Hi all Wonder if someone can advise me. Got pulled over the other day whilst out on my 04 R6 (luckily not by the police) but by another biker who flagged me down. Basically said that my brake light was permanently on except when i appeared to go over a bump. On closer inspection this is in fact true. The lever appears to be permenantly touching a small metal disc (could be the switch?) that is aprox 5p in size. Is there an adjustment i can do to the switch or anything? Any advice appreciated Rich

Hey, first post on the forum so hello to everyone here. Just spent a fair few minutes having a read about some of the previous posts regarding the RS125, R125 and the YZF125. I am doing my bike test saturday 27th and will be buying a 125cc bike. I've been driving a car for 2 years so I have some road experience but on a bike obviously extra caution is required. Now my dilemma. I am after a 125cc and the YZF looks like the one. Would picking the YZF 125 be an excellent choice for a first bike due to the following reasons, or would a bigger bike (400cc-600cc) be a better choice? The YZF Reliability Very sportbike look-a-like Top speed doesn't concern me, but 7…

I've read this is somewhat normal, but after I broke the engine in...around 1500 miles, a mysterious ticking noise from the top left side of the engine appeared. Increases/Decreases with engine speed/rpms. Engine & Exhaust muffles the noise at 5K plus. All the local dealer's say it's normal, but I'm not so sure of their competence. IS this normal, or do I have a problem? Seems a bit strange to pay 11K for a finely tuned bike like this to have "tick" after teh engine was broken in properly.

Hi All, I'm new to the forum. I just bought my first bike an 88 fz600. I also got my license recently so i think this is a great starter bike. I picked it up for cheap but a few things are not working and i don't have a manual so I would ask you guys to help me out. 1.) i gear up and it works fine but then when i gear into the first and stop the bike always goes into neutral no matter what i do or how many time i push down on it? 2.) All my lights work on the bike except the headlights but sometimes they come on then they die again, what could that be? 3.) I need to tune it up a bit to bring it back to life, what oil should i use? how much oil goes into thi…

I purchased a used 1983 Seca Turbo a few weeks back, and I suppose I'm just curious as the the community for them. I saw that there were only about 6000 made total, and of those about 1500 were made in '83. Of those, not all of them are even still running today. I'd just like to know if there's anyone out there with a Seca Turbo as I have a few questions regarding it (although they are probably fairly general to the point that anyone with a cycle could answer them). tl;dr: Wondering what happened to all the Seca Turbos.

Last week, after a bout with an electrical short, a flooded engine, and ultimately a dead battery (and a lot of 4-letter words) I had to take my car to work. The next day, I tried jumping it off my car and after a an hour and a half and getting it running (but not idling), I called it quits. The next day I came home from work with a puddle of oil under the bike. The engine was dry underneath, so I took the exhaust system between the engine and the turbo and there was about a quart of oil in it. I read somewhere that it's a symptom of a bad check valve in the turbo oil loop, so I checked that out and everything was good. I filled the oil back up, got it started an…

Hello My wife and I have a set of 2006 vtar ll00's. I would like to get a set of pipes but unsure what would fit well and sound deep not so much loud. I also rode a friend of mine's 750 honda aero 2004 model. I loved the handle bars on that bike and was wondering if there is a set of bars out there that are not as wide as the stock bars and would come back some. My arms feel like they are extended to far right now. Thanks for any help you can give. My email is dixeedude@yahoo.com

After some years riding various 500 - 600 cm3 machines, I've recently bought an XJR 1300. Model 2005 / 2006, but very low mileage, had never been registered, full guarantee. Tyres are Dunlop Sportmax D207, pressure according to book : 36 front / 42 rear. I didn't touch the suspension settings. My weight is abt 95 kg. I've driven the bike for only abt 400 miles, always in quite cold conditions. Since the beginning I was not so sure about the grip on the road, specially on the rear tyre. When braking the rear wheel blocks very easily, and I had a couple of scary swerves. Yesterday I went out, temperature about 8°, rainy. On a roundabout at very low speed abt 15-20 …

i have a 1993 yamaha 650 max, it has been setting in a inside storage for over 20 years. when it was put up the motor was not stored right. it only has 1400 miles on it. i am trying to get it to run again. the problem is it seems to be froze up. i have pulled the plugs and put mystery oil in the cylinders with no luck. i have pulled the starter and carbs also. i can not find any where on the motor where i can use a wrench to break the motor lose. i try to bump it in gear to see if it will turn over but that dosen't seem to work. i can't imagine it is frozen that bad. any advise would be appreciated. i prefer not to pull the head if possible. thanks in advance. grm

WOW! Just got a 08 FJR 1300, after trading in the 05 FJR because we had racked up so very many road/seat miles! Thought we were doing an upgrade, but much to our surprise, the 08 does not seem to compare to the 05. 08 is more underpowered than the 05, and most importantly, who came up with that seat design! Not someone who rides very much, that is for sure! Hard and uncomfortable, and cant ride for very long without a break. Even the copilot seat is hard and uncomfortable. For what you pay for a new bike, you should not have to shell out the extra for a custom built seat. I am going to have to, but it should not be mandatory. If you want to ride and be comfortable, y…

Hi all, Anybody work for a Yamaha delearhip in the UK/Europe? I have been trying to get a lowered seat for the Fazer S2 (3cm lower - I'm 5'8" and would prefer a lower seat). They don't sell them in the US. The part number in Europe is ZUB-FZ6SI-TZ-BA. If anybody could check if it is available in the UK I would greatly appreciate it! I have emailed a couple of dealers but no replies. Thanks, Dani

Hello, I can't seem to find a specific topic/forum only for Yamaha YBR 125. If it exists, can someone help me to find it? If not, how to create this topic? While out off the road yesterday in the middle of nowhere in the south of France my clutch simply gave up and I'd like to have some valuable input if possible. Many thanks !

I hope I am posting in the right place. I am not yet the owner of a Yamaha but my wife has a Fazer FZ6. I am poised to buy a FZ1 but am put off by several reports of snatchiness on reopening the throttle after closing at around 4000rph. I have been riding a 2004 Cb1300 and that is snatchy on take up so I dont really do 'snatchy' any more-fed up with it! So does the 2008 Fazer still have this problem? Also I am used to galloping up to 60 mph in about 3.5 seconds on the CB any idea the corresponding figure for the Fazer FZ1 I can't see it quoted anywhere. Any help on this and any other comments will be most appreciated. PS Sorry I do have a Yamaha- a SR400 imported …
