new Bridgestones and straight though an MOT 265 glorious miles done today and really starting to get to grips with this fantastic machine again..... Anyhow just buzzing heres the girl I bought.... http://www.motor…
