I need to replace the fork seals on my bike as one has a small leak what tools do i need is there anywhere i can get step by step instruction preferable with a video or pictures.

I have a Yamaha virago xv125 and it wont start from thee starter motor i have to push start it it only dose this when i first try and start my bike once the bike has been running for about 10 minutes if i stop the engine it will then start up on the starter motor. Can anyone help subject what might be causing the problem any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi, can anyone explain why my ybr 125 makes a "grating" noise when shifting down from 5th to 4th (this sequence only). I have changed the oil with yamaha semi-synthetic oil and is maintained regularly. any help appreciated!

Hi guys ive just picked up my first ever dt125re today any have problems that the previous owner denies all knowledge of :'( First ride was fine for 2.miles until it cut out due to crappy silicone used as a gasket for the float bowl getting stuck in the jet. The carbs been cleaned and bikes back together however from cold the bike runs whith the choke lever down, then a mile down the road it will die as stopping, then will only run with the lever in the up position, is this not the wrong way around? O_o Sorry for the lengthy post guys but i just want this sorted, thanks a lot

Sorry guys i just posted this question in the offroad bike section but this seems like the better option so here it goes Hi guys ive only just bought my bike today and its already running strangely. The bike will start up and run with choke off (down) for about a mile and will then cut out every time i come to a stop, and will only start again with the choke on (up) and will run pretty much spot on. Im sure that up is on and down is off or have i gotten this wrong? If not what could cause it to only wanna run with choke on? Do i have to adjust the mixture screw with choke off untill it idles well? Thank and i look forward to any advice

Hello All, I have a 1979 DT 175 I need help with..It has1800 origional miles..Heres situation. When I got It it had sat for quite awhile. So I Cleaned gas tank cleaned petcock rebuilt carb It had nice fat blue spark It started right up Idled for a bit when I started increasing rpm,s it started bogging out then finally die. It would start eratticaly a sometimess run for sveral minutes but always die.Sometimes id prime cylender with no avail. I figured it was the oil seals and so I did the following. Hello Folks, I was wondering if someone could help me with an electrical issue on my Yamaha EW50 Slider moped? When the Slider is cold and I turn on the ignition I have a working horn, indicators and brake light. When I start the ped I lose all of those and the headlight is very dim. I've tested the battery with a multi-meter and it's showing 13v with the engine off, but I'm not getting any voltage rise with the engine running. I'm guessing the problem could be one of four things: 1) A dodgy stator. 2) Bad earth (I can only find two - one on the starter and one on the coil and they both look fine). 3) Regulator/rectifier (gets very hot, very quickly) 4) …

G'day all, New here, been riding and tinkering for 30yrs plus, have come across a problem with my XJ900F 1985 Model, that has me stumped. Been through all forums, seem to be the answer then when I try the solution same problem. Clean plugs new fuel, full choke bike starts and runs well, try again next day, sort-of starts on 2-3 cylinders, after 4 -5 goes at stopping and starting, won't start, backfires occasionally. Clean the plugs sorts problem for the above mentioned period. If I test the spark with the trusted screwdriver Plug lead via screwdriver to rocker bolt, awesome spark. Any help much appreciated.

yeah so traveling back home to aberdeen from elgin on sunday night bambi decided it wanted to get a closer view of me and jumped out. BOOOM right into the front left hand side of me. Luckily my leg/boots took the brunt of the damage and after rolling to the side of the road it looks like the only damage to my bike is the mudguard, indicator and radiator cover. Will need to have a better look at the forks/wheels once im back mobile. So anyone know where i can get a Metalic Red Front Mudguard for my bike? its the 2010 model. I dont want to get a black or carbon look aftermarket one, just the OEM. Local dealer quoted me £95 for a new one. Thanks in advance. …

Hey guys. Haven't posted for awhile but was riding the bike to work, when I went to take off the bike seemed like it popped into neutral so I put it back in. Got to another stop light and went to take off and it wouldn't move and was making a grinding sound while idling and in gear. No sound while in neutral. Now a shop said that it was the outer drive and I be better off grabbing a new engine off a pull yard So I put it on a trailer and took her home. Now looking at the outer drive since I got most the back end apart aside from the swing arm the drive looks just fine. I did pull the cover off and no broken teeth that I can see in there and the drive seems solid. So wha…

As you probably know I own a Virago 750 and have a bit of a problem. When I try to check the oil I can't see through the small round window due to it being a nicotine brown colour. Is there another way to check how much oil is in there?

Hi Guys and Girls, After doing some hard work getting my bike going again, l found out that my front brake master cylinder for my 1997 xj600s is seized. What l first thought was the caliper (Got two pistons on this cailper by the way), after unbolting the caliper off the bike removing the pads and using G-clamps to get them moving by pushing the pistons in and was going to pump them out again using the brake lever and found out l didn't need to because as the piston on one was going in the other one was coming out lol, So using two G-clamps l put it all back together however as l was going to test them using the brake lever l found out it was not moving? Okay so bike keep lossing water radiator gets empty light comes on but after looking all i see is the overflow pipe for expansion bottle on back of bike when riding losses loads of water ? The overflow pipes so long it goes from expansion bottle to front off bike around engine and back up i put it up high so i could see it it deffo lossing water from there but why?? Confused Need help

Gents, It looks like the chain is 'binding' on the front sprocket - going through the gears a grinding/rasping/knocking feel through the end transmission and it feels like the gearbox is grinding itself to bits - but the engine/gearbox are as sweet as. I don't know any better than that the rear & front sprocket + chain have the same level of wear and when the sprockets teeth become sharp or bent that it is changing time. Also a pointer towards how tight a chain on a machine like this should be would be appreciated (as in how many cm deflection when you push the chain up on side stand) - or if i post a pic could you judge if mine are up for replacement. …

I have a problem with my XJ 750. The plugs are all totally sooted up in 100 miles. I got to thinking that it is the coils. The manual says that I should get about 13K ohms across the secondary winding (plugs 1&4 2&3). I am gettng 22K ohms but 13 without the caps. so my question is, although the diagram in the manual shows with caps, should I measure with or with out them? I am getting 4K ohms through each cap alone. Should I try to get non-resistored caps or are my coils breaking down or am I barking up the wrong tree?
