I think I put this in the wrong place first so sorry for the duplication. I bought a YBR250 for my wife after she found the Kawasaki ER6 a bit fast for her and the YBR125 a bit under powered. She loves the bike but feels a bit insecure with only a side stand. The bike has the fitting for a centre stand. I tried Yamaha UK but they were no help. Yamaha Brazil and Colombia either supply the bike with the stand or offer it as an accessory. They call it a Cavalete Central. See their website and see what I mean. Is there any way to get hold of this stand in the UK. It looks so simple I even think it could be knocked up with a bit of steel tubing and a welding torch. Any hel…

Hello, My name is Tom. I just signed up and dropped in to say Hi before I start browsing around. Looks like a good site. Looking forward to getting aquainted. Got my first Yamaha, a YM-1 50 cc at the age of 13, upgraded to a YL2-C 100 a year or two later, and still ride it occasionally. Currently attempting to clean up and tune my 1974 TX500A after it sat neglected a few too many years. I also own a Honda 700 Nighthawk, (85) which I converted to touring configuration, with fairing, which I rode to Alaska a few years ago, and recently aquired a BMW R-100 airhead for my wife and I to wander around on. Thanks in advance for your hospitality, Tom

Hello all! I'm really happy to find others that like the XS750's. I just got mine about three weeks ago and I'm very pleased about how good shape it's in for being 33 years old! I was originally looking for a bike I could turn into a bobber, but after seeing it and considering it came with the original hard-shell bags, It will remain stock. It has a couple of issues thiough...brakes are one (but I can fix that) and the other is how hard it is to pull in the clutch lever. With the way it is now, I think after a days ride I'll be able to squeeze water from a rock (LOL)! It this inherent on this bike or is there an adjustment I need to make? I will appreciate any ideas on my…

Hi there folks, Just a quick intro and hello - I'm 6,2", 28, married and live in south london. Just Passed my MOD2, my second attempt (Friday 25/11). Have to say after 3 attempts at the MOD1 and failing my first MOD2 within 2mins of leaving the test centre (dont ask, a simply mistake and my only one!) that I'm still finding it hard to get used to the idea of having a full license. I've been driving a car for about 4 years now have looking forward to this moment since I did my CBT back in Februaury and now my final hurdle is actually finding myself a bike. I work in the city and plan to commute about 6miles (each way), sick and tired of public transport, the time…

Hi, I just joined today, perhaps I should feel a fraud for I'm mainly on here in pursuit of troubleshooting advice and my choice for Yamaha was purely based on economics and not brand loyalty to a brand I know nothing about. Aha essentially its my first bike and hell I guess I should probably start reading up more on bikes so maybe I will stick around. I'm more of a romance junkie than an adrenaline junkie and consequentially in my head a motorbike can only be termed as the manifestation of my liberty which my mind seems to crave more so than adrenaline and much else and so I couldn't resist buying a bike much to the horror of my mother. So yea those are largely the term…

  11. Started by JasonC81,

Greetings, I am new to Y.O.C. and I have recently acquired 2 1981 LB50PH Chappys. Both are still in good condition one runs ok the other has some big problems. I am looking to get these things running up to par myself to save some money. I know these bikes are slow to begin with but right now I have one bike running at about 22 mph tops. The other bike I can hardly get it up to 15. Anyone have any tips or things I should be doing to get them to run smoother and faster? From the research I've already done these bikes should hit 30 mph no problem. Like I said this is all new to me so any tips, pointers, or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi! Thought is introduce myself, Ive just today shook hands on a purchase of a Yamaha ms50e from 1985! This will be the 2nd bike I've owned, the first being a Peugeot speed fight (yuk) which I hated! I also drive a citroen 2cv, and I bought the bike as a run around, and to enjoy! Even if it may only be a 50cc!

Just thought I'd be polite and say hiya to you all. I've had my yammy XJ900F for the best part of 15 years, love her to bits. She needs a bit of work, tlc but runs fine. I know I have the Honda too but in all fairness I don't really like the TransAlp much, bit of a mistake to buy and most times when I have the change to go for a spin, yammy comes with me. Looking forward to meeting any here who also own a XJ9 as there seem to be very few on the road. Actually, only seen one... last week lol, at Ace Cafe in London which was fantastic. Anyway, if you want to know more, just ask. Niq.

Hello all, J-Rod here from Canada. I have had 2 bikes in my life and thought i would get another as the itch was starting to turn into a rash. I always liked the looks ot the FJ's so i just purchased a 1989 FJ600. It's not running yet as it needs a new battery. The fellow i bought it off of said it will need a carb cleaning so i have that to look forward to. Never did one before but i think i have the partience for it. Well just wanted to say hello. Cheers, J-Rod.
