I am looking at buying a used YZ426F and was hoping there would be some people out there to either talk me into this or out of this. It is listed for $2800CND and I think this is a pretty good price, have only seen pictures of the bike and the guys lists it as being in great shape, and new graphics, seat cover, clutch, newer rear starcross tire, and handguards. I know this is a Yamaha site and all will be telling me to go for it but if I could get some of the bad sides of this bike as I know all bikes have them that would be great. Let me know what you think of that price as well. Thanks Jeff

Hi Just got myself a 88 XT350. Its an import and needs some TLC, great mechanical order, just a bit scruffy on the bodywork side of things. Looking forward to some fun times during the winter sorting it all out. Cheers John

howdy, i just signed up because i've been trying to find out about the new dtr 125x but been having no luck. i've been dying to get a motorbike for ages (been riding downhill mtb's for years) and i've always had my heart set on a yz125. i've recently decided against this as there's nowhere to ride one and they seem a bit highly strung. anyway i was out shopping with a mate yesterday while he was hunting for a nice 400 sports bike and i spotted the 125x. i totally fell in love with it, it looks amazing. it looks like you could really throw it around and have some fun on it and still ride it to work and the girlfriends house. plus it seems like the perfect bike for some…

I have downloaded the valve clearances from the Yamaha specifications. I'd like to save the cost of a service manual if all I want to do is adjust my valves. Does anyone know if the valve adjustment on a 2005 TT-R230 is screw-and-locknut or shim-and-bucket?

I'm pickup up an XT550 on Saturday, which I want to restore to it's former glory. Now, how would I know if it's a J or a K XT? What's the main difference between these 2 models? Regards, Spyker

Hello Forum, Hope someone may know of this problem, my xt600e 2002 is consistently cutting out/spluttering if you use it at full throttle at high speeds, for instance motorway it is useless i have to keep it at 70 to stop this happening. It has a predator exhaust and has just been dyno'ed and rejetted - it had the problem before this, since dyno it is quicker and runs better, but i am flummoxed and it is ruining a great bike for me. I have tried carb cleaner, before dyno, no joy, could it need an uprated fuel pump or new fuel tap, i was wondering if it could be a vacuum occuring, or is it ht lead? Please throw some ideas this way if you can, thanks Teeb. java script…

Just in case you all think that I am too biased, I should point out that the XT is hard work on Motorways. 75 mph+ over any distance is seriously hard work and it kills your arms: It + rider have the aerodynamics of a brick. If you are into big fast tarmaced/paved distance work the XTs are not as good as dedicated tourer. On a weekend to the South of France and back any half decent faired road bike would kill the XT. blow it into the weeds. If, on the other hand, you are planning to cross Africa between January and April, the XT is the right tool for the job. Additional Edit - On my recent trip to Scotland 150 Motorway miles were tolerable because we kept to 75 mph and …

This is to inform everyone of a specific forum dedicated to the Yamaha XT660X & R, the forum is run by myself and other veteran XT660 oweners who have an intense knowledge of all issues regarding these bikes, issues such as mainentance, avalability of parts / deals and we have own sponsored companies offering discount to our forum members. Any problems with this bike like the usual surging / ecu / tps have all been overcome and we have now a specialist mechanic on board who has patented the Kev Mod which helps regulate the current by use of capacitor inserted in the wiring to the ecu / fuelling sensor hence making the cut -off problems history. The forum can be fou…
