    Have just spent most of my working day reading the forums....not sure my boss would be too happy but it has thrown up another question....two in one day. I have a 1998 DTR which has a seperate bottle for the 2 stroke so i don't have to premix. I filled it up and have only been out on the bike twice doing a total of about 40 miles, if that, and used about two thirds of the bottle. Is This Right? Am i using too much oil and if so can it be checked/adjusted etc Thanks all

    I have a raptor 700 and last ride it was stalling out on me and the engine light came on and stayed on solid the whole time the bike is running. now it doesnt really want to start up but it turns over fine. wen i have the key on any the bike NOT running, it is as if the engine light is giving a code off ( it blinks once slowly then 4 times fast)? does anybody know if these bikes give off engine codes? is the 700's efi used on and other bikes? Thx for any help Tommy

    Hi, first post so hello all. Just bought myself a little DT125 to rebuild as its a bit tatty, its a 1990 H-reg. With the bike I got a spare engine thrown in but its from a 2002 bike. Will the engine fit stright in? And will the parts be interchangable? The other question was the later engine has the power valve assembly and control unit still conected and I want to use that on the bike but i have noticed that the connections for the control unit are different. Would it be possible to buy a wiring harness from a later DT and fit it to my bike? Would i also need to buy a CDI unit for this? Or would it be easier to get a control unit which fits the existing harness? …

    Just got new xt125 and after owning a 125 before was expecting a bit more speed, but can't get the bike over 45ish! Is this because it's restricted, still running the engine in or a bigger problem? Any help would be appreciated. Also any1 else's speedo stop working?

    Hello everyone, im new to this! Looking at getting my first crosser in the next couple of weeks, ive narrowed it down to a YZ125 or KM125, just need some advice please! Im looking at either a 2001 or 2002 YZ125, got around £1300 to spend, which should get me an ok one from the looks of things! Just a couple of things, reading some reviews ive noticed that the 2001 has a 6 speed box and 2002 has a 5 speed box, which one is better? Is there anything to look for when buying and is the 2002 going to be alot better than the 2001? Thanks, Sam

    My friends (used to be mine) YZ250 quit running the other day. It still has compression. When he was riding it, it bogged then quit running. He kicked it over again and started and idled for prolly 5 seconds then bogged and died. If someone could help, cause nobody on Everything2Stroke will help, they are all worried about their blasters and banshees. Somebody help. Also, he replaced the seal behind the countershaft sprocket and it still leaks.

    does anyone know of anywhere online where i could order an air mixture screw for my dt as the turkey i bought it off decided it would be a good idea to horse it up real tight now i have to try and drill it out.

  10. I just bought a DT175 in Botswana. The bike comes from Yamaha South Africa. The headlamp dims so much when I apply the brakes, regaurdless of speed/rpm, that I can hardly see where I'm going. If I use my indicators, it does the same thing and when I use both, the light almost goes out. I managed to measure, with no other lights on, a 50 mV voltage loss on the negative side of the bulb and 450mV on the positive, making me suspect that the earth is good and they should have simply used heavier guage wiring from the factory. I would like to change the 165mm x 100mm headlamp with a standard, e-code headlamp housing anyway, which would require a different bulb base like the…

    i just bought a 1982 yz 125......this bike is unrestored mint. the original owner bought it in 82' and rode about 3hours, and stored in since then. it hasn't been fired since 83'. it is in perfect shape, and i'm flushing the cooling system and cleaning the carb before i fire it up. the only problem is that the gas tank got tired and brittle, and has a big crack in it. does anyone know where i could find a really nice original tank to replace it with? thanks, rick

    Is there anybody with ideas i can do with my XT125? The piston bust on it, it has been replaced and rebuilt new rings and rebored. The timing is now back as it should be, but i cannot get it to start, there is no valve damage, and i know that fuel is getting into the carb??? so what now??? please shed a bit of light cos its doin my head in!!!

    Just traded my pw80 for a 2005 ttr125 off craig's list. needs some attention which it didn't receive from previous dipsh#@ owner. have gotten all perfect except the carb. can't get it to idle. have dissected it and used the manual to check settings and unfortunately it just doesn't idle. runs good otherwise. have the idle set screw turned in almost all the way. the air screw setting on the bottom of the carb is only open about 1 1/2 turns. the carb has an ink stamp 'RM' on it. perhaps this means remanufactured? anyone care to toss in some sound advice. hate to have to spend the $$ at the dealer or buy a new $210 carb.

    i have a 98 pw80 i bought about 3 weeks ago it was running like shit after i cleaned the carb jets an i juss bought a whole new carb an it fireds right up now the only thing is when i full throttle it in every gear it like bogging out so i have to let off the throttle to get it moving any one have any idea what i could do to get it running right please let me know thank you

    Hi everybody,could anybody tell me how many teeth are on the front and back sprockets of an 1989 XT600 tenere?I just got a set and fitted them but the rear had an extra 9 teeth to the one that was on the bike originally,must admit the acceleration is a lot better,probably lose some at the top end but I don't really thrash it anyway,just a query, cheers Andy

    Hi everybody, I am a newbie to this forum. Need some helpful advise please. Just bought a 83 TT600 that had a seized piston. Got everthing back together and now have no spark. Have gone through all wiring and tests that I can do and everything seems to test ok. Is there a way of testing the CDI box so I can know for sure if that is the issue. I find it hard to swallow that the spark box went tits up since the piston seizure. The previous owner did not mention any ignition issues, just the top end.
