Hi there, My battery cover panel is looking a bit worse for wear (looks like the exhaust heat is getting to it - bubbles in paintwork) There appears to be some sponge on the inside of the panel which is making it protrude more than what I would say is usual.... Is this sponge OEM or has it been placed by some ruff bugger in the past?!?!.. Any1 else have this problem?.. regards, -Mits-

My Virago 535 runs good til I twist the throttle and try to speed up! It misses and then smoothes out when I let off the throttle! What is wrong with it?

Hi folks, Anybody know how to get their hands on a pair of whitewalls for the vstar 1300? So far only dunlop seem to make the right size ( black wall ) for the bike but having no luck at all trying to find a set of ww's. Any help is much appreciatred. Cheers

The other half has melted the sole of her shoe to my XVS1300A exhaust does anyone know how to remove it? tried google but it gives all sorts of weird suggestions... Just bought Solvol Autosol (recomended by dealer) but packet says not to use on mirrored chrome (is this safe for the exhaust??) Thought I'd ask before I try, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, My virago 535 does not start. - I can't ride!!! On to the facts. One beautiful day it did not start. The starer cranked the engine a few (1 or 2) times and then stopped. Now it just does half-turns and the neutral light fades. Seems obvious: it's the battery. So I jump-started it with another bike and later with my car. Started perfectly both times. So I've ordered an intelligent charger which I'm waiting for for the last two weeks. Meanwhile I took off the battery to find it completely dry - no (liquid) electrolite in there [t's an yumicron YB12AL-A2]. Measuring the beast with no load yields 13.0V. Question: Is 13V indicative of a good battery? …

Ok here we go about a year a go i put a new battery on a 125 dragstar (because the old one had swelled up to bursting point)just had a look and the new one has done the same anybody else had this problem and sorted it out please let us know

Me again are the bars on the custom dragstar as wide as the one on the classic ?

Hi there, I'm after some decals for my dragstar tank. Pics of my bike are here: the decals basically go under the lacqer.. can any1 help?.. I went to the yamaha garage in Chorley they can order them, however they appear to be the emblem (3d silver one)... any help?!?!.. regards, -Mits-

Hi do you no if the cast wheels of the 1100 dragstar classic fit the 650 classic ?

Been looking on the US Yamaha website & saw that next year there's a new 1300 due out (though as a tourer prob not in the UK!?) Looks like Yam are finally sorting out the handlebars... Has any one had a chance to sit on one of these yet ? I stopped by the local dealer Saturday and they had two, one a ourer one not - but just as I found them my autistic son had a melt down and we had to leave to calm him down. Opinions ?

I just bought a 1982 xv750 and I plan to bob it out. Anybody know much on the bike; problems with it? Any one know a good site to find custom parts- mostly custom seats? Any info could help

I had a restrictor fitted to my 2004, XVS650 when I purchased it, I am now out of my 2 years and now want it removed. The restrictor is supplied by FI International and was fitted by my local dealer. I am not sure where it is located (the restrictor not my local dealer), air intake side or exhaust side and if it is a big job to remove it. If I can do the work myself I can save £50.00 and then spend it on shiny things for the bike. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Hello everyone! Just joined the club having bought a 650 Dragstar after 45 years of wanting another bike!!!

Hi Everyone, Newbie here, 1st post, guess what I've got a problem !! Have had 7 yamahas since 17 and am now getting back into them at 45 !! Started with an XS250 all the way up to a VMAX1200 FULL POWER Scary !! Anyway, settled with a XVS650 1997 Dragstar am am loving it !! Had it 4 weeks now and took my wife out on it today for a 12 mile ride in the country, she loved it !! Came home and took my 18 year old daughter out for a spin. Got 1 mile from home approaching lights and it just cut out !! 100 yards from lights, pulled in clutch and freewheeled to a halt. Tried starter button--nothing. Selected neutral pulled in clutch--nothing. Switched off li…

Hi all, I've got myself a nice XVS 125, which I've ridden for a year or so. Unfortunately, last week, the handlebar stem snapped! I wan't riding at the time, just pushin git around. Anyway, to the question. Does anybody know where I can get a replacement from? I've tried various scrap yards, but there doesn't appear to be anything around. The part from Yamaha costs £92+VAT and delivery, so I'd rather go somewhere cheaper!!! Thanks!
