Hi all, I'm new here to the forums, and thought I'd ask a cople of questions about my new obsession.. I have a XVS125 Dragstar, which I'm hoping to upgrade when i pass my full test(Soon, soon!!). I'm very much leaning towards a XVS950a(I know its a big jump etc etc, but i'm 36, and my speeding days are very nearly over!!).. Does anyone on here have one, or know of someone with one? Basically, before i get all 'cited and everything, I would like to know what it's like to live with, especially as I'm 6ft3 and the 125 is a leeetle cramped for me.. :-) Any help would be much appreciated! Have any of you guys heard anything about a 1991 750 Virago that was once owned by a member of The Cure. Has a custom paint job in mauve/green and loads of extras in chrome. Any help tracking/confirming this info would be greatly appreciated

I just picked up a 1987 Yamaha Virago 535 10 days ago. I unknowingly left the key in P instead of Off for a day and completely killed the battery. Have been compression starting it mostly since then. I bought a trickle charger and it has started once or twice but mostly needs to be compression started. So, I'm thinking I need a new battery. Best source??? I asked a local bike mechanic and was quoted $120USD. Is that a lot? Is it because he's selling only top quality batteries, or is he just marking it up too much? I'm OK paying more for a better battery that will last longer, but I don't want to pay more just for fun. I would love to get recommendatio…

Hi, I bought a Yamaha Dragstar XVS 125 today. I took it for a test ride and then rode it home. When I got in for work I decided to take it for a ride but every so often, the engine seems to stall and just when I have shifted into 1st. I though it may be something I was doing so I had had a couple of my experienced rider friends have a go... they seem to have the same issue. Once it has stalled, it takes about 5/10 mins before it will even start up again. I am going to get the dealer to have a look at it tomorrow but I’m really confused about what the problem may be. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Was it easily resolved? Any feedback would be great. I just …

evening all, long time no post - with the weather picking up recently I've gotten the toolkit out to carry on fiddling with the bike and even better gotten back out on it!! anyway, has anyone replaced their fenders? or does anyone know of someone who has? I'm wondering what the options are, whether anything other than made-to-measure for the dragstar 1100 classic will fit or if i can go to universal or other parts? direct replacement yamaha parts seem expensive.... I'm after something much much smaller than the normal classic fenders (front and back actually) in fact more like the custom but maybe smaller / cleaner if that makes sense. not sure what kind of jo…

Hi all when i get to about 70 on my virago the power comes and gose in serges almost as like when you press the acclorter on and off in a car when driving. It dose fell like it wants to go faster but caint. How can i tell if its restricted is it in the carb or air in tacke Thanks Andy Hope you can read all of it lol

Gave the bike a nice wash and polish (including the chrome) - I'll reply with what I use (its basically cotton type material with some polishing agent - got it frm Heine Gerricke) Finally, mustered up the courage to drill 3 x Ø6,0 holes in each exhaust.... I'm gonna open 'em up to 6,8 and then tap M8 so I can blank em up with cap heads should the need arise... Well, the weather is improving so I really cant wait to start riding more - oh!.. I broke my land speed record on Saturday - 90mph... (Don't laugh).... -Mits-

Hi guys, I've seen some pics of the Yamaha 'Enticer' 125cc with engine crash bars on the net, it not only protects the engine when newbies like me drop them, but makes the bike look a lot meaner :-) !!! YEAAAH !!! I've been doing a bit more research on the bike, as i recently purchased one second hand. Now this model turns out to have been made mainly for the Indian market and is not readily available in UK. The bike recieved great reviews in its hey day 2002 to 2005, hence why i snapped it up when i saw it. I have tried to find some spares and extras but can't find much info about them without going to India. Now I was wondering if anyone out there knows …

I have a 650 Dragstar with vance and hines cruzer exhausts fitted. There's a small chrome plate that runs just below the downpipes to the 'fatter' part of the exhaust, that was held on with two jubilee clips and some welding. The plate came off whilst riding on the motorway! but does anyone know where i can get one, or something similar? is it a yamaha part or a vance and hines part? Many thanks Daz

help rectifier needed for xvs 125\250. The part number is sh678-11. I've got the egg run on the horizon and the damb thing has died. One of the connector spades has sheered off right down to the base so I cant even get a bit of solder on it to get me through the run. If anyone can help I'd be most obluiged obliged obblijed? any way I'd be made up. Many thanks in anticipation. OGRi Just been hunting around on ebay. There's a SH650D-11 regulator rectifier pattern part there obviously for the 650 version, but does anyone know if it would be ok for the my little 125 draggy. It has the same number of pins and the voltage is the same. Any ideas?

Hey folks its me once again!!!! I have this problem, remeber i was talkin about my neutral light, well its completely dead now and the thing is i cant start the bike in neutral, nor can i start it when the kickstand is down (in neutral) i can only start it in green when the clutch is right the way in...... i have a feeling this is to do with the safety switch that is attatched to the kick stand, any advice as im going to the mechanics after work and i dont want no cock and bull story!! Tt, old git, gas up, old timer, goff i require your assistance !!! to the batmobile!!!! Kind regards Chris

Hello to you all My new bike as of 3 days, XVS 650A Classic - previously had a ybr 125 custom. It is restricted but is quite enough for me at the moment. It is two years old and only had 749 miles on it when I got it. Can't understand why that happens, but good for me A question re filling the fuel tank. The manual says to fill to underside of rim of filler cap. I am assuming that is not the cylinder like bit inside the tank. ta PeterC

Hey folks!!! Finally just got my new front mud guard on!!! from the time the police reversed into me!!!! it looks so good and what a big fender it is!!! Im nearly 100% sure that because i didnt have it on thats what was doing the damage to my plugs ect. also can any1 give me a tip or experience with having trouble with their dash on a drag letting in water??? i see during the rain that my neutral light is staying on (more faded when in gear) and then goes away when the bike has dried out! can you give me tips about avoiding (fixing) this problem i thought of using a clear like filler round the seams but this would effect any other time i wanted to take it off for elec…
