is it worth gettin a DEP SILENCER for my DT125R how much of a diffrence will it make? and in what ways? also ive heard standard silencer is better is that true ? thanks

Hi, was just reading the other thread on 'new rings for DT175' and read that the clearance between the piston skirt and bore should be 0.035 - 0.04mm. I have just bought a rebored barrel, new piston, rings etc to convert my DT125MX and decided to check mine out. The bore 'appears' to be ok according to the new rings which when placed in the bore give the correct end gap but the new piston appears to rattle a little in the bore and I am able to get a 0.06mm feeler in between skirt and bore. The piston is made by MITAKA and i was wondering about the accuracy of manufacture and if this is a quality manufacturer or not ? ! Or is it more likely that the bore is not accurate. …

These are rookie questions I know, but I just purchased a sweet low mile 1981 DT 175 and the previous Owner is still looking for the original manual. Can anyone tell me the viscosity and amont for the transmission oil, the spark plug gap, and the spec for chain adjustment? Thanks - Chris

Hello one and all, new to this forum. I have an old G reg XT600z it needs some work, to get it in tip top condition. Im thinking of taking it on a LONGGGGGGG tour to India. What are your thoughts on such a bike doing such a long distance tour. Also if i do decide to do this, i will need some help with reconditioning the bike and getting it ready is there anyone out there who could help, for a small charge of course. Many thanks Realy want you good and bad comments on this. Otherwise i need to buy something like Goldwing or BMW?

As its says rly, has anyone did it.Im guessing that i will have to change the yokes and all the rest,But will i be able to fit a speedo on so that i can see speed etc or... Does anyone know where i can get some really good front and rear suspension as i went on my first mx track the other day and omfg i love it, just when you land the shocks or not the best as you can guess there not meant for it. I will get a yz125 etc but i really cant afford it atm so just went to beef my dt125r up a bit as i does the job,By the end of the day i was over taking must of the ktms,yz etc and keeping up with some of the other guys. Mx is the way for me.

hey guys can i got a 77 dt 175 mx from the tip for a hundred bucs and been working on it for a wile when i got it the piston was seized cause it had been left dry for years how anybody could let that hapen to a great litle bike is beyond me but was wondering can i replace the piston rings without reboreing and replaceing the piston can i just slap em on and away i go basicly can i get away with it ???? and one more thing im finding it hard to maintain an even idle there are no itake or exust leaks garenteed it seems like im for ever playing with the idle scweew i have already filed off the impreshion the scweew leaves on the carbi piston and cleand the tip off the scweew…

My DT125X needs a new chain and sprocket set after covering 13k miles. Any advice on a decent set? I know Renthal have a reputable name, but I can't find a renthal set for the DT. Is a standard yamaha kit the way to go? Any advice gratefully received, Jam353

Sorry, more carb questions. I'm converting my DT125MX 1982 with the barrel, head, carb etc from a 1978 DT175MX. The bloke I bought them of swears that the carb is correct and original but I can't find it in the manuals! its a mikuni, stamped 4L100. The carb looks quite a bit bigger than the 125's and when I Googled the number it came up as a VM26. Right so here are my questions :- Have VM26's ever been fitted to the 175's ? Would they work on a 175 (overbored to + 1.50)? Could the 125 carb work on the 175 engine? Can I buy the correct carb anywhere if the answers to the above are negative? Also how do I check if it is a VM26 and confirm the Google info, I presume the…

I have just started renovating a DT200R 1988 ? ( if you read this Jim, this is all the model info i could find re. frame no 3ET 005292 ) After mending a broken servo cable and freeing the powervalve everything worked ok - for a short while . Now when turning on the electrics , the servo doesn't centre , just throws all 1 way . Are circuit parts available ? could an electronics guy fix this ? I presume its best to have the powervalve left at the closed position as I want a rideable rather than cammy race bike . Any ideas welcome Cheers Bob

Hi I've currently got the ypvs pegged open, and it has a dep exhaust but it doesn't want to rev to the red line still. Anyone know why. My old rg125 had no trouble revving to about 12k but my dt will only rev to about 8-9k but it really struggles through it. Does the jetting need to be changed? It's a 1997 bike Cheers

dt 50 tank in new condition dunno what year but it mx style white with black and red decals 125 parts include seat ,crank,engine casings,magneto,kick-start,carb,radiator, i dunno what year but it is a water-cooled drum brake model. pictures will follow offers on parts plz.

heres afew shots of my 04 dtr 125.. fookin love this bike.. { proberly in the wrong place to be posting } forgive me im a noob here.. shes always clean.. well for now as i have a set of bridgestone ed 663 for the front and a ed668 for the back on the way for it .. offroad here i come.. starts first time every time.. sounds really buzzy and moves like fucking lightning.. 84mph.. so far .. thats fast enough for me anyhow.. where can i get plastics for her as they seem to be hard to find... thanks in advance
