Hi, For my 1979 DT250F I still need a owners manual.Also what is the function of the oil light? when is it on/off etc..Need info. on base carburetor screw set up,to start it up.I appreciate your anticipated help on this.

HI ALL BASICALLY IVE GOT MYSELF A 07 PLATE DTR 125, ELECTRIC START MODEL, THING IS I BOUGHT IT SECOND HAND FROM A GARAGE AND ALTHOUGH THE BIKE IS 1 AND A HALF YRS OLD ITS DONE 11000 MILES, ITS GOT THE FULL DEP EXHAUST FITTED BUT ITS STILL WELL SLOWER THAN SOME OF YOUS ARE SAYING YOU GET OUTTA YOUR BIKES, I TRIED LOOKING FOR THE WIRE TO EARTH THE POWERVALVE BUT THERE AINT ONE IN THE BLOCK WHICH SUGGESTS TO ME ITS ALREADY EARTHED, APART FROM THAT I NO NOTHING!!! IT SEEMS LIKE A FAST BIKE, BUT ONLY HITS 75 MAX AND IM NOT A BIG GUY ( 5'7 AND 10 STONE) SO WAS EXPECTING A LOT MORE OUT OF IT, IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME I WOULD BE SO THANKFULL. PAUL..

Hello fellow Yamahamers, I have need of your assistance. I am resurrecting a dead dirt bike and need to know all the proper carb settings. I can't get this thing started. It pops and sputters but no joy. The air screw has no retainer spring, should it have one and does its absence affect the setting of said screw? What about the throttle stop setting? I know nothing of the history of this engine because it came via ebay. It took some time to realize that the cylinder does not have the autolube input hole, this cylinder may be from a YZ. The bottom end is from a '76. The reeds seem O.K., it's sparking. The carb seems to be working. Gas leaks out of the overflow pipe…

Hi all I work as a photographer on MCN & I've just been given a 2008 Tenere as my long term ride. Part of the deal of having a long termer is to try & create a reader based forum to exchange views & ideas on various bike related subjects such as upcoming events & rideouts as well as more technical aspects of being a Yamaha owner... hi im new to the site, im about to take my test and im going to buy a wr 400f, ive seen a few supermoto style ones but am not sure if they come like that are do they have to be changed, if the dont what work is involved and is it costley? cheers

i have fitted a arrow exhuest system to my xt125 some told me to put in a bigger jet i phoned up a shop about it they said it is not worth it would any one now if it is or not

Hi all I'm in the process of rebuilding an XT350 as is a mate and he is stuggling with the front caliper for his (i.e. he hasn't got one). We tried fitting my caliper to his to check it was trhe same but is doesn't fit, we also tried a TT350 caliper that I bought thinking it would fit straight on mine (anybody need one???? let me know) and this also doesn't fit as the fixing lugs on his fork leg are much farther apart than on mine. The fixing bolt centres are about 100mm apart on his forks. Any body any ideas what might fit?? Cheers

Hi, I've been on the hunt for a Bush set for my DT175 MX swingarm, my local dealer can't (or won't) get spares for earlier than 91 model bikes. Is that usual? Also does anyone have an idea where I can get one, as my search has so far turned up nothing? Regards,

Right got the bike stripped down. Its a yamaha dtr125 1994 model with powervalve. but wont fire up, its got fuel in and theres a spark but heres the problem. Theres a spark when the ignition is not on but stops when ignition is live. So ignitions on and all lights, temp guage and powervalve works but theres no spark, then cut the ignition and theres a spark and it fires up for afew secs then dies again. Had this problem before it got stolen where the spark would sometimes stop and to start it you had to flick the ignition on while kicking it over. Could this be something simple ignition coil? or would a whole rewiring be needed? Also the nuetral light stopped workin…

Whats the words of wisdom on welding a petrol tank? I've drained it and left it with the top off overnight and think that this should be ok - anyone tried this before?? what did you do? cheers boys

Hello all, I'm new to this forum. I purchased a 1976 dt125 with only 4600 miles and in excellent condition. I enjoy driving it around town. I get a lot of compliments and it's much cooler than a scooter. Is there anything I can do to get a little more power out of the engine? Top speed is currently 55mph if I'm not driving into the wind. With the wind in my face I have to down shift to maintain 40mph.

Hey all, I'm davrom0 new to the site. I got a 1974 DT175A with oil induction system - does anyone know what type of oil I put in the induction system? Also I heard you can premix if you do not want to use the oil induction or if it is inop, is that true. I will be selling this bike soon - but need to know this so can get it running and fixed up a bit. thank you, davrom0

RE: Rust on exhaust Bike: Yamaha DT 125 RE (2006 reg). As many of you already know the exhaust (front and end pipe) on a DT 125 can rust very quickly. When I bought the bike a month ago with 10.000 miles it already had some rust on the exhaust. After riding for a month it's getting much worse and becoming very ugly. I don't wanna spend too much money on it (credit crunch LOL).
