Dual Sport, Offroad Bikes

hi everybody. i know this question has been asked sooo many times but im having trouble understanding things i have been told. anyway i have a 2003 dt125r and basically theres no powerband anywhere or engaging of ypvs and the bike goes no faster than 60mph at 7000rpm. I was wondering if anyone could run through a step by step guide on the methods to get the bloody thing a bit quicker lol. im sorry to those who are sick and tired of this question. many thanks

hello everyone, I was wondering if anybody could help me identify the problem i have with my bike at the moment, once i have been riding around for like a minute the red light lights up and the bike starts to overheat im not sure weather it is an air block in the water pump, if the radiator has packed up, if it is the thermostat or the head gasket has gone does andybody have any idea how i would be able to tell what is wrong any help would be much appriciated thanks.

Anybody know if the front wheel off a DT or XT 125 super mot fit straight in an XT350 or if you need spacers etc, a lot of the DTR stuff seems to match the XT350. any advice?

Hey guys, I just bought said bike and i am a performance junkie always out to make things better. I have some ideas but first i have to say this is the coolest bike ive ever. anyways on to what i want to do and if any one has done any of this or could point me in the right direction 1)upgrade to disc brakes. I know this could require a bit of parts and work but thats no problem this bike is easy to work on. 2)upgrade suspension. possibly to change to disc brakes but i want it a bit stiffer or even just replacing front springs and buying aftermarket rear 3)any one have an old 175 motor for sale i have some work im going to do but want a new motor. mainly bore 10 over…

ok so i arrived at the test centre this morning a nervous wreck jumped on my bike settled down and got into it done all the manovers everything cool i thought id definantly passed then we were on the way back i was thinking how well i coped being in a place i have never been to anyway so close to the test litterally 50meters i took a left into this park and ride car park and the examiner drove past and stopped told me i had taken a wrong turn so i spun around out the car park turnt left then the next left into the test center was absolutly gutted when he told me it was a no left turn i should of went right then round the roundabout and back up 2 MINORS AND I BUGGERED IT U…

Alright all. Lookng at getting an XT660R next year then doing a 4500 mile trip across eastern Europe, to Turkey then back via Greece and Italy. Do we have any XT owners on here? How do you think it would cope to the mileage. I am hearing good reports already but I think the more views I get can only help to make up my mind. Over to you. Cheers

Does any one know if the DT X wheels will fit a DT RE? I know the front forks are different but would the spindle be the same?? I know the back one should fit cos its the same swing arm. TIA.

as ive been hitting the trails quite regular now on my R reg dt125r ive noticed after going through some deep puddles/revers etc. water appears to have gotten into the gearbox oil somehow and the oil goes a white/transparent colour. can anyone suggest where it might be getting into the engine. ive had the sidecases of the engine and it doesnt seem able to get in from there. has anyone experienced/resolved this problem before? thank you rich

Just bought a parts bike that has 2k9 on frame and center housing was replaced so no numbers on engine case. Bike appears to be an IT250, has dual coils and 2 spark plug holes. Missing some parts and I wanted to know what I had before I started to order parts. Also, did this bike have a title or are they like the YZs? someone had a plate attached to back fender but I didn't think the ITs were streetable... missing front rim-brakes-axle-brake lever, rear brakes and springs, rear brake arm and linkage. throttle cable wasted, in fact i think it is the wrong one because it would never fit onto the carb, clutch perch gone too... I bought my first bike couple days ago. I picked up a 01 Yamaha YZ125. I went to Berts and bought everything I needed for and I changed all the fluids and changed the plug. Bike starts first kick. Is this a good bike and anything else I should know? I know very little about it. I will try to post a pic Thanks

Hello. I have a xt660r, but it is to tall for me, how can i make it lower? what do you recomend? try to rise the front fork 3cm, put the rear shock on the lower regulation? i know that there are some kits to rise/lower thr rear suspencion, but that is too radical. Thaks.

Anybody got a headlight with chrome bezel and headlight grille for 1980 dt175mx

As you can guess i am new to this have just bought 1980 dt175mx [mid life crisis] .The bike has no indicators and am looking to fit some have traced green wire and brown wire which i assume are for indicators but are live without ignition can anybody advise me on this

Hello, I've fitted a CRD Absolute Power II exhaust followed by lowering the needle clip one notch and raising the main jet by ten points as per instructions from CRD however i just carried out a "plug chop" at 4,000 and found the electrode to be mostly covered in white so it appears to be running lean. Is there anything else i can do? Thanks Joe
