Hi there I just got a DT250 (I believe its a DT250MX from around 1977-80) which needs a little TLC. Does anyone know where I can get a Haynes Manual to help ensure I put it all back together? I'm in Germany. Thanks in advance for any help or useful pointers Martin

Hi all, i'm getting rid of the suzuki and looking at possibly a TDR to replace it. I'm going to have a look on the forum but i'm guessing a lot of the members are probably on here too. So good/bad. From my point of view i want a practical classic that i can leave std, wash, polish and harp on about how i dreamed about them when they were first out. I don't want a project just a tidy quick bike i can keep in real good nick and use. Personally i would prefer to pay extra for a proper minter.

Hi everyone,i hope someone can shed some light for me on this subject.I recently purchased a 175mx which has been used as a field bike.Its in a very sorry state but i would like to rebuild it and put it back on the road where it belongs.Unfortunately as usual with field bikes,there is no paper work what so ever,i only have bill of sale and frame numbers.I spoke to dvla and they told me to contact owners club.Can anyone tell me the procedure of finding out the reg number or year,and how to go about registering it.Many thanks guys

Hi i have a 98 dt 200r and it studders sitting on any speed and any rev but it sound good when i go up in speed it has a pro circuit exhaust system on it and its been re jetted for the exhuast system im not sure if its just the racing pipe and i carnt get a original pipe for it. Ive only been able to get 84 ks out of a tank is that bad or good for a dt Please help cheers

I have a 1979 Yamaha GT80 that I recently got running, but very poorly. I have rebuilt the carburetor and decoked the top end. It is hard to start and once started, will not idle. When giving it throttle and then releasing the throttle the rpms take a long time to slow down. There are two small hoses on the carb, but I can't see where they are supposed to connect. Can anyone help? Thanks, Dan

I replaced the cylinder the piston(rebuilt the top-end) and after putting it all together it started the 3rd kick. After I turned the choke off it bogged down and died, and now it won't start at all. I have done a full carburator cleaning and cleaned up the staitor because it was rusty and it does have compression(around 190psi). Still won't start .... any ideas?

My DT125R starts ok, then after an uncertain time of running it will splutter out, then will be very difficult to start up again. Anyone know what might be the problem? Cheers.

Bought me an 'Apico' stand today. lifts the bike off the ground for cleaning, inspecting lubing etc. motocross riders may well be familiar. Down height 12.5", Up height 16.5", lift weight max 120 Kg. Nice piece of kit, will do for both my DT's But would buckle under the bandit Price...£40

hi still having problems with startert solinoid. any info on the elctocal system on a 02 XT600E would helpful as so far no one has come yp with any kind of a thork as to wy they are braking it has been sugested that it may be over charging and so a generater fault. i dont se how this would have sauth a afect. If anyone knows any more about this sort of thing or some one els that migth have any ideas could they let me know.

Hey all Im doing a very long tour soon with the missus which includes some very cold weather. We both have heated gloves vests and insoles. I have an 09 XT660Z Tenere and am a bit worried about the amp drain of all this apparel on the battery. Does anyone know if this will be to much draw for the battery in cold weather or as it is a new bike will it be ok? Cheers.

Ok, so I have a DT200R '88. It's an old dirt bike but it's scrubbing up nicely. I've been rooting around with the jets and finally got it working properly (it now starts 1st or 2nd kick and runs with the choke off). This is a big step up from a bike that was a complete bitch to start and stalled 500m down the road. Anyway, MY IDLE! I can't seem to get a nice smooth idle in the low revs. I can keep it so it will idle a bit too high than what I'd like and then if it goes a bit lower it goes a LOT lower and needs prodding to keep it ticking over. I'm not sure what choices I'm left with. The idle screw is very far in to keep it running, way more than I'd like but as …

hi all , i have an xt125r baught new in 2009 , on three quaters to full throtle this bike has had detonation from new , i have only done 1400 miles on it but was wondering what damage this could have done ! at first i thaught it was the carateristics of the engine , then i thaught it was the restrictive exhaust and air clean up system on the exhaust . i had fitted at the dealers a new arrow exhaust system and when the problem was still the same i new it was pinking due to a lean mixture at over half to full throtle , it is at the dealers now and suspect that a larger main jet is going to be fitted to repair this problem , its stupid how engines have to be leaned off so mu…

Hey Guys and Gals just picked up used 1991 xt350 no start the bike has no spark. Is there any common concerns or just start at the beging with diag. What I would like to know is if I unplug the kill switch do I need to jump wires to buy pass or just unplug. Any help would be great. Also what purpuse is the switch on the kick stand. Thanks Steve

Hi All, My DTR has sudden developed an electrical fault. Usually, when you turn the key, the neutral light will come on, and youll hear the power valve reset. Only now, no light, and no movement from the valve. The first sign of trouble i had was after starting the bike normally, then as i rode home, the indicators did not work, although my front/rear and brake lights were still working. Nearer home, the indicators started working fine. When i got in, i decided to check it out, and noticed that when i turned the ignition on, the neutral light either flickered or comes on after a delay, like there was a bad connection.
