Dual Sport, Offroad Bikes

I thought you guys might find this interesting as you'll be able to see the type of roads, terrain, and grim weather we have in Mid Wales! So here's a short clip filmed yesterday on the road between Brecon and Llandovery in Mid Wales. I'm on my TT-R250, and the guy filming is on a CCM644. I'd love to have a go @ sliding this thing around on a track! Found it whilst I was trolling through Ebay on my break @ work YZ250 Flat-Tracker Couldn't believe how many RD's have been listed lately too.

Went for a 240+ mile round-trip trek to retrieve this for the latest addition to my YamaGarage It's an '82 XT550 (a bit older I know)....that I found on Ebay. It was the 1st bike that I found that was located in Oregon, so I could eliminate the shipping fee's......only cost me $30 in fuel for my truck, to get it. The interesting scenario is that I was outbid in the last half a minute of the auction, but it still didn't reach the $1000 reserve that was set. So I called the seller on the phone & offered him $800 cash.....& he took it! It runs great!...has all new UFO plastic, along with Bark Busters. The fuel tank is dented on both sides, but not …

The TT-R's finally done! Turns out the persistent oil weep was coming from the redundant decompressor bolt on the top of the casing. No sweat though....cos for them to find it, I ended up with all the top gaskets and oil seals replaced. And I had them to adjust the valves while they were at it. The new air filter is in and it's running a hell of a lot better now, as the old one was disintegrating and split. It's got a new MOT, new NGK, the handguards are on, it's got Silkolene inside, and now it's running like a little watch. Let's Rock!

All work completed....and genuine Yam handguards fitted. Some of the older model plastics are going quite cheap now...these were £13. What do you think?

since i got the klr i've noticed that everyone's always interested in my bike. non bikers turn to look at it in the street and bikers have came up and told me how they'd really like one..... i just hope all the yuppies don't come along and bastardise yet another area of biking

I had a very slight oil weep from the valve cover seal when I had it. I told the dealer and he'll sort it for me. Anyway, the sound thrashing that it had on Sunday has made the work a little more urgent, so it's gone in. Probably in for a couple of days to replace gaskets and O Rings...no charge though. And my handguards (official Yamaha) have arrived too. The Giant Killer should be fit by the weekend! With any luck!

From Llandrindod Wells down to Llandovery....then back up to Builth via a short excursion on the Sugarloaf Mountain! Here's a couple of shots on the mountain trail.... And for all you doubters.....yes, this is real mud! And back home via Builth Wells. So that's the last ride of 2004!

well as pete knows, i've been thinking of getting a dualsport. so here it is! a klr650 52 reg with 1.3k miles, predator exhaust(which sounds great) like new condition. i think i've finally found the bike for me! power is great as is the comfort, fun factor and handling. i've been riding it non stop since i got it and it has created a far better first impression than any of my other bikes ever have. it's an awsome bike and i'm over the moon with it

I've got a 1990 dt125r, dep rear silencer but only seems to b doin 50 miles per tank, n e 1 got n e ideas, also does any1 no how to derestrict early models mines a 1989/90 model so every1 says its easy but doesn't say how? Thanx Matt :?

any one any idea how i plug the power valve servo into the bike on a 1989 bike? i hav looked high and low for the plug and come ti the conclussion the bike doesnt have the plug so any one have any ideas how i get my power valve to work?the power valve motor ive got has a 4 pin plug and a seperate wire and from the wiring diagram all go to the cdi unit ,my bike has a spare plug with black and brown wires and another single wire,any ideas how to wire up this motor?

can any one please have a look at there carb and tell me what if anything is screwed into the right side of the carb on theopposite side of the tickover screw ,mine has a threaded hole, the bike is a 1989/1990 with a flat side carb [-o<
