I'm gutted, the TDR tank has got a leak, i thought it was the fuel tap but on investigation there was the beginings of a tiny rust blister (as i thought) put my finger to it and got petrol from it. I am in the dark here. Good TDR tanks are rarer than gold plated pearl encrusted rocking horse spu...... Any suggestions, ideally i need to keep the tank as the bike is at present almost 100% as manufactured and try to damage as little as i can with the repair although thankfully the trouble spot is behind the LH rad cowl. I am in the dark on this, never had to mess with leaky tanks so i'm all ears if anybody can help.

Hi all, firstly i'll introduce myself, Im simon i'm 32 years old and about to get my first road leagal bike. I grew up riding bikes on fields from the age of 10 right up until i got my car licence at 17. I've now decided to buy a bike as i've always liked them, they're cheap motoring and fun, initially i was going to buy a dragstar 125 but got let down by the seller at the last minute, i've now decided to go for a DT and i have a choice of two, number one is a 1999 DT 125 R with 9000 miles, full dep sport in great condition, number two is a 2004 DT 125 RE with 9000 miles, full dep sport and great conditon, they are both of very similar price. so which is the better…

I have a 2000 yamaha wr400 and it came with when i purchased it a dakar electro sport lighting kit i can do all the hard ware install no prob but i never got the wiring diagram for it does any one have one they can up load or email me it would be greatly appreciated summer is hear i wanna ride thats all i need to complete. thanks in advance to any one who can help.

HI all, Here's a few pics of the new wheels I picked up a couple of months ago for $150. I figure good value if it runs and it' less than $1 per CC. I need to fix the slipping clutch and put the air filters back in place as it idles all over the place. It will at least start. I'll eventully get around to set the timing so if anyone wants to take a punt on the numbers on that please let me know. I was thinking of trying the points setting of a DT 175a and see how that goes. Gordo

Ok, i'm a fairly happy bunny in that i have the bike MOT'd, insured and taxed and its goes but ....... its now driving me mad. It keeps cutting out at junctions which is embarassing me now and knocking my confidence. Ive adjusted the throttle stop screw and i can get the bike to idle at 1500-2000 revs but then when you pull the throttle its stutters and dies. I then adjust it to 2000-3000 revs and its fine so i take it out for a blast round the roads and its cuts out when you come to pull away from a junction. It mainly happens or 99.9% happens when the choke is off even when the engine is warm. I havent adjusted the pilot screw as I would rather ask before adjusti…

Good evening all, I've read JW896's post of 02/09/2010 but still have some questions. I've just put the top end back together after a rebore ( got a new barrel dowel, from Yambits, as I was told to, thanks Oldgit ). Q1) On checking the oil pump "minimum stroke" the gap was at 0.55mm and had 8 shims. Haynes say it should be 0.20 to 0.25mm. I removed 4 shims and the setting is now 0.20mm. What I can't get my head round is this... when the gap was bigger, was I pumping more oil or less oil? Q2) Oil pump cable adjustment... When the cable slack has just been removed the pully guide pin does not line up with the "pip" on the pully. The raised boss stops against …

As i havent put my real name, seems nobody has commented on this post. so to clear things up, Hi everybody. My name is Max i live in the highlands of scotland and got my DT R 03plate.and had some problems with it It had a full DEP on and i would get to 60-65 downhill.thought that was fast seen as i moved on from a scooter! but every now and then when i started her warm when i got to bout 7000 revs it got real loud blowy kinda noise and i went flying got to 75 but no more! now this is a constant effect i think its good fun! but maybe not good for the bike. i got told from my friend that the inlet manifold gaurd plates might have shatterd and now open as far as t…

Hello everyone. I have a 2001 dtr 5000miles, i have brought a new exhust, taken out the reed switch and unpluged the PV and put it fully open. But it still wont go past about 65mph and there is no drive in th gear if anything it gets slower in 6th? Dose anyone know if there is a different restriction on it or any other way to improve the bike performance? Any Adive greatly appreceated

Hi, My girlfriend owns a DT125 2004 model. She has had the bike for a couple of years now and just recently a LED above the 60mph mark on the speedo has light up. This has never happend before. Please can someone tell me what the light is for and if it is anything that needs fixing? Thanks in advance.

Ok then, having completely refurbed the DT, got it mot'd, I'm now rediscovering my youth bouncing down the green lanes. Yumps, berms and streams, I'm still cocking them all up. However, something went wrong with the electrics yesterday, in that there aren't any. Battery has a full charge, and the main fuse is fine. Engine starts no problem, but lights, horn, indicators and instrument lights are completely dead. All connectors were corrosion free following the rebuild. I guess something has come loose somewhere. Any suggestions on where to start? Any help gratefully accepted. Lee

Just picked up a really nice IT 175. Runs great. Needs a few things and some TLC but its got new rings. What are some common mods for this bike? Any parts to look for off other Yamaha's? Suspension mods, more performance? Can the aluminum swing arm be used of a 1980 IT 175?

dudz,,,am confused .. ur all talking about a certain wire from speedo that needed to be earth on the frame........that f ur still using ur speedo...in my case dudz were i had remove all the components n my dtr,,and replace it with a racing plate... my question is ? do i still have to look for a certain wire to earth it ?were do i find it?under the tank, ,is that wire coming from the cdi? or from the servo? whats the color of that certain wire bro?i am really confused..my powervalve works well ,,but am just curious about those restriction ur talking,,,as of now ;thus my power valve move freely....or still i had to wired it to free it from restriction…
