    hi all. i have a problem with my dt. my boy was on it up the woods the other day. he came out of the woods,accelerated in first,missed a gear,so reved it in neutral before going in to second. when he took off,the bike started spluttering,and back fireing,and rattling like hell. there is no go in it. it was fine before he missed a gear. i have checked the timing,and that seems ok. when you try to start it, it back fires. it does run,but there is no go in it. it is making a loud rattling noise from the head. anyone have any idea what the problem is . cheers colin.

    Hello, I recently purchased a 97 Yamaha RT100 and I am having issues with it bogging over time and stopping. When we first got the bike it would run fine for about one blast down the street and as you slow down you could hear the engine start to bog and die. When the engine started to die you would have to give it almost full throttle to keep it running, and even at full throttle the bike will continue to run but the engine doesn't really accelerate. We then started with cleaning the carb and checked for factory settings. All jets removed cleaned, float bowl height measured, needle clip checked, pilot screw 1 1/2 out from seated position.   3. Hi, DTR125 2001 I want to install a Cig Lighter Socket so i can charge the sat nav ! I have the socket but wanted to check first weather its as easy as wireing straight from the battery as all male cig lighter plugs are fused.     i recently had my engine out because the gears weren't right so i sorted that, now i think that the clutch is unbalanced. can anyone tell me the symtoms of an unbalanced cluth please.

    Hi All Last week my TW125 started to misfire and i can't find out why,i have changed the plug,cleaned all the wiring and sprayed all the connections with WD40 to make sure there are no wet connections,I have checked the HT lead and it looks fine. Is there anything else i should check before i strip down and clean the carb . it feels like the bike is not pulling up to top speed with the throttle open and splutters a lot. HELP

    Hi Everyone, I have a 1997 DT125R it used to be running absolutly fine before I bought it. I bought it off mate and put everything back together and now it wont rev past 9k which makes it go slow. I have taken pipe off looked up the barrel and turned the powervalve so it is completly open and pinned it there, it has a full dep system on it aswell i just cant get my head round that it wont rev past 9k revs. And suggestions are welcome, Many Thanks, Paul

I have looked at each one and they all look the same except for the cylinder head. What is the true difference? I would love to switch my 360 cylinder with the sc500s

  12. Hi, my dtr 2001 gets to 60mph 7500rpm and then is a struggle to get the revs any higher or more speed. I have had 75mph out the bike down hill with the wind behind me, but am thinking that the reed switch in the speedo is limiting the revs anything past 60 ??? Any Help ? 2stroke ray

I have been looking on http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx to compare different models and have found: Front hub compatible with: 1999-2000 WR400F 2001 WR426F Rear hub compatible with: 1999-2009 WR400, 426 and 450 Does anyone knows what is different on the front hubs of the other years?     Hi. ive got a problem with my TY over reving. Once the bike is warmed up whenever i put it into neutral or pull the clutch the revs begin to rise to a point where i have to kill it or put it back into gear. The exaust is loose as the thread is knackered on the barrel (which im going to fix tomorrow hopefuly) would this cause the problem or is it something else. ive allready striped and cleaned the carb however the problem continued. cheers.

    hi everyone has anybody looked into converting a dtre 125 to a 200 or 230,i realise they will have different size bores,the main thing i am thinking is,is there enough room to fit the 200,230 crank with the longer con rod into the 125 crank cases,maybe a air cooled dt175 crank,any ideas welcome,has anybody had the 125 crank cases apart and noticed how much room around crank webs for a bigger crank. look forward to hearing from you all. cheers yamahait

    Hi All, a new one here. I just picked up an XT350 that I had previously owned and did a bunch of work to, but then traded it for another bike. I have it back now and realized that I put a new wiring harness on it and never thought that the keyswitch would possibly have to be by-passed. When I first got the bike the wiring harness was all cobbled together, but it worked. Since I have replaced it I am thinking the key switch not being bypassed would be causing it not to start. I have not checked spark but I know how these things work.... no key... no starty! It is a 1986 Yamaha XT350 with no lights, gauges or keyswitch, etc... can someone tell me what wires are the key swit…

    Hi, the later dtr's have the same rear mudguard as a DTX with the brake light built in on top which looks much better than my early version where the rear light is just above the number plate. will the later mudguard fit my 2001 dtr ? cheers 2 stroke ray
