HI ... have got an E reg rxs100 ... just taken the mrs down to do her cbt and the bloody thing wont idle... gonna make life hard for her bit when she gets back i need to check the carb settings ... as good a place to start as any ... so any of you guys knopw what they should be ?????? cheers

hi guys. new to the forum and the motorcycle world. me and a buddy have a 78 yam enduro 175 and we are LOST. we had starting problems with it and it ended up being a bad spark plug wire. we changed that out and it ran great. now out of the blue it wont start period. i turned the fuel off and tried pourin a little gas directly into the cylinder through the spark plug hole and nothing still. I know its getting gas but im a LITTLE (ok a lot) lost on the spark. It DOES have spark to it, but im wondering if its to weak. I can hold onto the wire when im kicking it over and it barely shocks me. i cant hardly even feel it. i know on my newer yam 4 wheeler, holding onto the wire b…

My 1999 R1 has tghe last 3 days had trouble with its gears. When I try and change up to 3rd, 4th and 5th gears I have to literally kick the lever to change gear and sometimes it takes 2-3 attemps. Then all of a sudden its fine again? I can change down with no problems, and the trouble is when the engine is both cold or warm. I have checked the oil level which is fine and the oil has only bee in there the last 1500 miles and is the right grade. This is an intermitent problem, but more time bad then good. Any ideas? Hello everyone, first I would like to say thank you for this forum! Now my issue... I recently purchased a 1981 yamaha 550 Seca (I think XJ550 is the same thing?) Anyhow, my brother-in-law got it running and I have been learning to ride on it. It would tend to get a rattle on the front end at about 3-4K rpm's so I took the front faring off to see what it was. Turns out there is a thin silver trim around the headlight that had seemingly came loose. With that little trim coming off (it appears as though it had been spot-welded to some little tabs on the inside of the headlight assembly) I can't get the headlight to stay on the bike, the only thing keeping it in is t…

Hello all, new to this forum thanks for your time. I just bought a 1986 yx600 radian. pretty good shape, but the seat wont unlock, preventing me from opening it. i've tried wd-40, key wiggles back and forth, can hear lock mechanism moving under the seat, but it wont unlock. Any ideas?

Hey all, as i am a bit of a ditz i serviced my k&n the other day on my 01 R1 and just followed the instructions, cleanong the out side of the filter and re oiled the outside but it wasnt till i was putting it back together when i realised that the filter works from inside to out, so does that mean ive done it wrong? If anyone could help it would put my mind at ease! Thanks Sam

Hey all, was woundering if anyone could help me, im slowly rebuilding a 02/03 yzf r1 but my road bike is a 00/01 that is on 19000 miles now so is need of the suspension refreshing, ive been told that the rear shock will swap straight over and is a plus because the later shocks are a better, but i wana know how much work it is to make the later yoke fit the earlyer bike? if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Help i have a R6 2001 with 23000 miles on the clock now. Have only had it a year. It has a Scorpion can but thats it. She has developed a noisy rattle but only at the first intial start up of the day. She starts fine but after 30 seconds this noise appears. It seems to be coming from the top end. and give it 40 seconds to a minute and it stops and never comes back until she is very cold again. Help anyone any ideas

Can anyone help out. when I pull the throtle back hard my bie accelerates but when the revs get high say to about 7000 the engine suddenly races...if it was a ypvs i would say it was that kicking in but its not! can anyone suggest anything or maybe i will need new friction plates cheers chris

It has locked the wheel permanently and I can’t unlock it asked permitted service and I said that need replacement all the locks the electronic ignition because exists immobilizer ….>!!!!!! Please help if you have any idea???? regards panayotis

Hi, all. Hope some one can help my Fz is 1989 and will need replace ment front discs very soon, but it seems to have wrong size front wheel it is a 17 inch wheel. I have talked to others some say it was a model up grade and some say this was an after market owner upgrade commonly using the fzr 1000 front end. Any help to solve this would bevery usefull also any idea where to get cheap (used discs)? Cheers Meurig

MY XS250 IS REFUSING TO START, FUEL IS GETTING THRU, POINTS HAVE BEEN GAPPED AND TIMING CHECKED, BUT I CANNOT GET THE SPARK TO JUMP THE GAP ON THE RIGHT HAND POINT, POWER IS GETTING THRU TO THE POINT BUT NO SPARK WHEN STARTER BUTTON PRESSED, I GET A SPARK ON THE LEFT HAND POINT. HELP

Hello there and thanks in advance for your help!! I have a 1980 XS400. It is only firing on one cylinder, the left one. I checked for a spark from the plugs. and in the problem cylinder there was no spark from the plug. To investigate i: swapped High tension leads (the ones from the coils to the plugs) no change, the right cylinder still no spark. then swapped the coils. the spark then appeared at the right and not the left. so i am assuming that the coil is broken and when i replace the broken coil i will fix the problem. am i correct? is there another way i should have gone about checking this or can i be sure that the coil is at fault? also i have had…
