Dual Sport, Offroad Bikes

As a new member, could someone please tell me what the correct tyre pressure should be for my DT 125 sm (05 plate) and could someone recommend a decent set of tyres as I think mine are prpobably past their best even thought the treads look ok. BTW, I use my bike for commuting only to and from work. Cheers

Hi, I'm a newbie to this site and I have just recently bought a DT 125, 1982 registered. I have got 2 problems with it. The first is the headlights don't work. I have been working on it all yesterday and a bit today studying the wiring diagram to try to get the headlights to work. Question 1. Are they supposed to work off the battery or only when the engine is running as they won't do either! Any help here would be great. Also the engine won't run at higher revs and coughs and splutters, but starts, idles and low/medium revs ok, dropping the needle a notch and breathing unfiltered air helps a little. The main jet is a 140 and I think it should have a 130, carb is marked…

Can anyone tell me if all the front wheels off XT600s are interchangeable, or what the differences are, as I want to fit one to an XT600 front end from circa 1985 I am putting on my XT550, and have seen one for sale but the seller does not know which XT600 model it is from. Thanks Nick

I have a Yamaha DT125R (2006reg), has 10.000 miles and I believe it still has the original tyres. The back tyre needs to be replaced really soon. The front tyre is still in very good condition (original tyre) I commute to work on the bike every day. All the riding is done within London mostly. Any recommendations and what prices should I be looking at with fitting including. I'm thinking of doing in my local Yamaha dealer. Cheers guys

i have oil leaking from behind the front sprocket does any one know if the oil seal can be replaced witout spliting the crank case.

Hi, I recently bought a 2005 XT125X which has been running fine, until I accidentily managed to get some water in the petrol tank. After draining the tank and carb, the bike ran fine again, but I now notice that the fuel vent pipe is leaking petrol. about a drip every 10-12 seconds. It doesnt drip while the bike is running, but when off it leaves a puddle and wont stop until the bike is started. The other problem is that it seems to stall a fair bit, but I think I may have tightened the idle speed screw when putting the carb back together, but thought it was worth mentioning. bought it sunday! Drove it monday ran fine! tuesday the bike wouldnt run i cleaned the carb the carb is getting fuel the spark plug is sparking and it turns over when u kick! i have tried to push start it and it didnt work. does anyone know why it wouldnt be working? its not a seized piston is it? im so confused on why it wont start

Can anyone send me correct sizes for a decal set. I'm looking to fit the "Hockey stick" type decals to the tank and the small flash and ENDURO 175 logo to the side panels. Sunrise Graphics want a lot of money for the complete set but I have found a graphics company that will manufacture a complete set for £16. I have a photo of the set but need all the sizes, can you help ??? Thanks.

Can someone tell me if I should see a constant flow of 2 stroke oil from the oil pump to the carb, ie should the small clear plastic pipe be full of oil all when the bike is running ??? Having just got the bike up and going I’ve noticed the oil pipe appears to be sending oil in small slugs with lots of air pockets between oil delivery. I’m not exactly sure how the oil is fed, the pump is working but is the oil drawn via some vacuum from the carb ?

I've got a 2004 Yamaha TW 125, which needs a new exhaust. The stock backbox has rusted right through, and is beyond repair. The front section is all intact. So, I need a new rear section to connect to the front and a backbox. Sounds easy enough, right? The only aftermarket exhaust I can find is >£400, which seems a bit excessive to me. I've been to a couple of garages who can't find anything either... So I think I'm looking at some sort of custom job. I originally wanted to get some sort of generic 4-stroke tailpipe, and get a bit of custom pipework to connect it to the front section, but the specialist in my area has got a big queue of work (2 months!) so it's not …

Whilst cleaning the bike over the weekend i noticed that there has been an oil leak around the header pipe throughing oil over my engine casing. Has anyone had this before and how could i solve this? TIA
