Well I did it bought my first Yamaha. Although I won't be riding it due to its size my boy has been getting a kick out of it. I got him a 2003 PW-50 which he is a little big for but he has to younger siblings that will enjoy it when he is ready to move up in size. I'm glad to see there is a place I can find all the information I need on fixing it and keeping it up.

Hi , I have just bought my first proper bike (40 years too late), SR125 1995 vintage with less than 7000 miles. Are there any points I should look out for, I bought it knowing it is officially only good for about 55mph, but lots of reviews I have read say you can get 60mph easily and some have claimed 70mph. Is there anything I can do to get 60-65, I will not be racing about but would be good to know I could do it if I wanted to. I dont pick up till Saturday so not Ridden it yet. Thanks

Hi all, I joined some time ago but never posted an intro. (Didn't read the instructions, so didn't realise!) Anyway, I joined because I bought a 1997 XVS650 and thought it might be useful to join a forum such as this. I still haven't taken any pictures of the bike but it is in black and is in standard trim, no mods. It suits me fine the way it is. It only has just over 12,000 miles from new and generally only comes out in the dry.

hi all theres not much to say really i havnt yet started riding on the road but got myself a TZR125 from a friend needs some work so i decided to smooth over the frame, paint it up nice and then get on the road. My main goal for the bike is to make her look different but still have that classic tzr look so i am smoothing over the grooves in the frame, painting it white and gold, and maybe beefing up the bodywork a little. i will try to get some pictures up of the project so far but at the moment im having a bit of a painting session. hopefully i will be out on the roads soon

hi dudes I was trying to post this in the parts forum but it wouldn't let me...hey ho....Ive got mt 03 on a 57 plate but the speedo assembly unit has packed up. I'm getting quotes of £300 inc vat....bit annoying as just dropped £450 on a service. Finding to try and get a cheaper one is proving to be a bit tuff.........any thoughts where I could get a second hand one or if there is another unit that I could use that is cheaper and will still do the job?? any comments appreciated cheers

Hello People. Wee bit about me to begin. My username comes from my job & uniform colour. I work for the Scottish Ambulance Service on what is called The Urgent Tier. We basically take in doctors calls that are urgent but not emergencies( although we do them as well). The colour of my uniform is blue but I work with colleagues who wear green. Going back about 20 years my first bike was a Yamaha. A red RD125DX with chrome mudguards ! Loved that bike. My next bike was also a Yamaha. An XS400. It was the one that had a rectangle spine frame not the tubular frame. Haven't seen another like it since. Think it may have been called an XS400 Sport or something. Ha…

Hey everyone. im excited to have finally found a place to talk about my old yamaha. A month or so ago i bought a 1974 yamaha dt175. the bike was pretty rough but everything was there all original. the people i bought it from picked it up out of a trash heap and decided they just wanted to sell it. so lucky me i only paid 100.00 for it. some two-ish weeks later the bike was finished. new turn signals, new seat cover, cleaned engine and carb, new gas tank (bought an old one from a junk yard that i bondo-ed up and painted to match, new points and condenser (probably the most helpful thing i bought in getting the bike running.), and new tires. This bike is a riot to ride espe…

Please can anyone help tell me where i am going wrong ,after installing a new EBC clutch ,springs ,cable and release bearing to my fazer the clutch is still dragging when the lever is pulled in towards the bars.I have followed the haynes manual to the letter and no matter how tight i set the release mechanism at the crankcase end the problem still persists.I drained the oil and removed the clutch cover and have watched the pressure plate move in and out when the lever is pulled in but it seems to have more travel at the bottom of the plate than the top.The the the rod that travels from the release end through to clutch has been checked and is perfectlly straight the plat…

Being self-employed in London driving a van, I needed a solution to get myself around the city during the games. I bought a chinese import 125 scooter to get me though the olympics 2 months ago; I was relieved when a reluctant Yamaha dealer agreed with some arm twisting to take it off my hands as px on a Oct'11 Yamaha YBR 125. I am now more than satisfied with my new bike and would strongly recommend anyone who is tempted by the low prices of internet scooters fron china to avoid them at all cost. I know £899 sounds to good to be true for a 125 scooter; but like anything, you definately pay for what you get. I did my CBT on a 125 YBR Yamaha and I knew then that I…
