Hi everyone, Here is my first post hope i am doing everything properly. I have a problem with the clutch on my 2005 dt175. The clutch deosn't engage properly. When the bike is off and in neutral the wheel move freely. good. but when in gear and the clutch leaver fully pulled then the wheel make the engine turn... Its is not because of the clutch cable because it happen when the clutch leaver on the engine is fully moved forward with a plier. So what could be the problem and how could I fix it ? Thanks.

I went to the tops around bolton yesterday with a m8 and i only got around 55mph (maybe a bit more downhill my m8 could get 65 out of his suzuki) ive looked around on many sites the say the ybr can do 65-70 anyone know why it only does 55

hi my dt was running fine filled it up now it wont start. Taken spark plug out an found not sparking! Tested plug on another bike an it sparks fine. battery seems ok an am getting power to the input side of coil but nothing on output? any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi, I did post this in my 'Hi' message in the welcome are but realised that's not really the place for it.. The bike occasionally cuts out when I'm sat in traffic in 1st gear with the clutch in.. when this is the case, it coincides with the bike not wanting to go into neutral - the gear lever just won't budge. The revs just seem to die to nothing ..but it only does it occasionally. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks guys

Hi Guys, I dont really know a great deal about bikes as i have not been riding very long. I purchased my Ybr 125 a few months back and have loved every second of riding her! A couple of days ago when on my way to work i was accelerating and just reached 50ish mph and the nike just sort of bogged down and the engine management light flashed a few times, so i immediately pulled over and waiting a couple of minutes and everything seemed ok so i continued on my journey but it occured a few more times!! I finished work that night and took her for a half hour or so ride and evrtyhing seemed fine as it did not happen again, which i was chuffed about, so i put it dow…

Hello all, I did a search on this topic but couldn't find a definitive answer. From what I've read there were different versions of the DT175 as far as wiring from the magneto to the CDI (a 5 wire and a 7 wire). Question is, could I simply switch the magneto unit between motors? A little backstory -- I was given a 1980 DT175 from a family member that had been sitting. It ended up needing a new cylinder/piston and instead I bought an entire running motor off ebay. After putting the motor in, I noticed it had less wires coming from the magneto than the motor I took out. Hello all, Just got this yzf-600 and could use some advise on troubleshooting. It starts and runs as long as I keep the rpm's up. when it warns up I let it idle down and it dies. It won't start until it sits awhile. Can anyone point me in the right direction to resolve or check to narrow down the problem? no repair shops close to me.

Hi there, my name is gav I have an xvs650 classic. I've run into trouble with it, namely I sent the carbs to our ultrasonic tank at work and they've been misplaced. I can't kick off about it because it was a side job. I bought a spares or repairs set as I have all the internals from the old ones.. But, where the needle comes through to the underside of the carb there is a brass insert missing. My question is do any other carbs fit say from a virago as finding another set is proving very difficult. Or does anyone have any for sale? Thanks in advance for any help Gav

Hi guys, been a while since I've been on because I've been flat out with a house move and new job, since I was here last my beloved Dtr has had new head gasket new wheel bearings , clutch cable and a nice new set of tires, now not being the best mechanic in the world I have had a go at these and nothing has fallen off it yet lol, ( but ) now I have an electrical problem , when I indicate left its fine but indicate right and all the lights go nuts , is there an easy way of finding the problem or have I got a proper headache on my hands lol ? another little problem I had was when the clutch cable snapped , the actuator popped up, so I popped it back in , is this a bad sig…

looking to fit renthal 'bars to my 1989 xj900f I'm guessing a'new' top yoke is needed,i'v seen an xj900 on ebay with these type of 'bars fitted so I know it can be done.any info much appreciated. thanks chedd.

Hey guys thanks for looking, I'm hoping someone can help me or tell me that I am being paranoid and to man up any would be good :L Right, my engine seems really loud (I'm sure there will be jokes) but I mean rattles.. But the oil is okay, it also sounds quite loud from where the cat is which sounds like the engine rattle so I'm guessing sound travel from the cat. (Oil level is also ok) The bike recently had its M.O.T. And passed fine with no issues, same with the exhaust emissions. Does anyone else have any ideas? The bike also gets hot very quick to, especially if sat idling, coolant is all topped up & everything works fine. But it's hitting 100 then the…

Hi guys sorry about yet another question but I'm having big problems trying to find any engines for my 1991 and was wondering if any of you know if the 2003 dtr engines would be okay to fit in my bike with little problems? There are many 2006 RE engines but I''ve heard that would be a bit tricky to fit onto my bike due to the electrics? Any help would be much appreciated Ben.

Hi guys, just got a couple of questions about my bike. The top end is apparently 700 miles old and pulls very strongly, but uses a wossner forged piston and slaps when cold until warmed. How long shall i leave it to warm up before riding? Also, after a 700 mile old rebuild would you guys say its ok to be doing/attempting wheelies, after warming up of course?

Had hole in my piston so ove now replaced it but im struggling with the timing. Theres a T | H whitch i carnt work out where to line it ive tryed flush with the T Amd lined the top sprocket with the marl on the casing please help!!!!
