Hello, I have recently bought yamaha WFR400 98/99 At the moment Iam having a problem with the bike over heating. After 10mins ticking over the feeder tank under the seat starts to boil. Head gasket has been replaced. Cant find a thermostat Q. Should the bike start to boil after being left to tick over for 10 mins Q. Can anybody offer any advice

Hi. I have an XT250, old X reg (early 80's I think). It's been off the road for over 10 years. The carb is locked up and probably other issues. There's no way I could spend time getting it back on the road. Does anyone know of a place near Oxford where I could get it fixed? Cheers. Steve B.

Hi all. I'm new to the forum and pretty new to the 2 stroke thing. I JUST bought a 1973 Yamaha CT3 175 in great shape. However, it seems to stumble a bit at higher RPMs. I've seen this problem described several times on bikes for sale and figure there's some common thing that causes it. However, I don't know what the cure is. Are there any 2stroke guys out there that might have an answer? Thanks

I have just aquired a 1973 CT3 175 Enduro from a friend. The bike is in near perfect condition with only 2,200 miles on it. It occured to me that back in '73 there was lead in the fuel. I have read a couple of posts using the search feature on this site but have not come up with a difinitive answer for a bike of this year and model. It would be a shame to damage a bike like this due to lack of knowledge. Should I be running fuel additives in this bike and what kind? I also have read that octanes were different. Is 93 octane and a booster of some sort recomended. This bike probably will not have a ton of miles put on it so the cost of fuel per gallon is not important. Prot…

NEWBIE here... i tried the 'search' button but it dont seem to work for me !? iv got a B6 that im commuting on... i have a 1985 GSXR 750F/1200 plaything for the w/ends... & im thinking of purchasing a TDM for commuting/touring as a change from the B6 !! i can get really cheap extra sticky track tyres 17" sizes 120/160 which iv been using for 8yrs now all year round... £50 pair !! so im wondering if i buy a old model (upto 98)... if i can 'MOTAD' it by fitting it with a 17" hoop up front... maybe a straight fit... ie FZR etc il be honest... im a SUZUKI man @ heart... so im not too clued up with what YAMI stuff is interchangable !! appre…

Hi there, I'm new to the forum, and new to motor bikes really! I've been given this bike for free, I believe its a DT 175, It maybe a bit girly, but I'm sure it will do me for a first bike! The problem is, its not been run for about 6 years, what do I need to do or check before I try and fire her up? I've drained the fuel, and that's about it so far! awhile back i had a problem with all the electrics as the back indicator had been smashed so didnt work then everything stopped working, discovered that all the wires under the seat had melted together( shorted out from indicator i think) so after hours and many lenths of wire fixed all the wires so everything works fine now, horn, alarm, lights ect. the problem now is the neutral light and oil light dont work anymore, iv looked at all the rest of the wires under the seat and headlight but there all fine, could it be anything to do with a relay or something, or whatever detects its in neutral from the gearbox? thanks 4 anyhelp in advance

Hi New to the site........I need help. In the process of selling my TTR 600, went to start it today and while I was kicking it over (no electric start) there seemed to be a "clunk". Now there is no resistance on the kick starter, it doesn't seem to be engaging, it is free to move travels its full travel but just doesn't engage with any cogs/teeth/gears. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I can hear a click from the decompressor as the kick starter moves to the bottom of its travel. Could the problem be linked at all. The bike is a bit of a monster to start and can take a while with numerous kicks on the starter, have I just worn the mechanism…

well i bought a spotless 1998 XJ 600S Diversion from a man in the middleands. However, when his mate was delivering it he crashed it at low speed on a diesel patch. now the fairing is completely ruined with BIG cracks and scratches. . i am now looking for a replacement fairing and have come across a few earlier model fairings going second hand for good prices. i am wondering whether or not these will fit my bike? the fairing i am looking at buying is from a 1994 model whereas mine is a 1998. hi there i have took the back wheel off to change the tyre but as the bikes been stode for afew weeks now i thought id start it just to give it a run but i forgot to put it in nuetral as the light do'nt work and whn it i kicked it over the the sprocket turned and got the chain stuck, is it easy to get the front sprocket off without taking the left side engine casing off as i dont really want to drain any fluidsg unless theres a easier way??

I have an 86 XT350, I had the motor rebuilt, and with that the timing chain was replaced, along with the valves. The problem I have is, the motor seems to have a top end rattle. It sounds like a timing chain, or valves to me, but I am reasured by my mechanic that all it tight and in adjustment. What else could be making this noise? Is it a common noise for these bikes? It seems to have all the power it should, and starts and runs fine.

I have a 1998 suzuki rm 80(I known this is a yamaha forum but i could'nt find a good suzuki forum) and it has a few problems and I can't figure out what's wrong. One problem is that when I first start the bike and ride it,it has alot of power and takes off real good but when I start riding it for a while and start trying to do wheelies it looses power and it becomes slower to take off.If I leave the bike for about 30-60 minutes and ride again it will get its power back. Another poroblem is that for some reason my front wheel is a little crooked and it is causing the disk brake to rub against the pads when it gets to the part where its bent....could this be because t…
