Hi Gents! I would like to change the factory fitted H4 12V 55/60W bulb with a H4 12V 80/100W one in my 2008 Dragstar 650. The original is not too bright. Also looking to get passing lights and a GPS. Will the electrical system will take the extra load? Thank you

I posted this in the Classics forum by mistake... : As a newbie to Motorbikes (apart from the brief ownership of a YB100 in the late '80s) I've never worked on them or know that much about what really makes them go. I just bought a 1991 SR Custom 125 (I said so in my first post a few days back). I paid £265 for it. Bargain! I hear you cry. To get through it's MOT I had to pay out another £290. Soooo... Hey lads, would you know how to remove the heatshields from the pipes on a XVS650A? The pipes are dirty underneath and it is impossible to reach area under the shields. Thank you

I've fitted a set of flat bars to my XV250, but the master cylinder now sits at an angle, any ideas what replacement master cylinder I can fit to work with the current brake caliper and without the mirror thread? Any help is much appreciated, I've been all over the net trying to find some info. Cheers!

Hi, Am totally new to biking having done my CBT in June and have just bought a Yamaha YBR125. Bought it privately, is 10mths old but not sure if it's an import. It has a front fairing if that indicates it is imported. I don't know!!! Stalled it at a roundabout and it wouldn't start!! Wasn't even turning the engine! Fortunately another biker took pity on me and helped me out by bumping it for me. He suggested it might be the battery but when got home and stopped the engine restarted no problem. Can anybody help me out with this? Is it something to do with a cut off and the side stand?? I actually pulled off with the side stand down so I wonder if I've damaged som…

Hi all. Just bought a secondhand 1991 Yamaha SR Custom. Engine is in good nick and after smoe TLC the body will look good too. The only problem with it was the old owner took the rear sprocket off and swapped it round....idiot. Getting a new sprocket set and chain tomorrow, put a new battery and spark plug in today. Can't wait to get it roadworthy and take it for a good run.

My second post is a problem! Well, if I go and start my bike, it starts first time but I can only ride for about 500 metres then it cuts out, it restarts instantly but if I try to rev it dies again. So I shut the engine off and then I wait 5 minutes then I restart and get 500 metres again and it dies. Do you think I have a blockage or something needs cleaning or replacing? I'm mega new to bikes, sorry.

As you may already know, my baby has a dent on her tank - (Left hand side at where the decal is) Can any1 recommend where I can get replacement decals from?... scooted around on ebay - and i noticed you can get the silver dragstar ones from hon kong for abt. £6. - however these will go on after lacquer - the original ones are under the lacqer - any recommendations?... presumably in usng the silver ones, you'd have to bend them (using a hair dryer or something?) to avoid them coming off at the edges?... regards, -Mits-

Hi all iv not been of for a whil kids and so on you know what its like. My garden has been flodded for tha last cupel of weeks so iv letting the bike tick over in the shed to keep the battery good with no probs. but yesterday i strated the bike to have a quick ried on it , When the bike started it did it with a clunk. i stoped it then started as normal then i had a qucik five ten minuet ried and notcied its got a knock on the top end on the front cyilinder. Any thoughts as al allways Many thanks Andy

Ok I know AME do a set for like £1,500 but lets face it thats absurd so does anyone know where or who can do one cheaper. I have some 8 inch overs for CB750 and GS750 Forks (35mm) but there probably too thick so will have to source Virago sized extended fork legs (32mm) - will need the yokes making to fit. An alternative is to put springers on and rake the frame, this WOULD be cheaper but lots more work. There must be a market for this cos of the Lifan engines being manufactured and the general interest in chops AND ofcourse cos new drivers worldwide are being restricted in engine capacity - hense this project cos its for my 18yr old son Any ideas everyone or sugges…

I have heard there 2 restriction rings on the exhaust just before the header pipes. (Can anyone confirm or deny this?) I would like to remove them but I've got a little problem. As you can see the nuts on the studs are rusted into one big mess. Feckin things. All I can think of is cutting them off, drilling out the old studs and putting another bolt on after. Please tell me there is an easier way as its going to be a real pain. Tar.

Hi all, I bought my first bike last week, Dragstar 125 (2000), it has a few bumps which is fine 'cos i'm sure i'll give it a few more but my problem for today is this: a. It has been modified with LED indicators, which look ok, but have been fitted by a person who would be better suited to work with HGVs that small bikes - it looks somewhat messy. I do want to either fit the origanal style indicators or tidy up what's there. However, the rear light mounting has been butchered when fitting them so i need a new one - any idea where I can find one? I have searched everywhere, and google brought me here several times but I cannot find a rear light housing. …

I believe the size of the big virago (750cc plus) forks is only 33mm (others we have are all 35mm) interesting for chopping my 125. COuld someone give me the length from the wheel axle to the top of the yolks (forks) so I can see what difference there is. Guess due to changes in design I will have to buy a complete front end to make sure everythng fits properly - will either rake front headstead or get some slabs done on the cnc machine - Dad !!!! can you do this please

Hya there guys, ok so about 3 weeks ago i got my self a 1997 Xv 125 Virago, absolutely fab bike, not had any really big issues bar one, which i'm not 100% sure what is causing it. When you run the bike and let the throttle fully or even just 3/4 off then try to apply power again, there seems to be a 10-20 second lag in the power pick up and in this time the bike sounds like it's, tryinig to get more petrol but simply can't. Now i have tried running the bike with the choke slightly open and it seems to totally eliminate this problem. Any ideas>? Also on another note, how easy are the Highway Hawk Slash pipes to fit on the virago? Cheers guys

Hey folks, I am wondering how I could drag more sound from the pipes. I have the stock pipes mounted at the moment without any modifications. Bigger sound would be also safer on the roads especially in heavy traffic. If it would be possible I would like to keep the stock pipes because I like their shape Thank you
