Hi, just saying hello to all the members here and introducing myself. I'm James, had a YBR 125 ED since March but had a crash recently when my back wheel slipped out on diesel and I ploughed into the curb. Just trying to get it all back to together but can't find a mudguard for it anywhere! Plan to do my bike test next year, can't wait. If anyone has any advice on the front mudguard that would be great, thanks.

  3. Hi to all members, I recently passed my das in August and got myself an xj600 s diversion 94 plate as my first bike, it's not running at mo but it's a good project with only 14000 miles on clock, on the right hand side of bike on the end of the crankshaft is a round black cap/seal in the centre of the crankshaft housing. My one is leaking oil and is not sealed, I've tried findin a spare on the net but no sign of anything like it, so I would like some info on whether I can get a new one or the best way to seal it back in. Many thanks

  4. Hey buds! Greetings for all from Spain! I own a Fazer Fz6 S2 since 2007, and I so pleased with it! I ridded bikes all my life, and she is the biggest one that I own. She is sweet, obedient, and beautiful! By the way, I want to introduce my self as a programmer, a byte eater, and road nomad. And so, this is the equation Yamaha rider + Apple programmer = http://www.logex.es/motosporttt LOL

  8. Hi, I'm from Ottawa, Canada, where the temperature is at 0C/32F right now. ( Dec 8th.) I'm in my garage restoring a newly acquired 1976 XS500 to a pretty nice daily rider condition. I had a lot of bikes in my misspent youth. Started with a Honda Z50 (apparently a collectors item now! That's the funniest thing I ever heard.) then several Yamaha 2 stroke twins, then Suzuki fours: a GS550, 750 and 1100e. Somewhere in there, I commuted for a couple of summers on a Honda CB350, and briefly a CB400F. My last bike was a 1978 Ducati Darmah. No bikes for about 20 years and now a Yamaha XS500.. Why the XS500? Well I longed for a 70's bike, but many of them are now too …

  9. Well, first off - HI ! Right. Now that that's done, a bit about me: I'm a 19 year old student from Estonia (this forum had no flag for it so I took England for I got relatives in Cambridge whom I try to visit every so often - so a bit of blood of the brits in me). I got a 1989 XJ 600 (pre-diversion, that is) that I got for free from my pa's lifelong lad who bought himself a new one and was all like "I've had it sitting for years anywho, so you can have it if you want it" ... silly man asking even more silly questions. As an almost sane youngling, why would I turn down a free bike? Its been laid down a couple of times so the right side had some scratches, a bent lever,…

  11. Hi there people, Just a hello really. Wanted to get back on a bike again after having had one whilst i traveled round New Zealand a few years back. I've now picked myself up a 1993 Yamaha T80 Townmate. I got it for £250 with 5000 genuine miles and all the original MOT's. It had been off the road for 8 years when I purchased it but after pumping up the tyres and giving it a good look over it flew through it's first MOT since 2003 Using it everyday now as it saves me a fortune in fuel. 130mpg is certainly helping the pocket. I've already done 800 miles in my first month of ownership. The money I save is all going towards getting my full license hopefully i…

  12. Started by Si_Co,

Wotcha everyone. My name is Si and I'm new to the club. I decided to do my CBT at the begining of November having never ridden a motorbike before, to satisfy my mid-life crisis. That is not as bad as it sounds. Kids have grown up and are going to Uni, leaving me, a single middle-aged bloke, with loads of time on my hands (I do shift work) and working through a bucket list. I was talked into buying the YBR125 by the bloke in the shop where I bought my helmet and gear from. I've only done about 300 of the 600 running in miles and have to keep the rev's low, but thats just as well, as I am using the bike to commute the 8 miles to work and back plus the odd weekend fun run…

  13. Started by EL Terrible,

Well im not sure what to put here really, so i will start with the basics. Ive recently passed my DAS after failing the old type test back in 2005. Ive bought a Fazer 600, which seems to be a reliable bike although i dont get to ride it much at the moment unfortunately. Ive been to London on it last weekend, and it went like a dream! I currently live in Bristol, so it was a fair old run. Im looking for a Bike club around here, so if anyone knows of any good ones then give me a shout. Im hopeing by joining a club, i can get to use the bike more. Anyway thats about it, not very exciting i know, compared to other newbies entries. Cecil (yes this is my name!!!)

  15. Started by GuzziPaul,

Just joined as I have been browsing off and on over the years but have decided to do up my DT175MX (again) so thought I might get some useful tips on here. I have had a few Yams over the years starting with a RD250E in 1979 then an RD400 I currently have a DT175MX , which used to belong to my best friend which I got in about 1990 and an RD250LC which I bought at a similar time. I also have an Aprilia Tuono which I was off for a ride on to day but as its cold now I won't bother, instead I intend goinging into the garage and take the wheels off the DT as I intend to re-spoke both wheels. So first question and recommendations where to get new spokes from and meas…

  19. Started by JChappers,

Hello there. My nickname is Chappers. I'm 35, 6ft 2" married and I have been riding now for about 4 years. Started off on a Speedflight then took my geared CBT. After passing I traded in to get my first proper bike. A brand spanking new Yamaha YZF-125R in midnight black. *sigh* I loved this bike looked like a stealth fighter! I rode it for 2 years and what a joy it was to ride. Then 3 months ago I got bad news from the doc. I've got sciatica anyway and he went on to explain that the riding position was adding to my pain and problems. Mornfully I explained this to my wife, so we started looking for a replacement that had a better posture for me to ride on. Thanks to a …

Hi all, just a few lines to introduce myself. Retired, several times, once from the USAF. Oldest son is a M/C mechanic, KTM mostly, the other two are M/C people but just for fun. I've been out of riding for about 5 years, bad knee, but I had it replaced so we'll see if I can still do the deed on the new one. Oh, I'm in N.central AZ Ray
