I'm looking putting down a deposit for a mt-07 this payday but am bound to a restricted licence until November. Does anyone know if yamaha will provide a 33bhp (25kw) restrictor kit for the mt-07 or will a xj6 kit fit. Or is it even worth getting one fitted for the sake of a few months. Is it a banable offence or just a small fine.

Hey everyone, I have a strange question, as Much as I love my xj6n there is one thing that I am not keen on & that is the front forks, is it possible to fit the forks of an fz8. I know this is a question likely to be a one off, but I don't know where to start with regards to looking for measurements or if mounting points would be the same thanks for any help or any comments. Shaun

Help !!!! I need a favor. I think my frame is bent. I need the distance from the top front of the neck to the large main cross brace above the swing arm bolt. (appx. 1.25 diameter tube). Should be around 27 13/16 (27.8125) inches or 706.4375 mm. Went to test fit the tank cover and does not fit with the upper fairing bracket on. Top of frame appears to be short above the engine. Installed engine cradle and they are low and forward of the rear bolt holes.

Was giving my bike a good clean yesterday and took the baffles out the exhaust to polish the tip... its my FZ6, and it has LeoVince Evo II Slip-ons on sound reallly nice without the baffles, not quite as loud as my SV at low revs but screams when neering the redline. Whats the legality of this? tempted to leave them out... Cheers Matt

  9. Apparently West London Yamaha have pioneered a way to "de-restrict" the YZF R125, and are charging ยฃ150+vat to do it. It consists of fitting a specially modified secret part and a new sprocket, Now common theory is the bike is not restricted any way, so firstly I imagine this is tuning. The second thing is there is supposed to be an article by Liam from MCN floating around somewhere, where he had the work done... I cant find this and wanna see what he had to say. I just dont seem entirely convinced, expecially as they claim that you dont need any kind of fuel management system fitting. Can anyone shed any light on this as I am having real trouble finding anyโ€ฆ

Hi, I'm on the point of buying an MT03, and I don't think it has a 12v lighter type socket for a satnav or heated gloves etc. How big a job would it be to fit one do you think? Is it even possible? tia

Hi I has looking at getting a Arrow exhaust for my XJ6n but don't know whether to buy the system that removes the cat or keeps it. I know that in the UK emissions are not tested so a cat is not needed, but if I was to take the bike touring would the de-cat pipe be a problem Or would there be any running problems cat vs de-cat Thanks

Going to look at an 88 FZ600 today, this time for my brother in law. Once he saw my bike, it brought back memories of when he used to own the EXACT same bike, but with the white, original paint. Mine is black... but I found an original one and showed him, he's out of the province working so I'm going to pick it up for him today.

Has anyone got either brand on one of the XJ6 range ? My bars are bent , hardly noticeable to some folk but i know it was dropped and the bars are bent . Starting to bug me now when riding , slightly lower on the right hand side . So I am going to replace them . I want bars that are not much different in height to what the xj6 has standard, renthal sell several versions and give rise height measurements . I cannot find a measurement for the rise of the standard bar and obviously mine are bent so no point measuring mine . Anyone help with finding measurement , providing a measurement or actually have some fitted. Thank you , David.

Hi.looking at removing my exhaust on my xj6s to clean up and paint and remove the stones that sit on top of the exhaust just before the box. Would you recommend that I replace the manifold gasket x 4 or could I reuse these? although my bike is approx. 30 months old but before I had it its been used in the British weather and tarnished it.also thing of replacing the nuts what hold the exhaust on to the manifold with stainless steel ones. Would this be wise do you think. many thanks. xj6s.

Hi I bought a new XJ6n about 7 weeks ago and had the Yamaha dealer supply and fit a 33bhp ready for me to ride away. When I picked the bike up I asked the question. "Did you take off or change and parts to restrict the bike so when it comes round to unrestricting the bike I have all the parts and come do it myself". I was told no it's just a plate the screws on to the throttle body that stops the throttle, just unscrew the 2 screws and remove the plat. I thought I would have a look as it booked in for this first service this Saturday, and found that this plate not only is a throttle stop but also holds the cables. When removed the cables just go baggy as they have notโ€ฆ

I have a 1979 Yamaha XS750 which has no spark. I have narrowed it down to blown transitor in the Electronic Ignition Module. It is about as big as a 10 cent piece and has FTD32 printed on it. I cannot read the rest because it has blown a hole where the part number is. Does anyone know the part number for this? Could it be something else that has blown it up? I was thinking voltage regulator maybe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi ya all. why would a chrome exhaust change its colour on a sports bike compared to a cruiser? as not sure weather its use or how hard they get put though their life time.its just a shame they seem to tarnish. many thanks for reading and replying. wallywant xj6s.
