ok yesterday my bike when getting up to about 60 feels like it goes then like holds back and it doesnt really rev past 8K i have never had a problem with it getting up to 75 and revving freely to the red line never taken it over apart from the odd accident. its hard to explain what its like but at about 58Mph it starts holding back then going then holding back whats the problem? any ideas? i thought it could be a clogged air filter so i took it out sprayed carb cleaner on it blew it out with a air line and it doesnt seem much better at all? please send ur suggestions thnx

Yamaha UK have point blank refused to provide me with any documentation whatsoever regarding this trike. The guy I spoke to said that although he could read anything I wanted to know, including the date of manufacture, to me over the phone, Yamaha UK do not give this information in writing or on paper because the trike was never intended for road use. My trike has indicators, road tyres, full front and rear and stop lights, horn, speedometer, the works. I am sure I can put it on a 'Q' plate if Yamaha won't provide this info, but I know there are TRI-Z's out there on 1980's VRMs D's, E's whatever (I have seen them in the past) Q plating will be a lot more time co…

hi ive got a husqvarna wr125 1991 with a yamaha dtr 125 1996 engine in it but i have been unable to get the engine started since fitting it. it has good compression and im getting a good spark it will fire with a bit easy start but wont actually start. i have tried fresh fuel/2 stroke cleaned out carb/jets although there was one i couldnt get out but blew it all through with airline and seemed ok. i am premixing the fuel/2stroke in the tank at 30/1 is this a good mix? any help would be much apreciated as i started this project over a year ago and its driving me mad now. thanks all

hey , i'm new here and i'm trying to get my 81 dt175 going 100% , but i'm having some issues . you can give it as much gas as you want and it does fine untill you hit 6k , then it just flutters there , does it in neutral or under load . i checked the float height and it was off so i set it to factory spec . the slide needle isn't adjustable , the autolube pump seems to be adjusted right (peg lines up with the dot) , all jets clean . once i'd done all that i could get it to go to 6.5k rpm and sometimes a little higher but it would start gurgling . then i thought hey , maybe the air cleaner isn't as clean as it looked , so i took it out and found the back side of it sopping…

  9. Hi Guys, I'm 25 and have wanted an off road bike since a young lad. I'm around 6 foot and 12-13 stone and physically fit. I'm not sure on what bike to get. I have noticed there is a YZ85 Big Wheel. Is this too small for someone of my size? I cannot decide which bike to go for as a starter bike 125cc or 85cc BW? I will be mainly using the bike on Sundays, for fun, on off road trails and field's etc... nothing serious, not racing. I have around a grand or so to spend so was looking at a 2000-2002 model. Also do they require a lot of maintenance?? Sorry for all the questions, just want to know everthing before spending my money. Thanks for the he…

I just purchased a 1999 WR 400 and it is a beast to crank, I have been choking it and pushing the kick start through top dead center by pulling the compression release then kicking it ,...man,.. and if I choke it down in the woods it again is the devil to get cranked, is there an easier cranking method? also what does the red choke button do? thanks for anyone willing to comment.

Ok i ordered a set of seals for my dt 125 1989!!! Took them to local mechanic to fit them and when he stripped my old ones off they were the wrong ones. I went back to the bike shop and they state they are the correct ones for my bike. The seals that came out are 20mm thick and the new ones are half the size. Anyone know if the bike shop are giving me the wrong ones or any other ideas? The bike shop told me that the old ones have a built in dust seal but my mechanic ( a clever man ) swears blind that there isnt a built in dust seal. Any thoughts on this guys?
