Hello everyone! I am in Idaho (the potato state of America). I am new to the YOC... I actually registered right after I bought my 1972 Yamaha (last December), but have been über-swamped with school (currently working on my thesis for a Master's of Education in Instructional Technology)... long story longer... I am finally posting so I'm not considered a total "lurker". I've been trying to read all of the new member posts, and it sounds like such an interesting bunch. Can't wait to learn from all of the experience you have! This is my first motorcycle. Sorry about the blurry pic. I got her for $1000 from someone who's grandfather had her in the garage for years. She…

Hello!! My name is Erin! I got my motorcycle license last summer and haven't been on a bike since then. Today my fiancé surprised me with my first bike! I now am the proud owner of a 1980 Yamaha XS400 Special II. I am super excited and I feel it's perfect for me to learn and ride on for the summer. Our goal is to eventually turn my bike into a cafe racer.

Hi everyone, I am hoping you can help me find some parts I need for my Virago 125, I need to get a new fuel cap and ignition switch. I am currently restoring the bike as it has been sitting in a friends garden for years. its in pretty good nick but these are the two main parts I need to find as the keys for the bike have been lost along the way... I have been looking on ebay but can only really find parts in hong kong and would like to get them abit closer to home I am not fussed if they are abit moldy looking as I want to rat the bike out anyways... Any help and advice would be greatly received. Thanks

Hi There, I am 63 years old and live in Brisbane Australia. The last time I rode a bike was my Honda Dream back in the late 60's. I recently purchased a 2009 Yamaha XVS650 Classic and I am riding it around the the back streets where I live (unlicenced) but intend to go on the LAMS course to get my RE licence (I let my Motorcycle Licence laps back in the 70's) My wife is very concerned about the dangers on the road these days and I must admit I am a little worried also but I figure if I ride defensively I should be OK. Bikes and accessories have changed enormously since the 70's and the options appear endless. I know I will be visiting this site often as there appears…

Does anyone know if there are different powervalve sizes . I fitted powervalve from barrell and head code MB which would not fit in unless modifying. Have tried 180' but it in open position .have…

Hi folks, posted already on the forum, but my name is Scott. Nice to meet you all. I currently ride an xvs 125 bobber, gradually changing bits here and there. Basically the whole thing is going to be black, eventually, and the plan is to cut off the silencers, then fabricate some new glass pack straight-throughs. Once the bike's done I'm selling it, as I'm aiming to do my test and get a 250-400. There she is in a half finished state. I've since sprayed the engine black, the mudguard is black too, and all the electrics are on and wired up.

  18. Hello to all members! My name is Alex, and I am now on my second yamaha, the first sadly met with an un-timed ending but we shall not speak about that, the second is a beauty from 1986, a yx radian 600cc, I picked it up along with a FZ600 (english counterpart) engine and frame for the grand price of £600, had about 30k miles on the clock at the time. This is my first "bigger" bike so to speak as although I have been driving several bikes for about 3 years, I have only just (4 months ago) passed my full test. A little about me, I love anything with a petrol engine, currently studing engineering at Uni, though am on a placement year at the moment. I was chatting t…
