hey everyone! im new here. i have a 1977 LB80. just got it running after it sitting in the shed for 9 years! well its almost running... the float valve had sprung a leak and filled up with fuel. so, i actually got the fuel out of it, then buffed up the sides of the little brass float cans, and re-soldered it. and there is no more leaks! i made it cold in the fridge, then submerged it in hot water, no bubbles caused from the expansion of the the air inside the floats. i just need to find out what the float valve height is now. i did some un-necessary tweaking before i realized that it had taken on extra weight. if anyone knows where i can find this information, …

Hello, I'm not exactly a new forum member but I haven't exactly been active so I thought I'd introduce myself. I live in Scotland. I have an XJ900F (Amongst many other bikes.) which I will be using again soon when my son nicks my K1100LT off me when his two years on his 350 are up. I'm a year round biker,(have been for thirty odd years.) & I am a qualified motorcycle mechanic, though tbh I ain't worked on any proper modern bikes, & I don't work in the bike industry. Bikes of the 70s.80s & even 90s are my thing.

Greetings to all, I just joined this forum yesterday. I've had bikes for many years starting out on a FS1E, then an RD200, then an RD400 and finally an RD350LC which I sold to a chap from Leicester. He totally restored it and takes it to bike shows. Look out for it, it's stunning. It's in the standard red/white colours reg no. X118 SUT. These days I'm on my 4th bandit.....I know, boring!! Anyway, I bought my Son a TW125. It has running problems. I have posted a tread in the 'Yamaha Workshop' area entitled 'TW125 Carb / Running problem'. Please do have a read especially if you or a friend has or has had a TW with similar problems? Any info, advice, help or where to get he…

Hello, Just an intro to say hi and a bit of back ground (and to say sorry to have been cheeky and already asked for help with my bike!). New to bikes having done my DAS in September. Had wanted a bike for quite a while but couldn't really justify the cost and was focused on another project but now have to commute round the outskirts of London everyday so seemed a good excuse to finally do it. Been in to mechanical things for a while and have spent the last 5 years rebuilding a 1969 ford mustang, which is still a bit of a beater but a good laugh. Have bought a 1998 650 dragstar with the aim of doing a few bits and pieces to it to make it more personal - going somwhat…

I'm new to the forum, thanks for the home for Yamaha owners, I've enjoyed browsing. I rode when I was a kid, 20 years ago, but recently got back into it. I bought an XVS650 Classic 2007 about a year ago and have put on 6500 km. I'm in the Sydney area. I love the surrounding rides, Bells Line of Road, out to Jenolan Caves, Down South to Picton etc. I'll be off my P plate in Feb 2012 and looking forward to it. I'm looking at swapping for the XVS 950 at that stage, but still looking at all the options. The only thing that worries me about the 950 is how many reports say it scrapes too soon. I've only scraped a few times on the 650 and if the 950 has similar clearance it will…
