Evening all! I'm George from Uxbridge in London, recently bought a YBR-125 with the intention of learning on this and moving onto bigger and better things early next year. Perfect time of year to start riding... I'm sure you've never seen a stock one before so here is a photo of the beast (apologies for the shocking quality): Plan is to keep it stock, moving onto something a bit bigger (considering an SV650/R6 - with more experience obviously!) before my CBT runs out next spring. I ride (push) bikes a bit, into mountain biking (XC) and a bit on the road, plus recently attempted a CX race, so anyone who wants to meet up for a ride gimme a sh…

Hey folks! Just dropping in to say hi and tell you all my story. 26 year old, no prizes for guessing my name and from the Scottish Borders Had an Aprilia RS125 to learn on (most unreliable vehicle i have ever owner) Passed my test when I was 22 and had a VFR400 for a month but quickly outgrew that and treated myself to a new FZ6 Fazer. Had it for 3 and a half years and had it all around the UK and a tour of Europe 2 up fully loaded loved that bike. But always wanted an R1 so this summer I got myself a 5PW, and what a machine it is, never fail to impress. Anyways, ive owner yamahas for the vast majority of my riding career so this seems like a su…

Hi Every one Just got a XVS650 51 plate and a lot of rust and corrosion. First proper bike in 30 years. Been reading some of the discourse with interest. Screen or no screen, drilling out pipes to sound differant? Why buy something to just to change it to make it sound and look like something it's not. Ride it Enjoy it and have fun cleaning it after. Good luck to you all.

Hey all, just a quick hello. Joined the forum as a reference guide and to maybe pick someone's brains from time to time as I have no idea what to do when it comes to spanners/wrenches and spark plugs!!! I'm far from a grease monkey but i do like to have a go at anything I can. I bought my beloved Yamaha Aerox 50 scooter back in 2006 new out of the showroom in Alicante in Spain where I was living at the time. Then after a year I headed back to my homeland, sunny England, where i found that the weather wasn't too favourable for 2 wheels so opted to store it in the garage for the next 5 years, then work opportunities found me moving to the Bahamas where I currently resid…

Hi everyone. My name is Noel, most people call me Noely (Since my username is almost always NoelyDeezNutz) I just started riding 2 months ago, purchased a brand new 09 Honda Rebel and have been putting miles on it like crazy (Almost 1,500) I am pretty mechanically inclined. I recently picked up a 1979 xs750 Special. The previous owner did a lot of his own work, and not a very good job with it. So I came here to seek the advice of people who know the bike better than I do. This is going to be my winter project, so I am trying to do ALL of the work myself. Use it as a learning experience as well as something that, when finished, I can be proud to say "I did ever…

hi, i'm typing with one hand as my right is in a sling due to a shoulder op so thats why there are not many capitals. i live in burgess hill west sussex and have owned my r6 for 6 years, as i am now old and victor meldrew like and have worn out wrists,no not doing that, i tried higher bars but they looked crap, this is how it looks now, since i can't ride for a few months i am changing the front lights to a stacked pair, between the forks, pics will follow. this is still an R6 goes like a R6, handles like a R6, more manuvarable in traffic, and a lot more comfortable. have fun keep it upright, graham

Hi there! I finally made the plunge into getting into biking. It's something I've looked at since leaving home 10 yrs ago, but have only made it financially viable (and I thought up a good enough excuse). I am the VERY proud owner of a brand new YBR 125 Custom and within 48hrs introduced it (and myself) to the joyes of riding at 0600 on damp roads and 2300 in rain. LOVED IT!! Haven't quite built up the cahones skirt in and out of traffic, but there's plenty of time for that. Now I just need to make sure I don't pick up too many bad habits before I make the final descision to take my "big bike" test, it was inevitable.... Matt @;o)

Oh wise ones ov the West, i wonder if anyone could tell me the thickness ov new clutch plates for a TY 175 (Twinshock). im helping a friend who has jus bought it, to get it on the Road/Fleld again and the clutch "felt" (as its not running yet) very "loose" so took the plates out and they look pretty thin (3.3mm) and smell very burnt. Would new plates help or is it maybe the springs? or even the Clutch pushrod bearing (if this model has such a thing, (my old 250 did.)) Thanx all Seana XXX
