    dtr125 with a dep silencer, when i got it last october up till the topic about starting problems last month it would do around 70 easily and at a push 80,but since then when it hits 60 the revs jsut stop even downhill with the wind wont go above 60 and thts in 5th still dosnt go faster in 6th jsut lower revs ne1 hav any ideas? cheers

    Hi i have had a Yamaha DT 125 for about a week now, although i havnt riden it much, however yesterday i went round a friends house and as i left i reved it up to around 5000 rev's and it just cut out, and i have not been able to start it since. ive made sure im not being a jack ass and have just run out of petrol, but i have still got a half tank, and i have plenty of oil. plz can somone help??

    Hi All, Have just bought a 1998 DT125R and have noticed a slight (?) problem with it. I was hoping one of you more knowledgeable folk could help. When I start the bike, the oil warning light comes on and stays on, when the bike is in neutral. As soon as I select a gear, the oil warning lamp goes out (as does the neutral light). There is plenty of oil in the tank. I was wondering if it might be an electrical problem in the clock unit maybe, as the oil warning lamp seems to come on and off with the neutral lamp? Or is this supposed to happen and the bike is trying to tell me something? I don't have an owners manual, and the Haynes manual says nothing about it. Ca…

    Hi guys- im new to the forum (and new to an old dt 175.) at least, ive been told its a DT175, but i cant find anything that tells me for sure, also, I need to know the year of the bike. I dont have a photo right now, but it has a monoshock, appears to be late 70's, maybe early 80's. Can anybody tell me what some distinguishing factors might be of the years? Thanks Ben

    my 2003 dtr has had all the usual restrictors took out and is fairly quick for a 125,but not quick enough. just ordered my full dep system today £220 front and back pipe.the bloke said i wont get the most out of it till i fit bigger jets,could anyone tell me what size jets ill have to go up to?ive read through the forum and all the info is conflicting.some are saying 230-240 and -250??? that seems a lot from (as far as i can gather)210 standard. is there any other thing i can do to make it any quicker or is that about it? ive got the racing reeds/plug.and as far as i can see all the restrictors are out apart from cutting the rubber off the inlet manifold,but then so…

    I have a 1976 DT400 that is relatively new to me. In fact, bikes are relatively new to me. It starts and runs great, but has no battery, so I'm assuming it runs directly off the alternator? When I bought it the head & tail lights worked, but were very dim. Now they don't work at all, I've been told it's because the DC will burn out the lights because there's no battery. So - what parts do I need to get in order to bring it "back to stock?" By the way, the on/off switch is broken - I kill the bike by either the compression release or just stalling it out. And there are no turn signals either. I guess it's set up "hotwired." Any suggestions? I like cruising th…

    I just rebult my front brake caliper on one of my dirtbikes and now the brake wont work.I put in new brake fluid and everything but it wont work for some reason.I was told that I have to bleed the caliper to get the air out of the lines but I dont know much about disk brakes so i dont know how to bleed them.Is bleeding the caliper what im supposed to do?If so how do I bleed it?

    Hi all hope you can help me with this , im looking for a cdi unit for my 1986 dt125lc mrk 3 ive tried numorouse breakers and cant find one anywere ! i dont wont to pay top doller for a new one i didnt pay much for the bike so dont wont to go stupid with parts if you get me .     I have a chance to pick up a 1982 YZ 250, that appears in very good shape. It has never been apart, still on factory bore and appears compeletly original. The person selling says it runs very well but is cold hearted and hard to start. Since I've been out of MX bikes for 30 years, what should I look for a problem areas on this specific bike? I have reasonable mechanicle skills and maintain a 2 strole 1972 Mach 3 Kawa street bike. Are there any NLA parts I need to look out for? I have seen the decal kits available but what about pistons and internals available or are the an Ebay search item? Thanks in advance Mike
