Dual Sport, Offroad Bikes

Hiya everyone I'm in desperate need of two new rear panels and a rear fender but I'm completely hopeless at finding them. I have better luck fiding parts for a DT which is 30 years old rather than my actual 05 model lol!! I tried spraying my plastics myself but i haven't got a large dust free space so they got covered in dust while drying Would any of you people be kind enough to help me out and send me some links or phone numbers? Hi guys, Hopefully you can help me again. The 175 MX is almost back on the road as a 125 MX. New piston in, engine back together and sounds good, exhaust back on (slight leak at the manifold but fire gum will sort that) electrics all back together and working and the indicators flash wonderfully, but ...... when the lights are on, so do they! Any quick ideas? Everything else seems fine. Brake lights work, horn, speedo light, rev counter and the warning lights work now (someone had managed to mix up the rev counter, indicator and neutral lights when they had put it together at some point!) hi i have a 89' TDR 250, iv stripped an repaired her engine may times but i have one problem im confused about, after 3-4 mins ride i lose power then she runs on 1 cylinder, iv changed fluids, cleaned carbs and checked spark but its the same. iv got a small leak in gear oil seal but everything else is tip top. please help cos the missus is on my case for spending to much time with it. thanx

can't get nut off to change worn sprocket ,just want to make sure its a left handed thread before I up the leverage,any one out there to advise me ,cheers Spleenless

Members, I have a 1978 DT400E which I am in the process of rebuilding. I would like to put disc brakes on the front end. Just wondering if any of you have done this??? I was wondering if the new TTR forks and wheel would fit??? Thanks, Rick

I had a oil throttle cable on my bike(1974 DT175)with a broken-off cable tip at the pump end. I made a new tip and soldered it on, but it looks like the cable is too short. Can anyone tell me how long the cable should stick out past the housing and/or total cable length? Thanks!

hi folks.recently brougt a tt600 non starter.seller told me that whilst on tickover it jumped into gear and stalled.could anyone point me in the right direction please,is there anyone in the west midlands who could have a look?

Alright guys, I'm looking for a new chain and sproket set for my dt125lc3, i have noticed this site that sells the sprockets and chain seperatly but it's for a DT125LC MK3 My question is if the LC3 and the LC MK3 are the same model and so would it fit on my bike. Also I'm not to sure if my bike has the original standard sprokets on it so do any of you know how many teeth they have. On my bike I counted 16 on the front and 49 on the rear. Hey guys I recently bought a 1998 DT, but giving it a good once over i've noticed that the powervalve pulley has been broken (The small diamond shaped piece has completely snapped) and this is causing it to slip when it opens. Just wondering if there's anywhere i could get a replacement? Pattern part or a used part is fine, just want to get the thing running well. Thanks

Guys, I have a Yamaha RX100 (Indian and slightly underpowered version of the RS 100 T). I am planning to convert it to a DT 100 . The roads around the place where I stay is Lunar Landscape, so an on/off road bike is much better than a road bike. Please don't come to me with a chainsaw, there are enough stock RX 100's running around all over the country to justify this conversion. As the DT was never sold in India, I'll need some help before I can go ahead with this project. The parts I'll be fabricating are the Tank (in sheet metal), The Oil Tank Cover (in Fibre/Resin), The Fenders (from original Yamaha spares), and the Exhaust (full custom exhaust). …

Greetings people, got a bit of a problem, I can't recall how the chain tensioner goes together on my DT. Anybody do me a picture of one in situ so i can get mine on right. I know it doesent fit in an obvious way but when you have it right its a dodle but i just cant see it.

Hey everybody, My names Matt. I just picked up a 1978 DT off the side of the road for free. It is in pretty good condition but has not ran for some time. I am gonna tear it down and clean it up but first I need to ask a favor, I have no idea what bike I have. I know its a 1978 by the Manufacture plate. And Its definitely a DT. But I cant figure out how big the engine is. I know, kinda silly but I really appreciate any help!

well ive had alot of trouble with top speed with my dtr 125 2001. basicaly it seems to accelerate like a beast, yet once it hits about 60mph, it has nothing left, so i removed the 'reed switch' and it stays the same speed, but the revs keep climbing, surely this cant be right :S?(was thinkin maybe the speedo cable wasnt put back on right, but it went on the way it came off :S) ive got standard exahuast, but im pretty sure its not that restricting. any help please because i cant find anything anywhere haha. i just find the same old stuff, which doesnt ever help, and its got a recently rebuilt engine which was run in fine.

Hi, I recently bought a 'Big One' complete exhaust and fitted it to my 2003 DT 125 with no problem at all. The bike runs like a dream; in gears 1-5 the RPM freely runs up to 9-10k, with the powervalve kicking in at 8500 rpm. However! If I'm in fifth gear and kick up to sixth I lose RPM instantly and the bike bogs down to 55-60mph, with the RPM sitting at 7000. For example: Fifth gear = 70mph & 10,000 rpm no problem As soon as I kick up to sixth gear = RPM goes down to 7000 rpm and regardless of the amount of throttle, the bike reclines down to 55-60mph. If I put it into sixth at 45mph (before the exhaust swap it still had some acceleration at 40-45) …

Hi, my Dtr is going through gear oil at an amazing rate, basicly have to refill every 100miles or so, this cant be normal surely ? ! Have just had the return springs replaced with new gasget etc but its not leaking at all so i presume its burnning it ? H E L P ! 2strokeray !
