Hi i'm Tom, i'm 24 and live in the Yeovil and in the forces, I joined the forum to get some more information and other more experienced riders view on what to do as im very confused. I want a bike and i always have, but as i have always had classic minis i never had to money or time to get a bike but now as the mini are sold i have money to cover the costs of owning a bike but that is where i'm stuck. I was dead set on doing my DAS over my leave but i took a step back and looked at different things like what happens if i spend $500+ and i dont actullary like riding a bike, i think its alot of money to fork out at the moment, so i was looking at just doing my…

I am very excited about my new bike. My friends dad had a 1975 125 enduro sitting in his garage for 30 years. I bought it and am now in the process of putting it back in shape. It only has 1100 miles on it, but have had to do quite a bit of work to get it back on the road. New retro tires, clean the carb, the gas cap would not come off, some rust in the tank, and lots of cleaning. I would like to change the trans oil, but am not sure what the correct oil is. Any advice would be appreciated, Rick

I'm glad to be here! I found this forum out of futility after being 'shunned' by a H.O.G. chapter this past weekend. What happened? My wife and I were touring the Wisconsin countryside on my 2005 V Star 1100 Classic, we stopped for some lunch and I parked amongst the Harley's...did I mention we wear helmets too...scoffs and barely heard comments ensued around us. Aren't we all 'brothers' in spirit on the road? When I ride my 81' 850 Special with the custom paint job (color changing) I've had guys on 883's and old Sporties sit next to me in traffic and say they envy my 'Old-School Triple'. What gives? My V Star looks like a 50's cruiser...well, as the saying goes …

Hi my name is Gary and I'm a 37 year old motorcycling newbie from London thats just progressed from an Piaggio x9 125 'twist and go' to a Dragstar XVS 125 which I love. I'm still on L plates but at least now I feel like I am riding a proper bike and love the positive attention my bike gets. At the moment I am looking at bringing my 2001 Dragstar back to its prime so no doubt I will be posting on here with plenty of questions but hopefully I won't be too annoying.

Hi! Where you all going? I'm Backfire from Montevideo. I bought a brand new Yamaha SR-250 (Exciter?). How I could buy her is a long story, whatever I've no choice to get neither spares nor assistance here. The bike have needed some care because she had been in storage for a long time. I'm glad to find YOC!!. Backfire. P.S.: If I learn to upload images, I'll meet you my SR!

hello from sunny west midlands! Well, i pick up my new (really new) YBR 125 custom this coming saturday after an 8 month lay off, and my previous bikes included a suzuki marauder, a honda lead 100, a jinlun 125 cruiser, a hysong hyper that I used to get from york to worcseter on a number of occasions (the last one almost killed me...) and my very first bike 6 years ago, a piaggio zip 50 that would do 50 with my 17 stone on the bike.... So i'm a little excited, as this is my first ever new bike, despite my 40th coming up. Hoping to learn about maintenance this time to save a little money, and may be asking a few questions around after market bits, but at the moment a…

Hi everybody, I need a little help. I bought a Yamaha Virago 125 cc while I was in Germany. It is a great little bike, in great condition and runs like a top. My problem is this: The operaters manual is in German. I picked up some German while I was there but not enough to read the entire book. Anybody have an idea how I can get one in English? Thanks for your help.

Evening, Picking up my new bike next week - can't wait :-) Yamaha YBR 125. Go to re-take my CBT, as it expired when I was 18 - lol. Now I am 33. Couple of questions if I may? 1. Dealer states bike will do in excess of 100mpg - is this true? 2. Been advised to change the dip and main beam bulbs? 3. Advised to change tyres to Michelin something or other - better grip in wet? 4. Another person said to change the spark plugs to NGK - CR6HSA, this will not only increase perfomance (not interested in that) but mainly MPG by 10 - 15%. Can anyone advise if the above is correct?
