Hello all, Would really like some advice - a month ago bought the Dragstar and (Very proudly) drove it back to mine - just took it out again and nothing obviously wrong on first inspection but it has lost all top end power!? Will not maintain speed in fifth and have to drop to forth on straight roads! Something is wrong... any ideas? Thank you for your help!

hi i drive a yamaha xvs125, does anyone know if the footbrake can be adjusted or extended in any way as it is pretty much impossible to drive with my foot resting near the brake. my only concern here is when i have to emergency stop i find myself using the front brake more than i would like also i find it maxxes out at 60mph in 4th then drops to 55mph in 5th is this normal? dont get me wrong,if i wanted to go faster i would get a faster bike but i just want to make sure my bike is driving the best it should be

hi all, new to this forum so here we go... went to have a new tyre fitted a few weeks ago ready to go to the miles from nowhere rally but when they took ma wheel off it turns out that all ma spokes were loose, could move ma hub 1/8th on an inch all ways and they wudnt let me ride it outa the shop =[ so ended up goin in a van >.< does anyone know if the rear alloy wheel off the xv750 would fit, ive looked and seems to be a match but im unsure help please :'( MM

What are the best modifications i can do to my bike? (Red Yamaha R125 08/09) As i am a new rider, i know nothing, lol. I want to modify my bike, the looks and the sound mainly! But i do not know where to look for these bits or where to buy these thing =( The bike already looks really cool, but it can look much better! (open to suggestions) thank you =)

Hello board! , first post and all that. My yamma obsessed dads been convincing me to get registered on here for ages, but anyway enough of that. Just taken my virago in for its MOT, (4th year of ownership now!) and for the first time its failed, long story short part of the exhaust system has deteroiated beyond repair. More specifically the exhaust compressor is the part that has gone, the rest of the exhaust is fine but unfortunatly its all one complete unit so i need a new set of pipes and the works really. Im not going to claim to be a brilliant mechanic but i know i can get the work done if i can get replacement parts, the engineer at the test center quoted 4…

Hi All, Another newbie to your club. Bought my first bike at 57 years old, and love it, Dragstar 125. Great fun. A few issues with balance at slow speed and finding neutral but I'm getting better. I didn't realise the roads were in such poor condition until I took up two wheels. Clearly, I need to get to grips with some of the terminology (cans/slash cut etc?). Never say die

hi to everyone! my problem is quite weird...or am i the one who is stupid. the problem is when i start my bike when it's still cold(let's say it hasn't been running one day). the bike starts normally. no unwanted sounds when running. the problem is that when i want to shift from neutral to 1st gear it dies(and also does a strange, sudden and strong move forward). then the bike dies. when i start it again..if i'm lucky it goes into 1st gear...if not...i'll have to wait a bit longer so it warms up... is this normal? i mean..i know it's good to warm up before going...but 10 minutes of warming up is a bit long isn't it ? after i manage to shift into 1st and i…

I know its not hard to go count them...but I'm at work and the bike is not.. I am having a set of new stainless spokes made as the originals started to break on my way home the other day. I sent the guys samples and amounts but they have lost the details (not the spokes thank god). I just don't want to loose another day waiting to tell them... Right... I have my Spokes on order, they should be here this week....(wheel collapsed on me at 70 a couple of weeks ago) Over the weekend I built a new exhaust... The original 650 exhaust was starting to fall apart... I had lost the heat shield/chrome cover from the front header and the rear upper can had come separated from the pipe.....looked a mess, sounded good though... So got a set of second had pipes from evilbay... they were for an 1100 so did not fit...until..... The cans were Highway Hawks slash cut pipes and in almost new condition the pipes going forward were stock. With a bit of cutting, grinding and braising I now have stock pipes …

Hey I read on the forum that there was a Highway Hawk exhaust system for the 125 xvs fragstar that would increase the HP by 3 or 4. Has any of you guys tried it and can you confirm that it works? And if you have it how does it sound? Would also like to know where its possbile to buy it. PS: Im from Norway so my English isn't the best

Damn! Booked my dragstar in for saturday - and was supposed to have the week off before hand, but I've had to work all last week and so didn't have time to look over the bike... Only failed on the rear tyre, but that means no bike for 3/4 days!! I'm gonna have to catch the sodding train to work...

Hi all, Just wanted to say hi. I've just picked up my 2004 XVS650 Custom today and just found this forum. I've been browsing around a little and already found some interesting reading material. Seems like most of you are from the UK and have different V-stars over there, the 125's. The smallest one here is the 250. Anyway, I'll post a couple of questions once I start riding my new bike a bit more. Until then, cheers from Sydney.

Where is the best place to get good quality accessories for my bike (xvs650 Custom)?... Looking on the UK websites, prices are stupicly high compared to prices in the states!.. Are there any commercial implications regarding taxation or goods if bought from the States?.. Any1 done this / got around this?... Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Hi, I have a set of Barons Starbar handle bars for sale on ebay. I had them fitted on my XVS 1100 Dragstar, although they fit many other models, and found them extremely comfortable especially for long distance. They are designed to put your arms and shoulders in a better position than the stock bars. They are wider too which looks cool! So it's best thing to start with something interesting wich is modification of Virago 125 According to many people I had chance to talk, all you need is 180cc kit wich includes : cylinders ,pistons, cylinder head, rings etc. Found some parts here: http://www.bike-teile.de/index.php?seite=e...p;teilid=598024 And according to some people who done this mod, all what I need is to remove old cylinders and place new ones, without drilling into engine block.
