Going to France in the summer and need to get a spare bulb kit. Anyone have a list of the bulbs the XJ6 takes? Seen some on ebay for various Yamaha models but not the XJ6, although they all seem to include pretty much the same bulbs (H1, H4, H7 and indicator, stop/tail bulb and fuses) in the kit. Will one of these do? I don't even know if my bike has HID / xenon lamps (assuming it doesn't). And is the tail light LED? Google isn't helping me much at all! Really should get to know my bike a bit better...

Would like to raise my bars an inch to improve my comfort on the bike a little. Anyone know what risers I need and where I can get some? Also, what's the deal with the cables - will they be long enough as they are or will I have to have them done too? Thanks in advance

Hi all. I have, as you may know, a YZF750. I bought some R1 2003 forks to replace my original ones. I have had some shims made up to fit the gap in the bottom yoke. I have the wheel aligned central, the callipers (also R1, blue star type) line up, but I have one big problem: The 320mm discs on my YZF wheel are getting in the way of mounting the callipers on the fork mounts. The callipers are about 10mm away from the mounts. Does anyone know what year R1 has 310mm discs other than 2003, should I be looking for a pre injection model? I have also considered selling the 2003 R1 forks and buying a set of older R1 forks that would take a 320mm disc. Has anyone d…

Hi all, My thundercat is now pissing me off..... I like to think that I'm quite mechanically astute, I do all the work to my bikes and cars myself and have built a mobylette in the past (I can't remember why!). My thundercat was working fine all last week, and when I came to start it yesterday the lights came on (as if its in first gear) without any ignition sound. I've charged the batteries, checked a number of fuses and still can't see a problem. Does anyone have any suggestions? Its doing my head in, there are no obvious issues with side stand switch or anything like that... Pie

Hello! I'm hoping to do my DAS when I turn 21 in just over 2 months. Been thinking about it for a while, and finally set my mind on it. The main reason why I want a bike is purely for fun, and maybe to and from work every so often. I don't really know anything about bikes, so have joined a few forums to get some opinions about what would be a good first bike. A few people have said about the XJ6 Diversion being a good start, and a few reviews that I've read have said similar. Hi Guys, I'm the happy owner of a 2010 XJ6 Diversion F, got it last year, and came close to 10.000 miles on it. During my time with my bike I have come across some 'uncertainties', but hopefully you can help me out. I have google around to find answers, but the more I search the more in doubt I got, so I figured I'd ask you guys. 1) Since I'm looking for ways to make my XJ6, MY OWN, I have come to wonder... Is there a difference between the FZ6R and the XJ6, other than a few HPs.. If so, what are the diffences? and 2) Will I be able to fit a Two Brothers Exhaust V.A.L.E M2 005-2570107V-B Black series on my XJ6? (and will I need a PC). I know i…

Any members have experience of modding or replacing the exhaust on the XJ6? The Scorpions look and sound good for the money. But are there real performance benefits in the OEM+ exhausts, seems a bit odd stuffing another can onto the one thats on there. Not that Im unhappy with the current performance, just trying to justify shelling out the bucks for cosmetics and a different tone. I think on a practical level Givi Panniers will have to come first though. Would appreciate the collective wisdom and experiences of the group. Cheers

Albeit second hand I bought it from a dealer, the salesman says the original owner bought it from them, rode it for 6 months and then parked it in the garage for 2 years due to having a stroke, it had a full service history at that same dealer and eventually returned to the dealer because he realised he would never be able to ride it again, it only had 1200 on the clock, I was assured by the salesman it would be a good commuter, it would be reliable and they know the bike. so, my xj600n is back out the garage and ready for its MOT this weekend, few things i noticed were that there is a slight knocking noise coming from the bike when idle, was on yourtube and it sounds like it the norm for these bikes? also, in exitment to get out for a spin i put 2 stoke into it . . .(thanks to my old man not correcly labaling the fuel cans) after i noticed i emptied what was left of the tank, and filled with fresh fuel, but its still smoking like a chimney. is there anything i should do prior to my next trip on it? e.g. sparkplugs fuel filter ect? thanks! Ive been looking to upgrade to a larger bike for the past month now and Im seeing that it is an expensive business. Im thinking if Im going to go out and spend some serious money why not go for a license aswell. So far the 2013 Yamaha WR125R has caught my eye, Im 19 at the moment and going by law (I think) I could learn to ride up to 350cc bikes but I thought hey why not just start low see how I get on. Ive heard that you can de restrict these 125s aswell? But again Im new to the scene and eager to find out more. Any Information would be appreciated! Cheers, John

Hi all, I am thinking about some new winter riding gear . It's starting to get a bit cold and damp on my XJ6 recently. I have had Frank Thomas textiles for nearly 4 years and they are getting past it . Got a 3 layer jacket : outer , so called windproof/waterproof and thermal antifreeze linings . but the inner lining zips have gone and this is drafty in the winter , the outer zip pull has broken and I now have a key ring on it. Plus my balls get wet when it rains despite the 3 piece construction of the trousers , you have all been there I am sure . Taken to using a plastic throw away car seat cover from workshop stuffed down my waterproof rain over trousers like…

ok. u have a 1987 yamaha virago xv1100. this issue happens mmaybe once or twice a month. The most 4 times a months every.. ill be riding on the highway going pretty fast. for example today i was riding it on the I95 in florida doing about 100 miles per hour for about 80 miles so a good hour drive... i stop at a gas station. turn off my bike.. fill up with some gas. go to start my bike and BAM IT DOESNT START.. When i start it i hear my starter click, so its shooting out and i hear a FAINT spinning. Sometimes if i let it sit for a while it will start right up. Sometimes it wont. 1)If i push start it no problem ( this kills me becuase this is one heavy son of a gu…

bikes built up and could be running but as a result of this arctic weather my throttle has frozen solid and im not even going to attempt to refill my coolant + barrel as it'll just freeze within a hour so i think i will wait till i take it for a ride, on the upside it has a ton of compression and should be great just going to hate the wearing in period.

hi just had my bike sprayed r1 blue,does anyone know where i can get a tank protector that will be a close match for the colour?..tried a couple off the bay but neither is close enuff, cheers

Hi people, has anybody fitted a tail tidy to their bike, i have but now number plate touches the back wheel. Would like to know if anybody else has had same problem
